Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Playing on High settings (default set for my GTX 2060 by the game) and all distant scenery seems excessively blurry, more so than in other sims. I've noticed something similar on some other screenshots out there. Is it supposed to be like that?

Started the sim today after using it for 2 weeks, for some reason it started asking me all the initial setup questions again. When I went into controllers, all my controllers have been defaulted again. I'm resigned to the fact I will need to redo them all again, but is there a file somewhere I can backup once I have done it again incase this happens again?

Hi there, I understand this request comes from my own laziness, but has anyone created a FSX keyboard bindings file that could be imported into 2020? i understand it may not be feasible because of too many newly added features, but the older I get, the more “challenging” it is to memorize new key bindings 😎 Cheers, Pete

Hi, I know there are addons to change the liveries for the user selectable aircraft, which is great (community folder). I have also seen how to replace the specific airliner type i.e. A320 (official folder). However, what I was looking for was if there have been real world liveries developed for the Generic Airliners yet? These would be the ones located here in the folder shown below (official folder). I know that you can not just drop specific liveries into these general liveries as the aircraft modeling is totally different. This covers all of the VOR tracking stuff ..even APR which is good. Most tutorials I find are only about GPS.

It's a Saturday morning. Folks are out jogging, taking their bikes for rides and heading out for a cappuccino and a breakfast with the family. I'm stuck in my car, leaning forward to look at the clouds, keeping check on the leaves moving in the breeze and heading in the general direction of Me Time: the air field. I believe it's possible with FSX/P3D. And MSFS keyboard command lists F11 key for changing aircraft. But when I pressed it during the flight nothing happens. By all means, is it possible to change planes after the flight starts in MSFS?

Has anyone had issued with clouds in the microsoft flight sim 2020? Mine seem to be pixelated and not forming correctly. My frame rate is around 35-40 but the clouds look pretty bad. I have dialled settings to low to see if that was the issue but same problem. Also tried a different monitor and got the same result. I have seen nothing on this online and hoping i am not the only one who has this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am running a GTX 2070 with ryzen 7 CPU.

A lot of people seem to have stuttering problems. Many of these maybe caused by running background processes. Whilst I knew what most of them did in older versions of Windows, I am less familiar with Windows 10. Are MSFS users turning off or disabling any background processes? Which ones were causing issues, etc. Virus checkers were always known to cause problems I recall. I think I also remember disk indexing causing them too.

Do you feel disappointed? I’m kinda bummed out that my city, Dubai, one of the best in the world in terms of skylines and infrastructure, isn’t modeled in photogrammetry. I get that there’s a dedicated team for Bing maps but their lack of recent updates makes me have less hopes in them. From what I see, many prominent cities in major countries aren’t modeled as well. I guess this is where third-party scenery developers could come in, but the cities which do have photogrammetry by default look really incredible. I guess you can’t have it all.

The sim has been working perfectly well for me since launch. Only had 1 random CTD which happened yesterday (it crashed when I tried to enter a RNAV approach). Today, when I fire up the sim, I get infinite loading on the tbm screen. Tried restarting several times without a different outcome. I also notice that the music is playing continuously in the background, but in my settings I have music off, so it seems to be a server related issue (it downloads the settings from the cloud, right? Or at least it doesn't start my settings first, it probably wants to contact the server b4 applying my settings). Anything I can do, and am I alone in experiencing this?

What must I do to stop seeing "Airspeed Above -1.0 Knots" and "Incorrect Altimeter Setting" I press B and nothing seems to happen.

I've had the sim since it came out. I've been throwing everything at it I've got in reference to tweaks and tricks, but nothing is getting me to an acceptable frame rate worth playing. Here is my setup: i5 6600k Overclocked 22% 32GB RAM GTX 1660 SC Ultra 6GB 1920x1080 resolution All in game settings at Low or Off. If anyone has a similar setup and is able to fly it let me know. For me it is just constant freezes, jerkiness and stutters. Not really anywhere close to being playable for me. I know my processor is a little old, but this setup still hammers almost any game. I paid my 30 bucks, the 182 downloads fine and when it starts to install it freezes MSFS everything. It puts the folder in the location where it belongs. I have to control all delete to get out of the sim then I can't restart the sim till I delete the created c182 folder out of the folder its in. Anyone know where to go to ask for a refund or solution?

So after a full week now I continue to be utterly amazed by this new sim. Over the last twenty years I can't remember a flight sim release that impressed me as much as this one does. My home airfield (EPWS) is located in the sim 300ft below it's actual ral-world elevation. It creates a kind of valley/depression in the immediate vincinity of the airfield. Any option to change the elevation? With SDK? Is there any airfield editor in the SDK allowing modyfying the default airfields? Is there some global height value or every bit of mesh, scenery must be painstakinlgy editied one by one? Is this possible to create a copy of the default airfield and cover the default one with a copy (to have the default one still available just in case)?

As can be seen below, my system is on the old side. I can easily see that performance is going to be severely challenged in complex scenarios sooner or later so I plan to purchase an i7-9700 based system. My question is, what is the proper way to get my Premium Deluxe installation of MSFS from the old machine to the new machine after it arrives. Or more likely how to properly uninstall from old. And then reinstall on new? Presently, the 1-Gig MS-app is on my "C:" drive and the main 120-something gig program on an independent 2TB SSD. Where can I find the 2. Services Menu so that I can confirm that I am using Satellite Data Streaming and not No World Streaming ?

I am sorry if this is not appropriate but I am at my wits end. I have uninstalled and downloaded/installed 5 times now and no one from Microsoft has responded so I thought maybe someone here has seen/fixed this. I purchased the premium edition through the MS Store. I see it in my owned apps area. I click on it to install it and it does. It works too and I can't wait to see this thing grow. However, I have NONE of my premium content. The store asks me for redemption codes I have never seen. Even more strange, the Xbox app shows that what is installed is the base package for their subscription service (which I don't have so I don't know why it's there to begin with)…

I went to check out the night lighting at Miami last night and I started from this small airfield outside city limits and when I went to the outside view, there were wonderful sounds of crickets. a few days ago, I was flying north towards KSWF and in external view (why are there two external views??) and I positioned myself just above the tree line and you can hear birds chirping. I'll bet some of these little nicities are the cause of some peoples stutters but it sure is nice to have. Used to be only at Orbx you'd get these things. havent seen a butterfly yet though...or a dog...critters pack $14.99... 🙂
