Tests now shows prolonged blue screen exposure shortens lifespan in lower order animals. I'm guessing in humans too. So purchased ($5) utility for Windows that one press hotkey from blue (web browsing etc) back to normal colors (simming). Medical study https://www.sciencedaily.com/release...1017101253.htm Nine free cures... https://www.geckoandfly.com/21437/blue-light-filter/ Best color temps to set https://iristech.co/what-is-the-best-color-temperature/ SunsetScreen was cheap and I though the best (easiest to use and lots of configuration options). https://www.skytopia.com/software/sunsetscreen/#intro I have it set to run 24/7 instead of a day/n…

Uff.. After a very long time just writing code to release a product, tonight I was finally able to do a short flight using my PMDG 737 under P3D. I really missed flying! I was a bit rusty but everything went well despite the weather at Gatwick and Amsterdam. I love this hobby! Regards, Simbol

Has anyone else attempted to reach the fspilotshop.com? I keep getting a "forbidden" 403 message when I try to reach the site. I thought it might have been on my end. Anyone else? Thanks 🙂 .

I'm thinking of taking advantage of Flightbeam's sale and get myself KIAD. However, I want to ensure I don't waste my hard earned cash like I have done with KBOS from a well known developer! Does it perform well? and by that I mean smoothness. Or will I have to turn everything off in the settings panel to get the thing to work properly? Opinions and feedback welcome as always. Oh BTW, is this effectively a FSDT scenery? If so, I would not be interested if I have to install the addon manager.

Gotta question...I just noticed that download sims aren't offering a separate CD for ordering. Is this the new standard?

In the sim world, there isn't much barrier to keep us trying out such many types of aircrafts available, unlike the real world. At least there is no regulation problem, not that much financial problem (still big one for a individual), no opreational issue, and you don't need to know the system as deep as a type rated pilot have to be.... I think there are many people flying both study level Boeings and Airbuses But still, fly several different type mixed in the same period of time is chanllanging, That's why it's not often in the real world. Cross Crew Qualification with Airbus it easy, I heard that 350 and 380 is much different from 320-340 things, but no…

I just read a news story about Microsoft receiving a new $10 billion contract from the US government for building cloud computing services. The photo that accompanies the article shows a Microsoft building located in France. Since MSFS 2020 will be running off a Microsoft cloud computer and the sim is being developed in France, this huge inflow of money is definitely good news. I just hope they gave Lionel the entire $10 billion up front and in cash. https://www.foxbusiness.com/technology/microsoft-record-high-pentagon-contract

From the FAA: - FAASafety.gov -------------------------------------------------------- Runway Safety Tips – Winter Ops Notice Number: NOTC9809 Winter is coming. Following these tips may SPARE you from dangerous runway incursions in the months ahead: SPEED - When taxiing, keep it slow. If you weren’t able to walk steadily on the ice-coated surfaces leading out to your parking space, it is entirely likely that your 1,200-pound Piper Cub won’t fare much better. Don’t undo all the work you did to clean the aircraft off. Taxi slowly to avoid throwing up snow and slush into the wheel wells and onto aircraft surfaces. Taking it slow …

First, I didn't find an Orbx forum here so I am posting this in the chat forum. I've had this query on the Orbx Support for Limited User's Forum for three days now but nobody has replied. I guess we Orbx orphans aren't that important even though we still buy the scenery. Can I have both FTX Central 3 and Orbx Central installed at the same time? I have all my addons above FTX in the scenery library in alphabetical order. If I run the terrain routine in Vector in Orbx Central it jumbles them all up in the scenery library and I have to resort them in alphabetical order. If I run terrain routine in Vector in FTX Central 3 it leaves them in alphabetica…

If you are, and have room for some rudder pedals (warning, they are a little over 9kg) then please let me know. Happy to return the favour in one of several ways depending on what is best for you. Cheers!

I have lost my MIAMI Latin VFR version 4….which is needed to upgrade to version 5. I need to communicate with Latin VFR administrators in order to get my old information ( v4 download and password) so that I can upgrade. Any ideas how to contact them? http://www.gcmap.com/mapui?P=sfo-HKG+&MS=wls&DU=mi Is the route shown in red the shortest distance San Francisco to Hong Kong? If not, why was it chosen for the flight? The red line was created when I entered sfo and hkg in the 'path' box and clicked Draw Map. Thanks.

Sometimes a thread in Hangar Chat drifts off subject. What we are doing is having a conversation and that's what conversations do. We are chatting. Anyone who has hung around a 'hangar' or and FBO office knows that the conversation isn't always about flying or airplanes. Probably we mostly talked about women. Just like any conversation over the table at McDonalds or in one's living room we don't restrict ourselves to talk only about what the person who started the conversation was talking about. Conversations almost always drift off course. We are chatting and as the thread progresses someone who wasn't interested in the initial subject gets drawn into the changed …

I have been using FSX since 2011 on Windows 7. After years of updates and Add-ons to my FSX files, I will eventually will have to switch over to Windows 10 since Microsoft announced they will no longer give support or updates to Windows 7 starting in January 2020. I eventually plan on just buying a new HP with Windows 10 and the same FSX requirements I have on my HP Z240 for things to run smoothly. My question is, will transferring FSX from Windows 7 to Windows 10 cause me any grief I should be aware of? Cfoley.

I installed GSX several times over the past few years, each time reminding me of how blessed frustrating and flakey it was. Sometimes it would work, other times it would not, each time winding me up to distraction! 😃 anyhow, I'm looking at UGCX and considering the price, which to me seems very expensive, I need to make sure it works OK. Is it intuitive enough to use? Is it stable? Does it work 100% of the time? Thoughts appreciated fellas.

Imagine this scenario. A popular 3rd party aircraft is withdrawn from sale for reasons not altogether clear. A user would like to acquire it but cannot purchase it. Is it morally or legally acceptable for someone who has purchased it to pass on the installer and registration details? Of course it might not be possible for it to be successfully installed but that would only be known during the process. Piracy is defined as stealing a product thereby denying the seller the money they would otherwise have earned. But as the product is no longer for sale is that relevant? I can’t decide. What do you think?

Fascinating. As a military airfield weatherman, spent a great deal of time in the tower back in the day. Then in about 1995 was able to take a speedy 'make my head spin' guided tour of the ATC center at Williamsport, Pennsylvania. This hour plus video by youtube pilot Martin Pauly at today's Chicago Tracon is a must watch! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7zwzOpG5v4
