Hello guys, I am switching from X-Plane to Prepar3d these days, since I find it better for my purpose, at the moment. I am new to this world and I already noticed is quite different from X-Plane system (I never used any FS version nor P3D before..). I am doing my best with research but sometimes I can only find outdated infos (especially now that v3 is not out since a long time...), so I had the idea to create this thread where I can ask about. A bit of background is of course useful: I use the simulator for a single purpose: fly an Airbus A320 (Aerosoft), mainly IFR, across Europe, offline, on VATSIM and IVAO. Now, without spending too much words.. from when I switched from 2.5 to v3 (now 3.2), I always had the impression that the sim wasn't delivering the same quality (with the exact same mods and settings) .. recently with all this blurred textures, not loading scenario.. and whatever I spend more time to try to fix my settings, than flying. It could be my eyes.. or my bad memory.. I don't have many screenshot to compare.. but don't it looks two different sims here? Hi guys, lately i had a reinstall of v3.1 and subsequent an update to 3.2. I was just about to reinstall all my FSDT and Flightbeam sceneries when i encounter a strange Couatl error. I already asked for help over œ FSDT. Unfortunately Umberto wasnt able to help me albeit he tried hard. Now i as you folks out there for some ideas. Below you find the error log of couatl and the messages that appear. I did installs and uninstalls of the sceneries i installed the stand alone addon manager several times and so on. Installed the simconnects and uninstalled them. No luck. Last solution would be to reinstall v3.2. In v2.5 everything works fine. Now time to check the log, …

Wait, what? Did this guy go crazy??? No, let me explain! I have pretty much all the ORBX products (Except SoCal which is coming up next..) and I also have a large amount of photo scenery. Since I have FSX:SE and P3D v3, after playing around a bit with them I decided I would like to leave P3D configured with all the wonderful ORBX add-ons, while FSX will be left for photo scenery. Being I already installed all the base products plus the AU and EU regions, I would like to know what the proper way to uninstall everything is to remove the add-ons from FSX. Ever time I try to add scenery that's installed to the library I select it click add the window closes and nothing is added to the library. Any ideas??

So i have been using SGSS x4 in NI on P3D. But yesterday i decided to turn it off. I lost all the stutters i had been experiencing and gained about 5-10 fps. I also noticed that my GFX card temp was on 75c when flying with SGSS turned on. With it turned off it dropped to 55c. So the question has to be asked. What am i gonna miss out on with SGSS turned off?

I'm having a weird problem with FSUIPC4.95 install crashing my vanilla P3Dv3.2 in Win10 x64 on each first launch of P3D. It took me 4 days of research, multiple uninstalls and Acronis recover to pin this problem down to FSUIPC4.95 install. I would never imagine FSUIPC could do that to me. )) So, to some reason each time when I reboot my pc and launch P3D first time I hear some Win10 system chimes followed by Errpr: "Prepar3D exe has stopped working". I close the program and launch P3D again. Second launch produces only the chimes but no Errors and all seems to work OK after that, no matter how many launches I make. I've been using p3d 2.5 for quite some time and a few weeks ago bought p3d version 3. Since then I've been fighting with downloading it from their servers. I've been only successful on the few individual downloads that are under a gig in size. The majority of the larger files I've never been able to get the md5 to match what they say it should be. I've tried different browsers, different download managers, etc. To no avail. I need some help! I've searched and tried many suggestions but I'm thinking my isp (line of sight over the air isp) just isn't good quality. Any chance a fellow sumer could get me a dvd or something? I'm at my whit''s end with this and am frustrated …

Hello All --- well, have surfed around and not found much info on weather adjustment in P3D. Am a newbie with P3D and it is just great. One of the more common issues I have run into is adjustment of weather mainly while in a flight. Wondering if this is just not meant to be or if there is a "magic sequence" that we are supposed to use? Seems OK when starting a flight (aircraft on ground) but unlike FSX, in flight weather adjustment is difficult. Mainly with cloud layers. I get lots of error indications but it does not say what is exactly causing the errors. Any help, comments, etc. much appreciated. THANKS!!!

Has anyone got PDF Kneeboard working in P3D V2.5? I have installed as per instructions in the Modules folder, and edited the P3D DLL config file as follows: <Launch.Addon> <Name>PDFKneeboard</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Path>.\modules\pdfkneeboard.dll</Path> <Commandline/> </Launch.Addon> However I can't see it in the Add On menu. Can anyone help??

Hi La Palma & Madeira pilots, it appears that I have fixed the elevation problem at these airports with an airport flatten file. Currently, the vehicles in GSX sink in the ground at those two airports. FSDT is working on a solution, but no news yet: http://www.fsdreamteam.com/forum/index.php/topic,12005.0.html The files work in P3D v32 and should also work in FSX. Im sure this is a long...LONG shot (lol) but has anyone ever successfully converted an x-plane 10 scenery into P3D v2 (or FSX) There is a freeware Toronto scenery for XP10 that would be lovely to have.

When I start P3D with the A2A Cessna 182, the eye point defaults to 0.30. What does this mean? What I want is the feel of what a real pilot would see sitting normally in the C-182. It looks "about right" but maybe a touch too far back from the instrument panel...Also, what is the difference between zoom and eyepoint. Thanks.

(Relatively speaking...) I'm running V 2.3 but don't have a particularly good machine - It's an "older" Dell Dimension XPS 8300, 16 gigs ram, Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti. I realize 24fps isn't really super-fast compared to what some others get, but I just cranked autogen all the way up to see what happens and... the frame rate didn't drop noticeably! (If at all...) Running Active Sky. Is there a way I can output all settings to show?

Much info on the web often mentions how to migrate one's mass of FSX / FSX SE add-ons accumulated over time over to Prepar3D using methods such as registry editing or dedicated migration tools such as the apparently appraised 'FSX to P3D Migration Tool' by FlightSim Estonia. However my desire (if conceivably possible) is not so much to migrate add-ons by abandoning FSX SE altogether and moving to Prepar3D, but more so to have 'both' FSX SE and P3D exist/installed on the same computer and have all or most necessary add-ons that developers list as being compatible with both FSX & P3D, to be installed and run on P3D as well as still being installed on FSX SE. Hey all, I have FTX Global, FTX Vector, some add on airports, some add on mesh and My Traffic 6. In what order should everything be placed in the Scenery Library to ensure everything works together as best as possible?

Hi posting this here in p3d as it's what I've been usong, but I think it applies to my fsx as well.. Have among other addons, REX 4TD + Soft clouds. Installed textires, etc, and while the low level clouds look great, I can't help but notice that the higher level clouds all seem "streched"... Is this normal or am I doing something wrong..?

I have a very specific problem with PMDGs T7 landing lights @ KSFOHD. When I approach RW 28R landing lights don't illuminate the runway. If I switch to outside view everything is fine. But from VC, runway is dark (rw lights, PAPI etc is visible). Strange thing: I created a flight situation standing with T7 at RW 28R. Everything is fine. RW is illuminated (VC view). I also created a "night config setting" to have enough headroom for FPS (20) and VAS (no Ding ... Ding ...). Then I repeated my landing approach from another saved situation. All was fine (FPS and VAS) but again, RW stays dark (VC view) during and after landing. This is reproducible. If reload my before me…

Is very easy: delete soft clouds and use normal clouds (REX, default or others, your choice).
