I know this maybe off subject for this forum but I can not use my simulator since Microsoft update KB4038788 came out. I read all the forums and the best solution I read was to uninstall the update. That is the problem I uninstalled the update but it came back like a bad flu. Please someone detail how to delete the update and keep it uninstalled. I am using Windows 10 Home . I feel Microsoft thinks we are all stupid and we can not control our own updates. I am not very good with computer so make this a simple please

I have a 128GB SSD for my main Windows 10 drive... I'm not sure whats taking up so much room.. I was at 30GB the other week, now down to 15GB! Is there any app or methods that I can use to determine what is taking up all that space so that I can free up some room on my main SSD?

Is there anyone using VAFS with Windows 10? I'm having error loading VAFS and when I try to login it crashes. Already tried to uninstall VAFS and install again, no success Also install and Start it with Administrator Rights and compatibility mode Windows 7 No Success. I enter username and password click ok and then i reveive the following message Unhandled exception in the application. Click on Continue to ignore the error and continue the application. For some reason I keep on getting this Send Assistant pop up everytime I use P3D. All my anti virus software is up to date and hasn't detected any issue, please note that this only happens when using P3D, I don't have any other programs installed on my system so cannot say if it happens with any other. I can still use P3D when I cancel the pop up, but it is very annoying that it keeps on popping up! Any ideas?

At first I thought I was having issues with P3D v4 but it looks more like that Win 10 is the culprit. I've embarked on a mammoth reinstall of Win 10 and P3D V4 and so today I have installed Acronis, 3 FSDT airports and TrackIR. I went on my first proper flight out to the mountains around Zurich. After about 30 minutes I was on final to a small airfield when the whole sim crashed. It froze completely, with nothing to do other than switch off at the power button. On rebooting, the whole system went at a snail's pace and took about 5 minutes to open P3D. So Guys Last weekend i had the problems with sim connect which were covered . Having played with this for days i decided to re installed win 10 and start again. During the install the system kept stalling so i thought i may have an issue with the SSD so i swapped it out for a new seagate HSSD 1 tb dive. this has arrived today and i quickly popped it in and started the install. I got to my new desktop and started to load chrome, and a the current nvidia drivers when the system froze. Since then i have been unable to reboot the system. Help! Windows 10: Uninstalled OneDrive with control panel. Change registry value for linked to 0 which is supposed to remove OneDrive from Explorer but it does not. I can delete folders under OneDrive for Documents, Prepare3D v3 Addons and Prepare3D v3 Files but every time I launch P3D the folders in OneDrive I deleted are restored. P3D still thinks my %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Prepar3D v3 Files path includes OneDrive. I can type CD %USERPROFILE%\Documents at the DOS prompt in the command window and it correctly goes to c\Users\myusername\Documents. Why does P3D continue to think the document path is under OneDrive? Unless I can sort this out, I have to copy …

Many programs nowadays require internet for activation at some point and I've noticed that I keep getting errors that amount to what I think is: "We can't connect to the internet to activate such and such." I am working on a new install of Windows 10, I am currently typing this forum post while on this PC, so that I am obviously connected to the internet. So my question is, is there some setting in Windows 10 that might be preventing the online activation from working?

Hello, lately when I have crashes with P3D I look into my eventviewer and I see a lot of "Cypress Trackpad Module: CyCpIo.Exe" errors... I deleted the programme from my PC but the error is still there, I don't have a Mac or so or some trackpad... What I have is a mousemat from Razer but I don't think that's the error somehow... I have spybot search and destroy and malwareantibytes, do I really need Windows defender as well? I'm afraid all these apps are using resources in the background while I am flying in my flight sim. Will it have a noticeable affect on performance? Do you guys recommend having Windows Defender on or off? I'm trying to keep background processes to a minimum to get the most out of my simming experience. What can you guys recommend? Are there any tips, tricks, or programs that will allow me to monitor what processes are loaded during windows startup and running in the background and give me the option to disable it permanently?

For the past few weeks I've been noticing something a bit strange that I haven't noticed before. Whenever I turn on my computer and boot up Windows. Even after I login, I notice that the HDD/SSD activity light remains on constantly for a really long time. Even though I'm not doing anything. It'll stop after maybe 10 or more minutes. I'm kinda paranoid. Is there a way to figure out what application or exactly what is being written/read from my HDD?

