Hello, While I'm having pretty much acceptable level of FPS (17-22) with autogen VERY DENSE for trees and DENSE for buildings on most of the approaches for heavy airports with 100% AI, the micro stuttering is killing me. Turning down Autogen is reducing stuttering, but not increase FPS. I have i7-6700k OC-ed to 4.7 with AF=14 and HT=OFF according to Steve's instructions for 4-cores CPUs. P3D is on the cores 1-2-3 and ASN and other stuff such as RC4/PATC are on Core 0. I also have 980Ti and 361.XX drivers. Two EVO SSDs. NVI FPS limiter to 30FPS with Unlimited FPS in P3D menu. Would appreciate your suggestions

Hi all, I'm looking to buy a new PC to get a better simming experience using Prepar3d V3 and the usual add-ons (PMDG aircraft, OrbX scenery,REX Soft Clouds, Active sky Next and airport scenery). I am thinking of buying a PC with these specs: Geforce GTX 750 TI GPU I5 4690K CPU 8GB DDR3 RAM 500 GB Sata2 Harddisk Gigabyte H81M Motherboard 550 Watt PSU Cooler master 342 Case (I'm not able to overclock because my dad doesn't allow it) This is pretty much the limit of my budget (because I'm only 15). Had this happen today during taxi out from Dock 8 to 09L following atc instructions: Sat there for 10 mins trying to figure out how the gates work. Finally saw a ramp truck drive right thru them, so I followed him. Went right thru them.

The guys at Orbx are projecting at the current growth rate that over 85% of their customers will be on P3D V3 by year end. I knew it was growing but not that fast. I think that is great as its showing forward movement. Terry

Just got a wireless tablet and now looking for apps for P3D. A moving map would be cool and maybe a cdu if possible. Really new at this but excited about the possibilities.

Hello. Why are cluds white without any light? The clouds should be darker. I've tried to set the lightning in the display settings but i couldn't fix it. Any idea? Sorry for my english. Kind regards Stefan Mühlemann

Hey all, I currently use ASN and have actually found I get better framerates than with default weather. (I realize this may not be news to some people...) There is a sale on REX stuff right now but I'm not familiar enough with it to know what "the best" combination would be, if any, while still reducing framerates. Also considering weather architect. Any help appreciated.

I don't have many hopes about fixing this issue, but nothing lost asking. The thing is no matter what add-on or scenery I'm using, sometimes, I feel when I sim for more than 1.5hs or so, on approach (3-5 miles away) my fps drops from steady 30 to 15-18, until I close the sim. If I load the sim again, same airport aircraft time and weather my fps are just fine.. It doesn't happen always, as I said above, I think is when I do my longer flights (I usually sim about 1hr). Maybe has something to do about the airport loading on approach, but happens both ORBX region or freeware LFPG in the middle of stock scenery. Settings. Really conservative, no NI, no…

Okay so I've been having serious stutter issues for the past week or so. When flying with any type of clouds my frames would drop considerably. I am using both REX 4 and ASN so i tried turning the settings down for both of them. Nothing changed. Today I installed Nvidia Driver 353.30 as a clean install and deleted my P3D shaders folder. I went and started up a flight at Taxi2Gate KMCO with the QW757 and active sky next weather running. My frames went from 27-31 when sitting on the ground to 48-55 while sitting on the ground and went from around 16-23 fps with massive stutters while flying through or looking at big clouds to not losing any fps. So i am contemplating the upgrade to win 10, my rig is for flight sim and it took me alot of time to get P3d 2.5 and the addons (ezdok) and the such to run smooth but i finally got it to run good. Now LM comes out with 3 and my upgrade to windows 10 is ready for download. What to do. SO my first question is can i just upgrade windows and everything will be hunky dory? or do in need to do a clean install of everything?

