Since version 1803 of Windows 10 the screensaver won't start unless I disconnect or disable my CH pedals. I posted about this issue over here. Anyone else noticed the same thing?

Just finished reinstalling Windows 10 (x64), P3Dv4 and most of my many and varied addons, after a hardware rebuild. Some addons require additional installations of various flavours of MS Visual C++ and Simconnect etc. After these additional MS installations, I’ve noticed a recurring issue when then installing other addons and software…. I have to admit, I absolutely hate Windows 10! An OS too clever for it's own good. Anyway, I could do with some help. I had been experiencing some issues with P3DV4 not working correctly. After submitting flight details etc and clicking start flight, it would begin to load a flight and then simply disappear from the screen. No explanation or anything. Having initiated several different actions to try and get it working, with no success, I decided to do a system restore. After the system restore initiated, it appeared that the screen was stuck on the action for about half an hour, far longer than I have experienced before, so I left it for another 30 minutes. Hello, I think I have ballsed up my PC with win 10 32bit free upgrade installed. it can't find windows may be hard drive gone or corrupted, I have also a paid copy of win 10 64 bit Pro which is used on my Main pc, Photoshop/ P3d v4, /etc this is fine. firstly is it possible to redownload the win free 10 32 bit version from anywhere to be able to try reinstalling, 2nd can I use the win 10 repair disk made from the pro version I own or are they specific to a particular disk, unfortunately, the PC,s are at this moment in different locations 40 miles apart which is proving to be a Pain as I don't want to waste time on an 80 mile round trip for nothing many thanks …

I am currently running windows 10 pro 1709 since a couple of weeks ago had problems with my computer. I am having problems uninstalling fsx gold edition from the control panel/ add and remove programs. I press remove and nothing happens. Thus what is going on ? and how do I fix this problem. I have been using fsx gold edition since it came out in 2006 So please help me!!!! thanks, Ronny

since windows update on 20 oct 18 KB4100347: Intel microcode updates I have lost the association of.cfg to notepad. I've tried the usual thing like always open with notepad. I got windows to search online, and it came up with notepadx and I was able to associate .cfg with this app.

Hi Guys Been away from home for nearly 6 months. After returning, and updating Windows, my network has gone crazy! All my settings appear the same in the sharing centre, but none of my PCs now appear to 'see' each other. I can share new folders, which become visible on the network, but ONLY if I map them. I no longer see any of the 'Public' folders across the network:-( What did MS do?

Two days ago I have installed W10 1803 Dutch version on my new SSD m2 2TB. That day and yesterday several updates were installed. This morning W tried to install more than 20 updates, and for multiple updates I got a 800705aa error ( unable to install update ). All these updates are driver updates for hardware and no security updates. I do not even want some of them to install as there was also an Nvidia driver listed and I have the lastest installed already. Is there a way to fix this 800705aa error and also a way to prevent some of them from installing ? Thanks in advance, Gerard

I am having a little issue after I reset my OS. Whenever I download a program, my files in File Explorer are not formatted correctly. For instance: my P3D CFG file is just a blank sheet of paper on the screen, even though it suppose to default to notepad. So I have to physically click on notepad when it asks me what I want it opened as. But it never saves it so I have to do this every time. It’s like that for everything. .exe and .xml files are acting funny too. Does anyone know how to fix this? I’ve never run into this issue before...

Hi Everyone The task bar is giving me big headaches. Normally it sits nicely at the bottom of my left monitor [I have 3]. Two days ago when I fired up the computer it had moved to the right side of the right monitor. Next time I fired up it moved itself to the top of the right monitor. I did nothing I know of to cause this. Yesterday, i did not have a task bar at all. Did some research and I finally have it back, but on the left side of the left most monitor. I prefer it at the bottom. I have checked that it is not locked. Then at the settings line "task bar location on screen" it shows as left, but it will not let me change it to "bottom". So MS in their majestic wisdom insist on downloading soundcard drivers, graphics drivers AND even drivers for my Saitek controllers.... even though I do not want any of them... for good reason. I am literally at the end of my tether. They are sucking the life from my very soul. What the heck is wrong with those people ? Do they have the IQ of a gnat ? - I do NOT want new GeForce drivers. - I do NOT want Realtek drivers, ad they cause issues with my Soundblaster. - I do NOT want the Saitek drivers as I use other programs to assign functions. I'm about to acquire a new Windows 10 PC because my old (XP Pro) one struggled with FSX-SE, even offline and Steam is no longer suporting XP after December 31st. Saitek/Logitech don't have driver support for XP any more either. I mostly use Majestic's Dash 8 Q400, which will work on Win 10 but I'm seeing lots of (older) posts on forums saying FSX-SE won't work on Windows 10!! Is that still the case, or has someone come up with a patch / workaround?

