Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I went to the pilot portal in the SI app to add Walker Air virtual so my callsign is recognized for a PMDG B737 flight, but it is still telling me "invalid callsign". I entered "WAT" and it isn't working. Is it not possible to make a PMDG IFR flight using SI yet? Only general aviation aircraft? I have only the box ticked in the SI app for "use Simbrief callsign" , with no text in the above boxes like "Cessna two-five-four-whisky-tango". What's up with this? Thanks, AG

This is something I have not found a way to get rid of and I def don't want it. I have buttons on my yoke assigned to Custom Camera Views. My main view, the one I default to forward looking I have assigned to Custom Camera 2. And to view left, for example, to Camera 1 on another button. If I click Camera 2 button, then click it again, the cockpit view zooms way in. And this is true for all my assigned buttons--the 2nd hit does this and I'd much rather stop that! Also, FWIW, for some reason IFR Pilot Position View SAVE doesn't seem to work, at least the way it did in 2020. Maybe this is part of the issue dunno. Sofar I had a very reliable experience with 2024, however... I have a PPL and actually flew yesterday with a Robin DR400 from Seppe (EHSE). Afterwards I decided to simulate and compare this actual flight with MS 2020 and Ms2024. After having compared flight characteristics yesterday in 2024 with 2020 (same aircraft, airport and same live weather) I closed 2020 and reverted back to 2024. MSFS2024 started up in the normal way with the movie and timeline. However when fully loaded the menu does not appear and in the lower left corner I only see the Quit to desktop button, while the movie goes on for ever. Friday before last in a multiplayer flight we could all see each other no problem whether on beta or not... then last Friday it wasn't working at all.. everybody's FPS was way way down. unusable.. same multiplayer server we always use ( SE Asia ) but each week is a different part of the world. If you spawned in away from other players, things seemed to be normal. ( this happened to be in Oregon) We previously found that people on 2024 beta could see those not on beta and vice versa.

I have noticed that when using this airplane in FS2020 and 24 the frame rates are reduced by half compared to other planes. 1. Are other folk experiencing this too? 2.Anyone know if FBW are working on this problem ? Thanks Trevor

I cannot, for the life of me, successfully start the engine in the default TBM in MSFS2024. It struggles to get to 30%NG then it really struggles to get to 50%. Once it hits 50%, it stalls. Then, the battery drains. I have followed all the checklists. I even spawned it once on the runway, and when I started the flight it was stable for about 10 seconds, then the engine stalled. Don't tell me to just get the Black Square. That's not an answer. I like the G3000 and love the plane in MSFS2020. I've read the plane is not that great to begin with, but it seems like people can actually fly it! Just want to decide myself. Any help would be great.

Since the rolling cache stores what you frequently use, is there a way to determine how much a particular area uses. I normally fly in my area of the world which is North and South Carolina. What size would I need to make my cache? Would also like to get this info for a certain area in the world, like all the USA

It has been some time (nearly 1.5 years) since I took the PMDG 777F for a spin in P3Dv4, so my first look at the MSFS 2020 version was a mental exercise as I tried to remember the "flow" of setting up a short test flight (when compared to the PMDG 737). Hi, I recently installed flightsim2024 and attempted the ppl exam (as i do already hold one in the real world) leaving aside general moans about the clunkiness of the whole experience, I had a big problem at the end - after landing I got to the stop point and the mission steps flashed up 'press return to acknowledge stopped and request taxi' , but no matter how many times i press the enter key it doesn't do it - and then when i taxi off it flashes red and i cant finish the mission. any ideas

This might be a dumb question? During an IFR flight simple flight Kastrup CPH. to Århus I was doing ATC kept on telling me to continue to VH812 ? At first I thought it was a frequency,but didn't find any. Then I thought it could be an ICAO to an airport on the way to my destination, didn't find one either by that ID ?... I have to mention that the sim took its' time to start/continue past the Loading manager ( Looking for updates) Window tonight, If this could have enything to do with my confusion?... Any advice will help

Like a lot of people before me. I lost my profiles. My question is if I reinstall FS2024 will the default profiles for my devices be reinstall? Fortunately I have made very little changes to the sim. So I would not loose much. That I can easily reinstall. Thank You. Bill McCracken

In 2024 Career Mode (SU 1 Beta), the flight plan in the GPS is always offset to the left of the path (the glowing teal brackets in the air) shown in the sim. It doesn't affect it too much, but I wonder why the two aren't the same. Does this happen for anyone else?

When I install new drivers, I usually delete the shader cache but since installing the latest driver and enabling DLSS4 all I have is the following: C/users/myprofile/appdata/local/nvidia/DX cache which grows to only 4 GB C/users/myprofile/appdata/local ow/nvidia/DX cache which is empty My Nvidia control panel is set to use to use an unlimited shader cache Has the location or name of the cache changed or can anyone explain why my cache size does not grow beyond 4 GB? I've upgraded to the latest DLSS 4 for my RTX 3090 and when flying the Fenix, the altitude counter is still blurry. It's slightly better, but still no major improvements. TAA with AutoFPS mod is still better for me. I was really looking forward to using DLSS this time but unfortunately they still have some work to do.

My spec is medium end (low tier as in 2025). So I turned off the Fauna off and I got more stability in FPS, rural and dense areas. Probably the unoptimized fauna spawning is taking tolls on my end, and as a trade, I can increase plants and grass from medium to high. Probably a placebo but you could always try it. (I am using LSGG, AutoFps, DLSS4, and RTSS fps Cap). Note: I haven't seen any fauna since I bought 2024 in early December after all.

Hello all, A couple of problems have just arisen for me in MSFS2020. I recently posted a topic asking for Modern ui 2.0 which I have acquired with thanks. When I unzipped it and before installation, I then went looking in my community folder and it was already there. So I rebooted the computer and fired up MSFS2020. To my dismay I noticed two things 1. I have retained the original ui, and 2. Despite using MSFS map replacement to start the program, I noticed that the scenery (TAI scenery YBCS) is very very standard MSFS2020. so I deleted that scenery and reinstalled it. For some reason in MSFS2024, I can't do long flights. Because after several minutes, the flight stops and this message pops up: This is in the middle of a flight, I was not in the 2024 Marketplace. The result after is like the plane has hit an invisible wall, the plane crashes and the flight ends! Does anybody know what is going on?

I have had really good luck with AS 2020. But for some reason on a medium to long flight towards the end on decent the clouds turn into a slide show. a quick studder every 2-3 seconds? Anyone else?

Pretty simple one, in Sayintentions entourage I want to get rid of the taxiway line that comes up. On the UI it just says “taxiway path” clicking on it, just makes a noise and yet I’m still getting the arrows. Driving me nuts that there isn’t a simple on/off. Am I missing something? TIA!