I have recently moved over to a W10 (Pro) and reloaded FS9, no cd patch etc etc. FS9 is running great as a stand alone system. However I cannot get AES to work at all. My last installation was version 2.41, and I had over 30 activated airports. I updated to W10 and then AES 2.45 and most of my airports are not recognised. I know AES uses the scenery.cfg file, so I checked that and noticed that the scenerys were not running in sequence and the layers were not matching. Never had that before, so sorted that with FSM tool. But AES just does not want to recognise my airports. Tried Aerosoft airport, freeware airports, other payware and most do …

Hi, With the prospect of creating a new system next year,I was wondering if I should update to windows 10 pro now. My real concern is my x55 stick and throttle and will they still work without issue under windows 10.Can anyone please advise that has this setup ? I also have the yoke and tq but use the x55 more often Thanks

Hi I'm going to purchase Windows 10 but was concerned that Windows update would automatically install newer drivers for my video card when I may not want the lates driver is it possible to select what updates are installed like you can with Windows 7. . Thanks,Jim

Hey guys so i have recently updated to win 10 crestors update. And i have issues with my saitek throttle and rudder pedals not working. Well they are, but just the green lights all 00000 date, time etc etc is showing and but not working. All drivers are up to date I dont know with this update has done. This is a new FSX install and Windows 10. I have Win 10 Creator's Update running FSX with Acceleration, several plane addons, and that's it. Everytime I exit FSX I get this notification. I've right clicked on the Properties of the FSX Shortcut and adjusted the compatibility mode (I tried Win 7 and Vista) but I still get this notification after I exit FSX everytime. Any idea how to get rid of this notification? Thanks.

My PC just installed (on its own...) the Creator´s update. On the beginning I just got minor issues but today it surfaced a major one - my home network has been messed up! I made a search and it seems this is a very common issue, It seems it is a Creator´s update driven problem. In my case my main PC (that has the Creator´s update) sees OK my laptop but I cannot access my main PC from the laptop (nor can I have access to the FS shared drives/folders). It requests a username/password to access but I don´t have any! Does anyone faced this issue and most importantly has a solution? Those I found at the net didn´t solve this problem. Hi all, Lately Chrome has been acting strange; slow on startup (even though it's running in the tray) and very sluggish. I decided to download Malwarebytes and see what the issue was. I now get random reports of "Website Blocked: Outbound Connection of server1.westmodelworldtodaynow.com:55050". So obviously I have something downloaded, that I do not want. I have run Malwarebytes pro, AVG free, and Avira AntiVirus, and nothing has caught this issue. Anyone got a good (free) decent antivirus?

My current system had win 7. In preparation for P3DV4, I decided to go with installing Win 10 in second new SSD. I unplugged my C: Drive with win 7 OS and used another SATA point to add the second (new) SSD and installed Win 10 on it and booted off of this to make sure everything was good and it looked good and I could boot in win 10 I theb plugged in my Win 7 OS SSD as well and when I booted, it took me to BIOS to pick the boot drive.. and it seemed to go through the drill for me to pick the boot drive via the BIOS. Since I know at some point, I would get rid of my win 7, I then unplugged the Win 7 SSD and booted (with win 10 drive as the boot drive). thin…

As some of you may know i recently downloaded the FSX steam version on my computer. I have windows 10 and I was trying to access the program files for FSX and could not find it. Is FSX playing through the steam program or what? I wanted to access the program files for FSX to get familiarized with it before I attempt to download add-ons since that requires you to go inside the folders of the FSX program. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi all. I use P3D3.4 coupled with a few add-ons, and am now looking for a new security software that works well with Windows 10, P3d and addons such as Ezdok. I used ESET and to be fair it is a good virus software, but it is just too strong, and you feel like you might as well lock yourself out of your PC, because it it stops everything working. Even when you try and exclude Ezdok from the realtime scaning it won't remember to do that. I have heard that some of the best AV programs are Bitdefender and Kaspersky for intrusion and URL threats. Both look very good, but do they stop Ezdok or create any problems with P3D? Has anybody used these progr…

Hi, Some point fairly soon I'm putting together a new box since my old box had a mobo failure I'm pretty certain. I have a copy of Win 7 I can use. What is expected downside of NOT using Win 10 as it related to P3D V4? Win 7 has been flawless for P3D V3 for me and as to 'security updates' going away for Win 7 it may be irrelevant because my P3D V4 install will never be used for anything except P3D V4 and its addons--no web browsing, no email, no MS Office, etc. This is how my V3 install was for 4.3y and I never had to reinstall the OS the entire time so I'd like to continue this practice. I understand DX12 isn't used for V4.

Figured this may be the best forum for this topic. I recently loaded FSX steam and I am beginning again from a long hiatus and I am out of the loop on a lot of things obviously. Right now I am just running the standard version and have not yet attempted to download and install any types of add-ons yet. My question is when I do begin that process is it best to totally deactivate AVG free version as I download and install new additions to the program? And when that process is done and I reactivate AVG will it interfere with the FSX program running properly?
