Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

a few days ago all of a sudden KLAX tarmac all pink...now has spread too all airport tarmacs only. Did some reading...Removed the community files / restarted the tarmacs are still pink. Then I deleated all the fs_base files in packages (77 gigs) restarted and it took almost 11 hours for the program to rebuild via update and guess what....tarmacs still pink. Then I checked DEV ON Debug Console errors....very few shown nothing related to textures or tarmac. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

I suspect this is nothing to be concerned about, and probably occurred when MSFS did a CTD when I hit exit instead of shutting down normally (and that's potentially more likely to be of concern than this) but has anybody else had this when launching the sim?: My guess is the data didn't save properly because of the CTD. Presumably, when the sim closes correctly, the data is transferred to the PC as part of the shutdown process and didn't have time to do so in this case. I selected the newer data - seemed logical. I took advantage of an ORBx offer of 200 Orbs for ENNO Notodden Airport this evening. I set up my usual quick circuit (departing runway 12), but I had to be careful because of the mountains interfering with a direct approach to the runway. I noted that there is an RNAV approach available for runway 12, and the charts indicate that this follows a valley until visual contact with the airport can be obtained. However, when I selected the RNAV 12 approach in the PMDG 737-600 FMC, it displayed this as a straight in approach. Brand new to the Fenix A320 but not to FlightSim. Over the past week I read quite a few documents and looked at several videos for the various of flight phases. Today I attempted my first flight and all worked well through taxiing to the runway threshold. When I attempted a takeoff roll, the throttles would not move out of the IDLE position (earlier the throttles were calibrated successfully). I thought the issue might be the controller so I used the keyboard to advance the throttles, arm the speed brake and try moving the flaps. None worked. MSFS did not freeze. Stupid question but are there any doc files for this chopper?

Lots of wind in the Caribbean these days meaning a lot of crosswind landings 😀. Very turbulent too. I know that the MSFS turb' is a topic of debate but driving the A2A Comanche from Pointe-à-Pitre to Marie Galante (perfect flight for a short attention span flyer), reminded me of some real arrivals in Miami or a dreadul flight in an Embraer from Talahassee to NO long ago (as a pax). Close to what I see in some You Tube filming real flights too. Needed a Go around but pleased with my landing.

For anyone who uses the CPFlight MCP/EFIS for the PMDG 737 and experiences input lag, there is a new driver update (Inst_FS2020_381) that can be downloaded from the CPFlight website. After installing the driver myself, I can confirm that the issue has now been resolved (big smiles all round)

Good morning, Coming from PMDGs great 737 i'd like to take the plunge starting to fly the 787. To keep it simple, i'd like to know which of the three available options (WT/Asobo, Horizon, Kuro) has the most in depth systems and flight model. You know what i mean. Aesthetically i'd prefer Kuros -8. For me it has just the best proportions. But i read that its flight model has its quirks. My next option would be Horizons -9 but i am unsure if it has the same systems as the -10 by WT. Is it basically using the same? Least favorable option for me is the -10 (going by the looks) but i would take that if it has the most advanced systems. So i am o…

In my exploration of the St Marten area, I came to a tiny desert island which has a delicious French name , île Tintamarre, which means Hullabaloo island. It is located a few miles East of TFFG Grande Case. Looking at the ground I saw what would be a very decent strip. Kind of a clearing in the bushes. What a Porter is made for ? I went for it ! There is also some remnants of human activities. So I went to do a little search and bingo!, between 1946 and 1950, it was the home base for a now defunct airline, Compagnie Aérienne Antillaise 😁. I alway use real live weather. How come the seas are alway calm? Rarely even see white caps. Am I missing some setting somewhere?

I am flying two aircraft that are still a work in progress. In one case the AC (PC-12) on the take off roll starts to skid or slide at speeds above 80 knots. I posted on their discord site, and a person flys that AC in real life and says that is the actual characteristic of the AC?? This AC also has coordinated yoke rudder, turning the yoke engages the rudder. This is a strange design to me. I don’t remember this AC having that characteristic in FSX or XPlane for that matter. My question is do you think FSX in general was dumbed down as far as actual flight characteristics? FSX in easy mode? I have a private pilots license, personally I wouldn’t fly …

When I click EXIT in the Dev Mode pull down menus - I get the GPU error message and the sim crashes. What config file or where else can I turn Dev Mode off BEFORE starting the sim because the sim always starts with it ON.

Community, Just getting back into MSFS 2020 after years of being away. I'm so old, I used to post on Microwings website and used subLogic as my addon scenery. Hello, Is it me or has the in sim ATC got worse since the recent update. I no longer get cleared to land when abeam the numbers in a circuit and do not get a handoff once runway vacated. Both worked fine prior to the recent update.

Per the manual because I know someone will say READ the Manual DID: The cockpit headrests can be used to show or hide the crew members and passengers. Clicking the pilot headrest will show/hide the pilot in the cockpit. Clicking the co-pilot headrest will show/hide the copilot and all passengers. Does NOT work...Can they screw this plane up anymore? How do you remove the Avatars?
