Pilot2ATC Bug Reporting Forum

The place for beta testers and others to report bugs in Pilot2ATC

  1. Started by Michael Hummel,

I bought P2ATC on Friday, and was running it fine over the weekend (Windows 10 64-bit, X-Plane 10.51 Steam, along with XPUIPC) with the default Microsoft voices and a variety of aircraft. Things were going so well, I decided to buy some voices from CereProc. I installed these and selected them in the Config>Voices page, and when tested they worked fine. I didn't get time to try a complete flight with the new voices, and then sometime over the weekend Windows installed an update and my computer restarted. Now P2ATC will not even start. It appears to go through the 10%, 20%,....90% loading, and then the window closes, briefly reopens, and then closes. I sti…

When I was doing a flight from SBCF to SBRJ SID UGRA1A transition DEJAN star UGRA1C transition TOKIM, at the approach fase the ATC said: TAM 3084 climb to flight level 160. I was at six thousand feet and the next waypoint was to three thousand one hundred feet. After it, the ATC said: TAM 3084 mantain six thousand feet and I had to get off to three thousand one hundred feet. The program also crashed a few times. Other times, the active runway does not the same as the program Pilot2atc. Also needs upgrade the airac! And finally, at the TOD point the ATC did not say to go down. It happened only few moments after to pass the TOD point.

Hi Dave, I have some voices by Cereproc that I use to add a bit of variety to the ATC. I have noticed that since the 21 update the reply in the 'Pilot' voice is always Microsoft Anna no matter what I designate it as in the 'voices' config tab. All other voice designations seem to work OK. I have Windows 7 and X-Plane. Thanks. Dave Simmons.

  6. I'm speculating that this is an issue with the G1000, but I thought I'd ask here. When i generate a flight plan, P2ATC adds in the TOD waypoint. I export the plan as an FMS, and select and activate it on the G1000 from within the sim. When I do this, I get wild, non-sensical values, such as thousands of miles distance to the airport that I'm taking off from. Manually removing the TOD waypoint from the exported .fms, and the G1000 reads it normally and the waypoints are correct. Other aircraft with standard XP GNS430 instruments are able to read the flight plan with the TOD point. I'm a new Pilot2ATC user and overall am really enjoying a new level of realism th…

  7. Started by Gregg_Seipp,

I'm not sure if P2A uses FSUIPC or not. I downloaded the latest beta and got a crash from it today at departure frequency change. Not sure if that's random or what (I don't think I've ever gotten a crash from FSUIPC before). Today's the last day of my demo. *sigh* I'll keep an eye on the forums.

Doing a flight from SBSP (São Paulo) to SBCF (Belo Horizonte) the Pilot2atc stoped work when I was at the approach fase, appeared the message: Minimum Atitude set to MInimum SID altitude at SCP. The program didn't give descend instructions and this message appeared some times. The options ATC Assigns Sid, Stars and Approaches was selected. There was some altitudes wrongs; waypoint OPKES FL190, and the next waypoint TOD FL250. How can the TOD stay bigger then the waypoint previous. The flight plan was: SBSP SID PUKR1C RW 17R, STAR ISVA1A RW16, APPR ILS RW16 I16X CF009 SBCF

Since the last 2-3 updates (17-19 I think?) I have not been able to save any flight plan in .vbf format The config/Flt Pln tab points to the correct save folder. The save function seems to execute but no file is produced. I am using X-Plane on Windows 7 Thanks Dave Simmons

A small problem I know. When I used to change frequency by clicking the COM1 and the STBY frequency swapped over, there was a ding/ping sound. This does not happen now. Although this is a minor problem it is very useful to me as I use the copilot to automatically change frequency and the ping sound is a good indicator that it has been done. Thanks Dave Simmons

Dave, This version worked very well. I did a flight between EGLL and EHAM. I was assigned a SID at Heathrow. ATC gave climb instructions to my cruise altitude. I was assigned a STAR into EHAM in plenty of time. I was assigned REDFA 1A to the ILS rnwy 06. The only issue, and it may be my ignorance about the way the STAR is supposed to be flown, is that the end of the STAR is to fly the 292 radial to the SPL VOR. I was given those instructions and cleared to the ILS for 06 by approach control. I don't know if approach is supposed to vector to the AF? I just flew it myself. I was not handed off to the tower at all. All in all a good flight.

Doing a flight today from YMAV-YSSY. The filed altitude was FL370. I was given an initial altitude of 4000 by clearance. Just after take off I was cleared to 13000. When I was passed to center I was instructed to descend to 5000. The next time I was contacted by center I was told to maintain 5000 ft. At that point I checked the UI and it said altitude pinned at 5000. I'm not sure exactly what happened.

After updating to 20113, I find when I request taxi clearance I am told to contact tower on 121.72, and when I request taxi clearance again using this frequency, I am told to contact ground on 119.70, and then ground tells me to contact tower on 121.72....and so it goes on...! (Newcastle airport,UK) This has never happened before, must be something in v13 that changed something for the worse while fixing something else!

