I live in Duluth and I see the AI ships packages in the avsim libraries. Is there an easy way to only install the Great Lakes shipping routes/models/etc? I don't need a ton of ships but I'd like to see some Lakers floating around Lake Superior!

Hi, just got a confirmation fron Carenado support that they are indeed working on new installers for their products. They didn't mention which products but I guess all the P3Dv2 compatible ones is a fair assumption. "Carenado Support, Oct 4, 20:14: Greetings, We're making several tests to make our products P3D v3 compatible, but we don't have a date yet. Regards Carenado Support"

"Special" stuff? For example - I have the Alabeo DA40. I also bought some hardware - rotary encoders, switches, etc. (From Desktop Aviator). I'd like to connect a rotary encoder to my HSI's heading bug, but it's not in the choices. How do I do this? Thanks, Andrew

...that they did not corrupt any of the injection files!!!! My clouds were bad...after the in-program update to SP6, and so decided to download the whole install program again. Well...it seems that it wasn't just the clouds that were crapped out...but my water textures, too. I have great, water textures now...(I use Glimmer) and before I redid the install, there hardly was any over the surface...but now...the surface is alive. So...I suggest that everybody re-download the entire install program, uninstall REX4 Direct, and then re-install the full loader. You might find a heck of a difference in the quality of the cloud graphics and your water.... Ses

I'm not sure whats going on but REX4D support is saying its a ASN problem. Well the problem i'm having is REX4D textures is stuck on stratus clouds only, because ASN BETA 5926 is only injecting stratus clouds. REX4D support said... Your weather engine is in charge of instructing the simulator which textures to represent and how to represent. It looks as if ASN is instructing the simulator to use only stratus-type textures. There must be settings within their interface to change this, however we do not offer support for their product. To see if textures are being moved properly into the simulator, check the main REX folder for a file labelled as installo…

ORBX FTX Hervey Bay YHBA, (Australia), causes any aircraft to crash on take-off roll. Other airports, (ORBX, default or freeware), have not shown any inclination to do this. The default start-up flight at Hervey Bay loads OK and the aircraft will start correctly, but shortly after beginning the take-off roll the aircraft crashes. It is not a "failure" crash caused by misuse of the engines etc. If the realism setting is set to "ignore crashes and damage", everything is fine. Taking off from a nearby airport and landing at YHBA, causes an aircraft crash on touchdown. Note that this is an aircraft crash NOT a system "crash to desktop". It is almost as if there is a runway …

Hi. So I have been getting PFPX and Topcat to match perfectly now in terms of ZFW. It does not 100% match the value I obtain when I load the numbers in the NGX FMC, but it is only a matter of 0.2-0.4 difference. However, I want to get more serious using the takeoff-performance data from Topcat. Normally, I just enter flaps setting, thrust config etc and calculate performance data based on a certain runway. This gives you a set of assumed flex temperatures, usually de-rated. My understanding of these values are really poor and I don't know what values that are relevant and to be used in the takeoff-performance page in the FMC. Can someone elaborate on this topi…

Hello Pilots, So I'll be getting the new Asus ROG Swift PG279Q monitor this week. I have 2 EVGA GTX 980's SC in SLI, coming from a single 1080p monitor, will I benefit from this 1440p 165hz monitor in P3D?? My current setup is as follows: CPU: Intel Core i7 5960x Overclocked to 4.5 Ghz GPU: 2x EVGA GTX 980's Superclocked RAM: 16GB Mushkin Redline DDR4-2400mhz Do you advise me on changing my GPU's to something else? I prefer Nvidia btw.. Thanks.

I understand that GSX works best with the bigger stuff like Airbus, PMDG, Q400 and so on. What about the smaller GA stuff? Would there be any point getting this? I have searched Youtub but it only shows the bigger planes. I understand you can Try before buying But I thought I would ask anyway. Thank you https://www.fsdreamteam.com/products_gsx.html

Hello All, So I have used EZDok in FSX Steam for some time, but recently tried it in P3D after the complete installers were released. Since I have tried that, my world camera refuses to work. First, these are the trouble shooting steps I have tried: I have downloaded and installed the latest variables using the latest installers I have tried to delete the cameras.cfg I have run ezdok through FSUIPC I have uninstalled and reinstalled twice I have run as admin Still the problem persists. When I create a world camera, it is bound to the VC. I can move it within a virtual box of sorts but it will not allow me to go beyond that. If I create the world camera from one of …

