Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Hi all, Looking for recommendations for interesting places to practice landings and patterns in airliners for hand-flying familiarization. My go-to has always been KROW due to its long runways (thanks to its history as Walker Air Force Base and SAC location), varying--and sometimes horrendous--winds, and relatively flat surroundings. Any recommendations as far as something with similarly lengthy runways (8k+ ft), varied weather, and maybe some more interesting terrain? Available scenery enhancements (paid or free) would be a plus! Thanks!

As we can see on today's leaked Feedback Snapshot, there is a patch scheduled for 25 March which will fix the performance issues.

The ones marked with * should help prevent stutters on any system. The ones not marked with * may or may prevent stutters on some systems, or make stutters worse on others. I use all of these. Even that i had a significant improvement on performance with new update, sim is smoother and with less stutters etc i have a new weird issue: Random FPS drops ( from 70s-60s to 15fps ) with out a reason + red main thread +manipulators ( on developer mode ) with short length ( 30 sec to 1 minute ) First time i am facing those weird drops which act randomly so far on many airports ( Europe-US tested so far) Was checking CPU/GPU usage and everything was low with normal behavior so i am starting to think that maybe this fps drop comes from Bing Data streaming etc Let me know if anyone had/have this issue thanks Seth

Can anyone advise if it is possible to save your last flight so that in your next flight you can continue with the A/C in the same location and in the same condition as you left it? And how to do it? Thanks

Start-up is taking forever. The bar is moving left to right on the start-up page but ever so slowly. LouP

My review of Aerosoft's EDDB is now up. I was pretty underwhelmed by this one.

I did a simple IFR flight with the A320 from Milan to Frankfurt this morning and found many other "bad" areas south of Frankfurt, where framerate drops to 12 fps for 2-3 minutes with the Manipulators dark red band in the fps counter. Outside of these areas the framerate was 38-40 fps in VR, very smooth despite the clouds coverage. On the ground at Frankfurt I continued to have low framerates (20-22) limited by main thread. I switched to 2D mode (High end settings, render scale 100, 2560x1440) and the framerate stayed the same, limited by main thread. In many other big airports with the A320 I get 40-50 fps in 2D mode and I suspect that the influence of the bad areas exten…

This is a strange one, but I recently re-installed the sim to another drive, and all has been working fine, or so I thought... Everything appears to load from the community folder, all liveries, aircraft etc, but airports do not load if I don't spawn there! If I fly to a third party airport it simply doesn't load. If I restart to main menu and load the departure from that very same third party airport, it loads absolutely fine every time! So frustrating as i've completed a few flights, looked forward to the approach and just have to land at the default airports :-( Any help would be greatly appreciated. A frustrated simmer..

So with the release of the CRJ I finally decided to start experimenting with cameras (didn't really need to bother with the King Air) and ran into apparently a bug that goes back to October. I was following Squirrels video on setting up cameras and when I went to try to set/use SHIFT-Left Arrow or SHIFT-Right Arrow I couldn't do it. The keyboard controls show it being interpreted as SHIFT-Num4 and SHIFT-Num6 and it directly controls the yoke to turn it left and right. Is there no fix for this yet and no work-around?

For some reason, when I try to save a flight, its asking me for a folder. and when I try to load a flt, its again asing me for a folder. I had plwnty of sved flight and now I can't find them I tried searching *,flt in my C drive and within my d:\MSFS (I have installed MSFS here) and I can find any of my flt files Any ideas?

Since a couple of updates ago, I lost the real world liveries I used to have in my community folder. The program is still in the folder, but not in the sim. Instead I have the old default liveries of FSX. Is there a way to get real liveries to populate at airports? Gnacino

Hi all , So why there is still no hotfix for that performance Issue/problem ??? 🤔 Asobo is aware of this now for weeks and still let us fly like this - isn`t this a shame ? There are realy things goeing on that can`t understand.. cheers 😌

I have downloaded tons of excellent stuff from flightsim.to but there seems to be little for MSFS here at AVSIM or over at flightsim.com or any of the other sites I occasionally peruse. Am I missing anything good anywhere else? Flightsim.to is terrific btw and in all honesty, 99% of the files I've downloaded have been keepers. I've only sent 2 or 3 to the trash can.

PF3 does not start after last update. It shows only blank page. Windows 10 64

I hope someone has figured this out.. Windows got corrupted and has been freshly reinstalled, and now I am trying to get all my programs running again. MSFS is installed on a separate SSD. I have reinstalled the base MSFS files and am now stuck in a loop where the Searching for Updates window will initiate the download of all my content, but is immediately stuck in a loop, downloading the first Landing Challenge, over and over again. This folder already exists, so it does not need to be reinstalled, but the Update routine seems confused by this. Anyone?

Without changing anything that I'm aware of, I noticed today, my best frame rate was 30fps. This seemed odd, as on previous days I would see up to 40fps on my OSD even with the poor performance from the last update. What's odd, is that turning vsync off restored my occasional bump up to 40fps. What's even more strange, is that vsync (when on) remains set (unchanged) at 60fps which is the frame rate of my 4K TV monitor. I checked Nvidia Control Panel but there's nothing to see there - everything is default as it was a week ago when I put this new system together. What could cause vsync to ignore its own setting and lock to 30fps? Anyone have any thoughts?
