Is there a way to specify a callsign, something other than Air Force (which didn't work when I tried it), NAVY, etc., so Pilot2ATC will recognize?

Would it be possible to have extra controller loaded to the chatter files ? Seems that Pilot2ATC detects the FIR boundary between US States ie : K1 K2 etc, could it then have Local ATC Centres change to the Oceanic Centres for crossing the Atlantic/Pacific oceans long haul flights ? Thats if it can also detect the FIR in Oceanic areas which it should be capable off. Quite a few of us have had RC4 and do have the files for Oceanic controllers that can be used already. Totally different sounds to VHF with Oakland, Shannon, Gander, Auckland, Brisbane Oceanic etc. Just an idea may be worth considering in the future.

I am having issues with voice recognition. Some phrases it hears and understands perfectly and others are just way off during the same flight. For instance, "Tower Skyhawk Three Lima Sierra is one five miles south at five thousand five hundred feet inbound for landing" was recognized as "Wilco Skyhawk Three Lima Sierra Squawk Nine Seven Five Thousand Five Hundred Four Local". As such I can never get Tower to give me any runway assignments or how to enter the pattern. (This was a VFR flight from KPDT to KALW). I tried v23 out this morning on my normal quick test route from EGNT to EGPH and chose runway 24 to land on. All went well until vectors to the approach were given and for some reason the vectors to 24 were given along with altitude changes, followed immediately by vectors to runway 6, which I had not chosen. The last instruction was a vector to runway 6 and then atc went home with no more communication. I have not experienced this before ie both ends of the same runway being active. Maybe just me again doing something wrong.

Simple question I hope. Let's say I want to do a series of touch and goes at my local Airport which is towered. How do I go about requesting clearance to do touch-and-goes, closed traffic work, in Pilot2ATC?

P2A 2.2.2.1. Route EGKK->LGSK. I've never really monitored P2A's cpu usage before, but is this normal? [EDIT] I shut P2A down mid-flight, then started it again, re-filed flight plan etc and now CPU usage is down to less than 1% so all seems well.

Hello Are there any plans to incorporate an ILS glide slope graphic or screen in order to confirm glide slope capture? Just a quick thought / question.

Is there anyway to control the ifr clearance timeout window? I call for clearance at gate, go thru the whole pushback, taxi requests with no problem, get to the active, let tower know I'm holding and then I get a notice that my clearance is not good anymore and to refile and go thru the whole process over again?? great program otherwise!

Sometimes I get a little jingle playing when P2A has finished speaking, I think this is more of a windows speech thing, but I can find no option to stop it.

Anyway to get the transponder mode to recognize the GTN750?

I have seen videos of P2A where the pilot doesn't speak, but I can't find instruction how to control it so I can do this. Using X-Plane 11 on Windows 10.

Hi, i'm in my 10 day trial of Pilot2ATC right now. During flight planning i found, that the names of some SIDs / STARs indicate that P2A uses are from an older Version than the ones from the installed 1709 AIRAC that my Aircrafts (multiple) FMCs or simbrief show. The EDDN SID AKAN8K from AIRAC Cycle 1709 is an AKAN7K in Pilot2ATC. The ANOR3A from 1709 gets an ANOR2A in Pilot2ATC. I installed P2A with the "setupP2A_2221_with_Navigraph_1701.exe". Afterwards i updated the AIRAC Cylce of P2A with the Navigraph FMS Data Manager to 1709. Pilot2ATC tells me in the title bar "Pilot2ATC 2016 v. 2.2.2.1 MFD AIRAC Cycle 1709. Is this behaviour correct? Or i…

I always ran P2A from a remote PC without problems. I just installed the demo in the FSX computer to evaluate performance before I do the move to only one PC. It installs and connects to the simulator but that's about it. If I push the button to center the map on the aircraft, it center to where I am in the simulator but it does not show the aircraft. And when I push the button to file, It seems like thinking but it never finishes filing. I tried reinstalling FSUIPC and P2A itself but no luck. I would appreciate any tips to what the problem is. Does increasing the number of AI aircraft in X-plane have any significant impact on Pilot2ATC? Does the program take into account AI schedules when it generates ATC commands? I'm asking because increasing AI aircraft in X-plane has a killer effect on frame rates, but I do feel that sometimes I'm the only one interacting with the ATC....

Hi everyone! Hope you can help me with a problem. I have validated and filed a IFR flightplan and all is going well on the en route phase in FL340 (or any other flight level). When I get to the TOD I try to do one of the 2 following procedures: 1) before I reach TOD, I try to call ATC (Center) with <callsign> request enroute descent but I never get any response to that call 2) I keep my en route altitude beyond the TOD but never get (as I expect) a call from ATC to descend. Hi Dave, Is the current version of P2A considered a release candidate or is it still considered a beta release?

I wanted to know how is it that you can keep the pilot2ATC window within the Sim open and be able to click the buttons within the sim without the pilot2ATC window disappearing. Now I know that some people say that you have to run the flight simulator in the window mode but I can't do that using triple screens and I have also seen videos of people using pilot2ATC within the sim and they're able to change radio frequencies and start buttons and etc without the pilot2ATC window disappearing.

Hi, While I became a big fan of Pilot2Atc for Xplane, there ist one thing that still gives me headaches. From time to time ATC starts to give vectors when I'm on a STAR (maybe due to "Randomize SID/STAR" activated?). The problem is that I'm too high with the plane in most cases so that this leads to a missed approach. As an example today I was on Gerdo2r to EDDP. This STAR leads in a half circle around the airport giving enough time to descent and slow down. Right in the middle of the half circle, ATC assigned vectors to the runway but that gave not enough room for descending. Is it possible to disable the vectoring? Regards Marcus

How do I request a step climb?

I often don't have time for a full flight, so occasionally I will pause the X-plane for many hours. I place P2ATC on "pause" but often when I restart, the comm frequency is not recognized. For example, I restarted a flight from Nice to Salzburg. I used the COM frequency selector to search for the closest ATC, which comes up with the Marseilles control center at 119.75. I load that as the active frequency but it does not show Marseilles control center underneath, as if the frequency is not recognized. I also had it happen that I will try to load a frequency, and a close but not exact frequency comes up. For example, I type in 119.75, but 119.752 will show up…

Whenever I import a flight plan from FSC or EFASS the VIA is always direct for every waypoint. Do we have to manually define airways for imported flight plans or is this a bug? I have the same question for Auto Plan. I did a quick test plan and noticed that the VIA tab is always filled with via SID or via STAR etc. If I were to enter this into the FMC every waypoint would be a direct, correct? I must say that P2A has some really amazing features. The latest Auto Plan caught me by surprise and I think it's a really great feature. Is there a road map for what is yet to come?

Hello Dave, I recently got the Oculus Rift and have been busily setting things up to run inside VR. Your program is the most recent. I use PlaneCommand on one button to set the controls in the cockpit and another button to talk on P2A. It all works. So now I can bring P2A into the cockpit and lay it on my lap as though it were a paper map. That way I never have to take off the goggles to make adjustments or to see where I am. It works really well!. However, I just made a night flight and your map is really bright. Is there some way to dim the brightness? Or perhaps, this will be a feature for the future? I have tried to export a .gfp plan to the Reality XP 750 plugin in X Plane 11 and only the departure and destination airports show up in the imported file. no SID STAR or Approach waypoints. any ideas what I am doing wrong?
