Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

The new update has introduced a nice new feature: FAILURES! Like black screens! "in rare occasions, Aircraft screens might not initialize correctly upon loading a flight. Please restart the flight to fix the issue." Well, I doubt they happen rarely because I've read about them already and the first flight I started in the TBM gave me black screens. Nice. Tip: instead of restarting the flight (which takes ages) temporarily enable dev mode, switch planes, switch back again, disable dev mode and there you go. At least... it worked once for me so far. Why does every update introduce new known issues, I wonder....

Hi simmers 😉 ..Contrails !! But i am missing still wheel smoke and water effects, tought this coming in also with this update so a little bit disappointment to me..🤔 Hopefuly this missing effects coming in fast in a near time. cheers 😉

I started with C172 Skyhawk. The COM radio worked fine. It showed full COM frequencies with all 6 digits. The frequency could be changed at 8.33k spacing. Then I changed aircraft to C152 and then back to C172 Skyhawk. Strange things happened. COM frequencies only showed 5 digits , missing the rightmost one. The frequency could only be changed at 25k spacing. Very puzzling.

Based on Asobo's Zlin Savage Cub, here is a unique livery: that of the L18C "AUB" of the ALAT which was based in Algeria in 1962. Today, it is a Piper PA19 belonging to the Rennes Ille-et-Vilaine Aero Club which has been repainted in the exact colors of this aircraft which was piloted in the 1960s by one of the members of the club. The original is fitted with a classic 100 hp engine. The contrail & FSX liveries 😏 update speaks of an Added wind display in G3X Touch in PFD or Splitted mode I don't see anything like that in my XCub, full or split. Am I blind or is it another classic case of "oops, we forgot to include it" ? You guys see it ?

Why am I getting another update? I have already installed sim update 3 along with going into my content manager and installing the 50 updates for the liveries. So why am I getting this screen again?

The latest update must have installed while my I was away from the PC, but since it did install I cannot enter the Marketplace. The option is greyed out. I went to the Microsoft store and it shows that the product is updated and installed.

Apart from the "black" screen issue, which I have with C172 Skyhawk every time (restarting did not work for me). I found the strange things about COM radio frequency. Now, the frequencies (in both COM1 and COM2) can only change in 25k spacing (00, 25 , 50 , 75 etc.) It happened in both C152 and C172 G-1000 but I have not tried other aircraft yet. I remember those frequencies could be changed in 8.33k spacing before the update. The strange thing is that the 8.33k spacing works in C172. BUT I have "black" screens in all the avionics and could see the frequency change in my Saitek Radio panel. Any ideas? Many thanks. KK

Quick note on the new Carenado PA28R Arrow III for MSFS. It installs no problem and flies nicely and pretty convincingly, being stable but not too stable. As you'd expect from Carenado, it looks good, although it appears to have the cleanest underside of any PA28 I've ever seen lol. All the ones I know were filthy underneath from dirt and exhaust stains. Sounds are pretty good, although not quite as nice as the sounds on previous JF versions of this aeroplane for P3D and FSW, so I'm going to assume they might also be a bit nicer on the MSFS JF version of the Arrow too, but I guess we'll see (or rather hear). Hi, I'm trying the G1000 with sim update 3 and it didn't take long to run into a problem. I can't figure out how to enter or change altitudes on the flight plan. I'm in the Diamond DA40. It's not working letting me change altitude as in the x-plane g1000. How are the G1000 and 3000 working after the update for you? Thanks

Hi all. Been noticing an awful lot that, unless I’ve previously specified a landing runway myself, ATC will direct me to use any old runway irrespective of wind direction. I’ve lost count of the times that I’ve made ultra-fast, downwind landings. Or looked across at a fully inflated windsock blowing at 90 degrees different to my heading. Sometimes, if I really don’t want to crash, I will ignore their directives, and place myself into wind. Other times, I will obey their misguided orders, and fight my way down. Look at this video. It's like the plane is ignoring the MCDU and just go to a specific heading. Even if all the managed function has been enabled. This is the latest dev build.

I am now sitting in Wonder Woman's plane. I can hear the engine and change my view but all parts of the aircraft are gone (internal and external). I'll see if I can still use the g3000 mod with the default aircraft,,,

Hello there, I ve been haviong issues with the 787 since the latest update. Was working fine before. Now the fuel pumps buttons doesnt want to be press and the Engine wont start. I ve tried everything, even downloading a Freeware mod of another 787…same result. Engines wont turn on. Anyone please HELP !!! Thanks

I'm not sure if today's update installed or not. Said it was 5GB and it only took like 10 minutes and was finished. When I go into the game it still says version 1.13.17.0 . Did your version # change or did mine not install. Thanks

I've had my Thrustmaster Warthog stick and Throttle along with other periphelas like Honcecomb Alpha yoke, Saitek Multipanel, Switchpanel,Saitek Flight panel, Thrustmaster rudder and TracIR working with no problem previously, but after the lastest update my Thrustmaster stick causes CTD when loading the sim. I've tried to unplug all other USB periphelas and only have my Thrustmaster Warthog stick attached but that doesen't solve the problem, still get CTD. But when I have my Thrustmaster Warthog stick unplugged and all other periphelas plugged in, the sim works just fine. I've tried different USB ports direct to the PC with no luck. Yes I'm desperate! Spent a decent amount of money on kit to run Microsoft Flight SIm. And now it just won't install/download. Any help really appreciated. Been using the Sim since it was launched. I purchased the Microsoft Store version (Premium Deluxe) running on Windows 10. After UK update, tried to install that from the Microsoft Store App. Store seemed unwell and did not what to install anything at all. I could not get FS or anything else to install. Hi! I watched a tutorial on YT, where the CJ4 works like a charm. Unlike mine... The takeoff, climb and first part of the cruise were just OK. Then the following problems happened: 1/ My flight line on PDF was straight, no turns, and my CJ4 kept on flying banked to the right (approx. 30 deg.). Is it the crosswind? Strange... 2/ ATC told me to descend from FL370 to FL200. I dialled 20000 and pressed FLC, but the descent did not begin. So I used the VC mode - I set -2000 fpm and pressed the VS button.