What happens to me is not new (also versions prior to 2.0.1.11): When I receive instructions for taxi type "Taxi to rw aa via taxiways xx, xy and xz, hold short rw aa...", when I confirm (I say the same) DO NOT RECOGNIZED. However in green letters I can see exactly the text that was expected to say. That is, the ATC again repeat the same thing as if P2A had not recognized my copy. It happen both: taxi to the rw and to the gate. Then I fix it clicking the button SayIt, and it is recognized, of course. Regards

Really pleased to see the ability to direct speech output to a selected device, thanks for implementing this! However, I'm getting an error when I set the speech output device to my plantronics/microphone device (USB connected - classed as 'Speakers' in Windows audio playback devices). When I set it to this device and then switch to the Voices tab and click tst an exception is thrown. If I set the device to another output, such as the TV (HDMI) or RealTek High Definition Audio (also classed as 'Speakers' in Windows audio playback devices) clicking the tst button works and I her the speech as expected. Please see this image to help visualise this: https://s16.…

Tried a flight today with the new version in P3Dv3.4. The flight was from YMML to YPAD with a cruise altitude of FL380. From dialing in the Atis until right around TOD everything went perfectly. I was given climb instructions all the way up until FL380. I was just at TOD (maybe just a little past it) when I was given instructions to descend to FL180. I was handed off to Adelaide approach but never given instructions to descend. I asked to descend to 4000 feet but my request was denied and I was instructed to climb and maintain FL420. I paused the sim and checked the UI. All of the altitudes had been changed to FL420. I'm not sure what happened to cause that. I was never a…

The ATIS function introduced in version 2.0.1.11 is very welcome! But there seems to be a minor bug. The only way to stop ATIS report is to dial a valid frequency from the "Nearby" frequency list. Changing to any other frequency doesn't stop ATIS report.

  21. I think something is broken in 2.0.1.10 because now I am not being cleared for higher altitude after takeoff. I tried two flights I have flown many times kphx-ksan and klax-klas with same result. In each flight I created flight plans with SID, START and Approach included. Example in Loop7 klax SID I get cleared to maintain 13000. I get transfered to departure and to center but none tell me climb to higher altitude. If I ask for higher I do get cleared but in the past I always got steps to the cruise altitude. In one flight I tried climbing wihtout clearance and ATC didn't complain either. Is like ATC is not aware of my actual altitude. I check the configuration in cas…

For the love of god, I cannot make the ATC understand the word kilo. It understands all other military phrases, but it translates kilo to Q every time no matter how clear I say it. I tried using the grammar helper and trained the word many times and it's still the same? Can anyone please try to make an IFR clearance to an airport that has a K in it and tell me if it's the same for them. Please, it's driving me crazy and I don't know what else to do. Love the new updates, though. Speech recognition training was a very good call

Hello. After a few days of using the Pilot2ATC demo with everything working well, I started getting CTD's when trying to connect to X-Plane When I first encountered this problem X-Plane was having a bit of a moment. It seemed to have re-initialsed itself, didn't show the normal option start screen and went straight to the default Cessna. SkyMaxx had also gone back to its defaults. When I pressed 'Connect' in Pilot2ATC it popped up with "PILOT2ATC_2016 has stopped working" (Image 1) Thinking XPUIPC may also have been affected, I deleted the old folders and reinstalled XPUIPC and XPWIDEFS. This didn't help so I changed the server address in XPUIPC to the correct IP. A…

Hello. Here's a fast way to see the problem. 1) Start Pilot2ATC 2) Click New | for a new flightpaln 3) Click + Wpt | to add a new waypoint 4) Type EGNT | for Newcastle airport UK 5) Click + Wpt 6) Type LEPA | For Palma airport Majorca 7) Click + STAR 8) Click LOAD in the STAR Dialogue to accept the default STAR The result will fly you from Northern England, to Southern England, to Majorca, then backwards and forwards between Majorca and Southern England four times before allowing you to land. I'm no expert but I suspect that's not the most economic route Joking aside, there's definitely something weird going on, after this STAR has been drawn up, Pilot2ATC won't l…

  25. Hi Dave, 1/I checked the "Load Cleared Flt Pln" and the "Export Cleared Flight Plan" option. The export Fp works like a charm but the autoload cleared Fp to Fsx don't work for me. (Last version). 2/During several Ga flights I had the following problems : a/After getting the Clearance... "Lancair One Victor Bravo is cleared to Echo Golf Charlie Charlie as filed. Maintain Flight Level Zero Three Zero. Expect higher clearances five minutes after departure Squawk Six Three Three Five" ...I have never higher clearance (in this case it was FL60 entered in Cruise Alt). b/During vectoring by Atc the descent occurs much too late. I must go down to + -1500fpm ev…