Tried ATC in P3D for the first time this morning. Was instructed to hold short (I'd be crossing two runways) so I held short at the first runway. And sat there... and sat there... Decided maybe it was only going to recognize me holding short at the 2nd runway, so I looked both ways and taxied across, and then held short at the 2nd runway, and was abandoned again... (Making this funny was that I was in GA and there was an Airbus behind me - ATC kept telling him to hold position, then go again... CONSTANTLY... would have been hilarious to see the passengers getting rocked back and forth as he kept stopping...) ATC also seemed really, really anxious for me to get to …

Sorry if this is public knowledge, but I discovered over the weekend that Active Sky actually increased my frame rates (5-10) over the default weather. I was really surprised... Now, a question: is there a way I can create my own and have it driven by AS? e.g. I'd like an overcast layer @ 1000 up to 3000, and a high Cirrus layer above.

Hi all, I'm tweaking my DSR on my 1080p Samsung. What settings are best (if there are best settings)? I set it to 4x with 33% smoothing as a start. Also, after I set it, do I need to go into "Change Resolution" and set it to 1080p 3840x2160, HD (4.00x) or just leave it at 1080p? Then, inside of P3D, I choose the 3840x2160 resolution, correct? Thanks, Gregg

Hi As you may know iCharts is a professional service from Jeppesen in which pilots can consult everything to create a flight plan. You can consult airport charts, SID, STARS, Approach Charts and also the Enroute. By the way, the full PDF manual for this service is here: https://ww1.jeppesen.com/documents/support/aviation/E-link-User-Guide.pdf The official page for the product is here: http://ww1.jeppesen.com/industry-solutions/aviation/commercial/e-link-online.jsp Well my problem with this service is I cannot search waypoint... so I am bit "spatially disoriented". I'll explain this... Let's imagine I am departing from a certain airport, let's say Dusseldo…

Hi guys, Probably Steve is the one that knows the answer, but I will post it anyway so all can read it. P3Dv3 is running very smooth on my system, even though I switched from NVSurround to 3 seperate views. V 3.2 has been optimized for Multi Monitor and performance is way better than before with Undocked windows. At the moment I am looking for the best settings when there are multiple cloud layers with rain and detailed scenery. When banking over a major city with autrogen on I have some smalll stutters. First I was thinking of adding another graphcis card to my system ( already have a Titan X ) , but then I wanted to know the GPU load first. Just did s…

I know this must sound a little bit strange, but what would be the best payware/freeware airport to test FPS in? (Preferably in Europe as that is where I do the bulk of my flight)

Has anyone purchased the latest release for Prepar3D, or anyone have any first impressions. it seems to have an impressive feature list and the images on the website show a good deal of detail. Would certainly fill a void for this type of aircraft in Prepar3D.

I am needing some help please. I am doing a new computer rebuild, I have installed win10 64bit, P3D v3.2 (ver 3.2.3.16769) FSUIPC ver 4.9.4.9h (i dont know what the 'h' means) after first installing P3D I ran it, then installed Prosim737 then I installed FSUIPC, the log file seems all good and registration process was fine. The issue is when I load P3D I cannot find the FSUIPC calibration screen, normally this sits under the menu bar within the running sim under addons, but it is not there. Does anybody know where it has gone??

I guess that I am sort of blogging here as a new user of any v3.x version. But this morning, I decided to take a Dawn flight out of Bella Coola, British Columbia (ORBX) As I looked around before start-up...I truly noticed how perfect the scene really is, over such as FSX (even DX10) and P3D v2.x versions. Kudos to the development team over at L.M. The level of lighting of the lit windows in this ORBX scene, in relation to the natural morning lighting, is virtually real to myself. In FSX and prior P3D releases, the lighting out of the windows and buildings, the light poles, etc...all were too saturated, to giving off way too much light to the surrounding ni…

I posted this on the Night Environment forum but it's crickets over there, so I'm re-posting it here ... Richard, thanks to your repeated posting about how wonderful it is, I've downloaded my first set of NE scenery (PA). And while the installer crashed my machine all the way to re-boot, I added the scenery manually and took a quick spin. All I can say is WOW and THANK YOU (to Chris, too). It did, eat more than a gig of my available VAS, but I still had everything set for daytime flying and I know that's something I can fix in config and tuning. Because I definitely want this on at night, all the time, everywhere. So thanks.

I am running P3D v3.2xx on a good PC and getting pretty good frames (30fps) and very smooth operation and and want to explore a Traffic addon that works well and wont completely kill my set up. I have a second networked PC running ASN and Moving map software via Wide FS. I would appreciate hearing about your experiences with traffic addons that work well and wont drop me into frames that kill the experience. Thanks.