Just giving kudos to Microsoft for what I feel is their best, most stable O/S release to date. I have never had a lockup in Windows 10, and the speed is stunning. Only thing missing was Comdlg32.ocx for legacy Win 95 app support, so I added it to the OS and registered it. And Chess Titans, so I downloaded it so I can enjoy a good game of chess with an unargumentative operating system that always manages to beat a formerly outstanding chess player, I guess I am just not the abstract thinker I was in high school and college. Hi I stored some PMDG files in my user folder in windows10 but now my user folder had vanished. I have hid and unhid it and all that stuff. As you can see, it is not where it should be. james jackson

Hey guys! I had to restart my PC yesterday using the power button after I ran into an issue with the USB controller suddenly stopped working resulting in no keyboard nor mouse. I managed to RDP into the PC from my mobile phone and thought I was able to restart my PC successfully. But the screen never came on again after the reboot showing 'No signal'. So, in the end I had to shut it down by holding the physical power button depressed for a couple of seconds.After this all seemed good and Windows started up just fine with no issues. Hi, I've suddenly had a large drop in frames that I think may be win10 related, possibly an update that has done this but i'm not sure how to check if this is correct I only have windows defender and then run malware bytes occasionally so I'm guessing it might have something to do with defender but I have no idea how to turn defender off completely and check frames again any ideas on what might be the cause of this sudden slow down or how to kill defender I've added nothing new hardware or software but for example my UK2000 EGPH has gone from 30 down to 5 when using the fslabs A320 thanks

So I've done searches on finding all the settings to disable the lock screen from appearing when I'm flying in P3D4 v4.2. I've disabled the process, i've checked all the power management settings do disable it from going to sleep and unfortunately randomly on longer flights where I haven't interacted with the PC I'll come back and the lock screen is displayed. If I key in my PIN the flight resumes but my fuel has appeared to continue burning without moving thus ruining the flight. I have two computers both running Win10 Pro on my home network. One computer is named FS-COMP (Gigabyte) and the other is named Gauges (Asus). They are both home built and work well. I have several shared locations on both FS-COMP and Gauges and all shared locations were accessible without issue on each computer until a week ago. The event that seemed to trigger the problem was putting a powered USB 3.0 PCIE card into FS-COMP, but I can’t imagine why. The PCIE card loaded the same drivers as other USB HID’s in Device Manager. hello Folks, im wondering about onedrive. i run a network with fsx se and since i upgraded to w10, nothing but problems in getting files shared and so forth. Im hearing some good things about onedrive, Can i use ondrive to share files between computers, meaning having FSX on one machine, and PRO ATC , Activesky on another. The same way you share files the usual way. right now w10 seems a little weird in how to save files. in fact i had to do a go around for the files to even show up. So the main question is will Onedrive work in that way. Thx..................RobertC

Hi, Just got a new ssd in addition to the one I'm currently using, as its free space keeps getting smaller and smaller. Now, since the bulk of the occupied space belongs to p4d and its addons that reside in either scenery, addons or documents folders I'd like to move some of that to the new drive to free up some space on the C drive. I know one can create a sort of "link" or pointer in my p4d installation (residing on drive C) to keep the folder architecture intact, yet keeping the actual space occupying data on another drive (in my case E). So my question is really, how do I go about it?

Just wondering if anyone has had any issues with P3D v4.3 after applying these two updates. I updated late last week and experienced the following - P3D would immediately CTD with no error message when loading any A2A aircraft with GTN750 installed. I also had a P3D crash mid-flight with a different aircraft. I uninstalled both updates and have not had any problems since, but I have not seen reports of anyone else having issues so I'm wondering if I'm the only one. Rich