Hi all I have been using P3D v3.0 since it was released and not had any issues with OOM's, not even one. However last week I got my first OOM and again yesterday on the same flight plan but with a different aircraft, AS A320 then then PMDG 777. I have used these aircraft many times without any OOM problems. The only additions I have installed are the payware Inverness airport which I have used without problems any the ES Citation X v2 which I am still learning. The only other changes I have made are to use FSUIPC for my joystick/throttle axis calibration and assignments and also for button assignments hence my question. Hey everyone, Just wondering: 1) How well does P3D model system failures? 2) Can instruments be INOP'd ? Bonus question! Where can I find the "User Manual"? I tried looking for one to find answers (or, at least, guidance) to these questions, and did find the LM SDKs, but aside from seeing that failures can be set (and I like the way they are able to be timed) I haven't found more specifics. thanks Andrew

I need to test Simconnect over a networked aka client computer with the server running P3Dv3.2 My overall objective is to get ActiveSkyNext(ASN) latest version B5921 on a client computer to communicate with my Server aka P3Dv3.2 computer. ASN gives me the status as trying to connect with the simulator but never connects. I have read through all the forums and ASN manual with a fine tooth comb. Hi Folks, I'll sumarise my situation and my planned solution - any advice whether I am on the right tracks would be awesome. Currently have a GTX970 which is powering 3x 1920x1080 monitors with Nvidia surround (resolution of 5960x1080 - bezel corr) My only issue with this is when flying through cloud where GPU load constantly peaks at 99% which makes overcast impossible to fly near... I am just curious as there have been so many of the years with FSX. Some are still around, others died off or are not compatible with v3. I remember one that allowed me to maintain a time of day i.e. dusk. I loved it but forgot the name of it. Plus I'm getting older and forgetting stuff is becoming a real annoyance. Moving maps were cool way back, but now for many the GTN are out. Launchers too were big. Anyway, I have lost track and just trying to find out if there is anything out there I can't live with. I was flying along just now off an island in the Hawaiian chain, and wished to share my, what I call, my 'burnt in' P3D v3.2.3 .cfg file. What I mean when I say I have a sim 'burnt in'...is that after days, weeks, months, of adding entries to the .cfg file itself, flying a sim platform, making adjustments to the visual groups and their sliders, up..down, up...different combos of such, and all with an eye to getting the MAX detail and features turned on, but at a point, where I do not go much below my always locked in FPS of 33 FPS on any of my sim platforms. After an OS reinstall (Win 7 Prof) and re-installation of Prepar3D v3.2.3.16769 (both on new SSDs), I continue to have Hook Errors relating to sim1.dll and visualfx.dll and, recently dwm.exe. There is no event log generated other than the fsuipc.log (v4.494p). The benchmark flight is with PMDG's 772 from YSSY (FlyTampa) to KSFO (FlightBeam). The "parameters" I have changed/varied include: 1) ASN enabled/disabled (via dll.xml) 2) regenerating the prepar3d.cfg 3) GoFlight ICCS enabled/disabled. So after thinking about it for a couple days and seeing what others have done with their sims I thought it might be a good idea to explore just getting a second computer. This was the point where I went wrong last time and just had a company build me a PC without really understanding the hardware that was going into it except for just picking the more expensive options since I figured with computer hardware the higher price the better which turned out not to be the case. Basically I would like a system that can run all these add-ons and still provide good FPS. For those that spend time flying aircraft that simulate random or service based failures how many of you have had them and what were they? I’m asking because I’ve been pretty lucky until last night when I had an engine fire in the Majestic Q400. I’ve had my share of smaller issues, fire loops, SOVs, APU bleed, etc., but before this the biggest failure was a generator disconnect in the NGX.

HI LM, Please see my recent crash report. I am using Win10, PMDG 777, ASN, FSreal time, Traffic Optimiser and MT6. I was flying from KJFK - EGLL with Aerosoft EGLL Xtended active I was 10miles from TOD when the crash happened and was using auto time compression from the PMDG 777 fine until I reached that 10mile from TOD. I also have ORBX Global and England active. Any help would be great!
