Across all the GA aircraft currently available for MSFS, which do you think has the most effective De-Icing? I wish to fly around Colorado this weekend & snow is forecast. I would like to be able to complete a flight in those conditions😀 T45

So as a brief test I was using the steam version after having installed the windows app version (win store). Now for instance, when i go to use the just flight installer for the Arrow III, it auto installs to the former steam packages location i had set (even though i checked in steam, removed the old location, made sure it was uninstalled), even if i remove the folder it recreates the folder as it installs it. I checked the registry and can find no other references to this former steam path. Does anyone know of a fix for this? Thanks in advance

If this is not the correct place for this, please forgive me and feel free to remove the post. If there is a better place I would appreciate a pointer. Thanks. We would like to share with you a peak at a project we have been working on for the past half year. It is a flying competition tracking platform designed for tracking and scoring precision flying (FAI, https://www.fai.org/page/gac-precision-flight) and air navigation racing (FAI ANR, https://www.fai.org/page/gac-air-navigation-race) in real-time for real competitions and real aircraft. Precision flying is a competition form where you're presented with a route consisting of several waypoints (gates), and based …

If not, we need to impress upon these teams that although we greatly appreciate any and all fixes and additions we are aware that some toes can get stepped on when working independently and the final goal of improvement might actually be in jeopardy. Even worse, important items can get dropped in the crack when one team might be expecting the other team or teams to pick up the ball and some important items get overlooked. I have read some of the recent posts where the ever growing Working Title Team is becoming an umbrella, of sorts, with only remotely related projects coming together to ensure more commonality in the code structure and to share discoveries and conc…

I am grateful for MSF! It is a wonderful sim/game. It is especially great for multiplayer vfr GA flights, for which I use it mostly and having a good time. I dont know all the things you're working on, but here are the main negatives at the moment that I wish you'd fix: MSF is a joke on Vatsim. The way Asobo coded the different parts of a route (SID, airways, STAR, trans and approaches) doesn't follow ICAO standards. It's on it's own strange logic that even the Navigraph dev team doesn't understand. When I fly on vatsim I often just have to admit I am flying MSF and the controllers then understand that there are a whole hosts of things I cannot comply with that is o…

After getting everything to work perfectly fine on my current CH Yoke theres's one thing that's quite annoying. I was wondering if perhaps someone has a fix. One's AP is engaged as soon as I switch from Cockpit to External or (vise versa) the AP Disengages. The mapped button that's assigned to switch views on the yoke is in no way mapped to toggle AP Master Switch, so I'm a bit confused as to why this happens.

I'm clearly doing something wrong. Keep getting unhandled exception error with the software. Does this look correct for paths? I moved my addons out of the default community folder to this new folder. Located on the same SSD but outside of the MSFS folder structure. addonlinker by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr

Downloaded and installed the small and then the large updates from Microsoft Store this morning. Things were just fine. I then went back to work. Now (5 hours later) I start up the simulator. It is numbered 1.14.5.0 as it should be after the update. But the program checks for updates and wants me to install the new update! What is going on? The program has the right (updated) number written into the Windows border at the top. But it wants to reinstall. Does it make sense to install twice? Perhaps these fellows might hire a professional team to manage the software programs... (Sorry to vent. But I've been doing this for 25 years and have never seen such an inept per…

1,03GB download on the Microsoft Store, 310MB on Steam, 7,97GB/9,09GB on the installation manager (size depends on your downloaded content). An additional 1,49GB update will add the legacy FSX liveries. RELEASE NOTES 1.14.5.0 Some packages in your community folder may not have been updated and, as a result, may have an unexpected impact on the title’s performance and behavior. Please move your community package(s) to another folder before relaunching the title if you suffer from stability issues or long loading times. Hi, Love the basis of this sim and graphics but I sat at KPDX/Portland mid afternoon yesterday for 30 min. Live Traffic on. Only one plane landed which disappeared when it entered taxiway. Changed to off-line traffic, both General Aviation and Airliner sliders set to 100%, no traffic at all. Went to KASE/Aspen. No Live Traffic, changed to off-line traffic. Two GA planes took off then dived into the nearby scenery. Don't care whether this is sorted by Asobo or an addon, just want traffic! Once this is sorted and GSX available, Sim will be so much better. Is there anything coming either from Asobo or commercially?

I think flying is much more enjoyable when using assisted rudder on runway. It feels more true to life actually. The excessive yawing in crosswind is really annoying. Try it, maybe you like it. But be prepared for wing tipping when you leave the tarmac.

I've experienced heavy turbulence from time to time in this sim - occasionally in the FL240 - FL300 zone. I've usually adjusted my altitude and sometimes got relief. Today at FL280 in the TBM I hit occasional heavy chop over the Alps while in cruise. I didn't adjust this time (I was actually on a phone call and figured I'd try a higher level in a few minutes if the turbulence continued). I was drawn back to the screen when there was a loud tone - the screen was blank. This was followed shortly by a screen message (paraphrased): You have taken the aircraft beyond its designed limits - there has been a structural failure and you have crashed. So much for …

My MSFS 2020 is now perfect. No more CTDs, smooth , stable and looks great. Like the Billy Joel song goes, " I love you just the way you are". Is there anyway to stop it from updating in the future and destroying what is working so well right now?

I use an XBOX controller. So my comments here may or may not apply to you as well. But I just discovered that I get far more realistic control over my aircraft's aerosurfaces when I use the Legacy Flight Model than with the Modern Model. It shouldn't be this way of course, but currently, it is this way. For example, when I'm rolling down the runway, steering is almost impossible with the Modern Model. The slightest movement of your rudder will send the plane lurching uncontrollably to one side or the other. With the Legacy Model, however, things behave more realistically. You can steer down the runway without chaotically spinning out of control. Likewise in flight: The pl…

I have been an avid user of FSiPanel within P3D - and now it is available for MSFS2020 - here is a link if you are interested https://www.fsipanel.com/product/fsipanel-2020-for-msfs-2020-full-license/ I have no connection with the developer or the product - just a fan of it.

This is a question on behalf of the subset of us who have a range of Goflight modules and want to fly MSFS 2020 with the least amount of custom set-up work-arounds. What are the comparative pros/cons of using the current FSUIPC7 versus the current Pollypot GIT? Is there a functionality loss with either (both)? Will the LED displays (eg., radio and multi-panel) work with either? Obviously, it would be good to hear from Goflight Inc itself, but thus far they seem to have gone radio silent -- unless I've missed their statements. Please correct me if I'm wrong on this. Thank you for any/all practical advice you can provide, …

Moderators -- If this baits violation of MS NDA's, or is posted in the wrong forum, please delete or reroute. My question is whether any of the members, who acted as Alpha or Beta testers, used Goflight gear as part of their testing, and whether it seems to be compatible? Obviously, the final answer will be once the product is released, but I have a fair amount of these devices and am very curious, Many thanks, Brian

In FSX I used to have all aircraft sounds on my external speakers via my default sound device and then all talk and ATC sounds coming through my headset, via my sound card. This was done through the sound options screen in FSX. I can't seem to find this option in the sound settings of FS2020 though. Am I missing something?

Hello, Flying the TBM and King Air today i have a feeling of a constant turbulence or wind movement effect. The Plane is constantly shaking left and right and there basically no smooth flying. We all know the moment when you break out of the clouds on top and you are in smooth air immediately. Havent had this in the sim till today. There's alway movement in the plane. Is this a known Bug/issue or am i missing something here? Best regards
