Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

So far I've not changed NavData sources to Navigraph. Wondering if people are choosing to stick with MS or go with Navigraph - and if there's any downside to using Navigraph? G

I have had CTDs off and on since buying MSFS 2020 starting about 2 months ago. I have tried almost every suggestion, and the CTDs went away for awhile when I used the Vaccine, and came back with a vengeance as soon as I downloaded the latest Hotfix. After the Hotfix I would crash to desktop while trying to start MSFS , half the time. Then either on approach or after landing it would either CTD or while taxiing in after landing the screen would freeze permanently. The other minor problem I have had since day one, is when loading a flight plan, I would go to the G 530, and half the time there would be no flight plan on the flight plan page. It's definitely a first world problem, but I have noticed the following oddity. Let's say I want to enter 7000 lbs of fuel. I start typing 7...the sim reads it as a 6... and wants to enter 6990.9- I'm kind of a stickler for details, so if I need to enter 7000 lbs of fuel in one tank, I'm not satisfied with entering 6990.98. It works when I enter 7...the second time. Am I missing something (except perspective 😀) or is anyone else seeing this?

Where are the saved settings? MSFS2020 ran perfectly. Downloaded JF Arrow III which ran perfectly. Downloaded Arrow v.2 and disaster struck. Mouse and hatswitch on yoke were uncontrollable. Tried standard C172 with same result. Downloaded Arrow v.3 with no change. Did what I thought was a complete uninstall and reinstall of MSFS 2020 after uninstalling Arrow and NOT reinstalling it. No change to problem when testing with C172. I found that my yoke/mouse/keyboard settings were still in the reinstalled MSFS, as were the airports that I had used. This suggests to me that there is a file holding my settings that was not deleted when I uninstalled MSFS2020. Can…

Per title:

Using the Experimental FlyByWire A320 when I load a flight plan from Simbrief I get a flightplan as a dashed line instead of a solid green line on the ND, so the autopilot cannot follow it. I wonder if someone might be able to tell me what I am doing wrong please. I include a screen shot if that might help. Also it seems that I have 2 Kms to get to 35000 feet? Should be fun!! Hi All I never tried this before because it said it would not work unless you had an active flight plan, well a flight plan is not required as I tried saving in flight and even after a reboot I was able to load straight into the save flight from the world map screen with the plane configured as it was saved Thanks Wayne

I used to use SimStarter for P3D to run all my external apps. Any recommendations on something similar with MSFS? Wanting to automatically fire off MSFS and many external applications with a single click. Really dont want to do batch files.

Hello, Got a little issue with binding the right key to disconnect the AP in the TBM using the "AP/Trim disconnect" button. With the latest version of the magnificent WT G3000 you have to use the mentioned button on the Yoke to disconnect the AP (Or the button on the panel) but it seems i can't find the right function in the keybinding list. Have tried all options like AP Master, toggle AP Master, Set AP off and so on, but all of them led to the AP flashing red instead of yellow on the PFD. Am i missing something here? Best regards, Tom

I've done a few flights since the most recent update and to me it seems as though the textures in the distance are blurry. For example, in the flight deck of the CRJ or Airbus, looking through the cockpit the textures in every direction seem very blurry, almost as if they were having trouble loading. The ones straight down are a little better but don't look as crisp as they used to. Any thoughts on what this could be from? Current settings are below. Flying has been very smooth on the last 2 flights in the CRJ with an exception of approaching drzewiecki Chicago and FSDT ORD. I don't think many systems can handle that combo...Thanks!

Hello, I've mapped my preferred cockpit views to various buttons on my joystick, but I can't find a way to map 2 or 3 external views I'm after. I'm in the A320 FBW if that makes any difference - they're under Showcase -> External -> External 12... I can't remember the other one. Is there any way to map that to a joystick button? Thanks! In the evening, lights in the distance are very blurry. Is there any way to change this? A mod or something in usercfg.opt? I'm finding this very distracting... to the point it makes my eyes hurt. Let atmospheric haze impact sharpness, don't intentionally apply a blur filter to stuff. Ugh! It is very obvious because scenery in the distance (e.g. a mountain) will be perfectly sharp but the lights around it are very blurry - it's an immersion killer and a headache inducer!

I don't look at my logbook often but I was surprised to see my total hours was actually less than it used to be so I checked to see the earliest date and it said Jan 26 2021. I was definitely flying before then. odd. what does your claim?

Been following along other threads to overcome the latest performance obstacles due to Asobo releases and have tried most of the suggested remedies, the latest being removing the overhead menu bar. I too, had a very well running sim before the last Asobo upgrade. My system is a 9900K with 32 gigs of 4250 ram, m.2 hard drive, 3090 EVGA running a Samsung 27 inch 4k monitor at 30 fps or 60fps, what ever worked for the flight and I was using basically Ultra settings with the exception of a few personal preferences. With the latest suggestions from other simmers implemented, I found I had to still roll back my ultra settings first, most are on high now and the big 3 are 10…

Gdday, I think i'd be interested in flying the King Air but i'm a little bit spoiled by the TBM in combination with the WT and FD Mod. Are there any similar Mods you can recommend for the King Air aswell? Best regards, Tom

I've been using the TBM920 since release and am using this plane now for slower VFR flights but can't find what adjust the vertical speed rate, so I've had to use FLC exclusively. Thanks in advance!

I have been trying for a couple of days to find out why my eng 1 N1 doesn't go above about 20. Never being able to get full power. I have search and tried every thing relating to this. I have the Honeycomb Throttle. I've set it up for Single, Twin TBM900, 2 engine jet and 4 engine jet. I modified the 2 engine jet profile for the CRJ. That profile throttle has no problem with the default 2 engine jet. Yes I setup the EFB in the CRJ throttle. I start with the ready for taxi mode. Eng 2 is powered up and runs fine. In my research I found the P3D version of the CRJ had similar issues. Nothing on the FS2020 version. So I must be missing something. Any help would be appre…
