As the title suggests is this normal? New convert from FSX Steam edition with DX10 fixer. I am planning on upgrading the card to a 1070 soon but wondered if this is normal. Using 4xSSAA on FSX with the fixer i used to hover around 70 80% even in heavy weather conditions. If I dial back to 2xSSAA my utilisation is around 60%. Thanks Sid

For scenery that haven't been updated to p3d v4, could we simply copy them over from our p3d v3 folder and add them in manually? Would this work? Like if we still have our old previous P3D v3 install intact with all our scenery, can we just add the scenery into P3D v4 manually by pointing to the location where the scenery is? Not sure if this is safe to do so since P3D v4 is 64bit now, and those airports are 32bit. Would this harm or affect the performance somehow?

In X-Plane it was very easy and natural to do this with the keyboard, you just use the arrow keys to move around and about the scenery/airport. But how do you manage to do this in P3D? It's been awhile since I've used P3D. Can anyone show me how I can use the keyboard to navigate around the airport?

Hi, Immediately after takeoff, landing or a view change (by pressing "s") my FPS plummets from being very smooth to horribly choppy, I have re installed Prepar3d (v3) twice and have had the same issue both times. Here is a video showing an example of the bug just after a view change. I have also included my Prepar3d graphical settings, scenery settings and lighting settings in links to images below. The only way to fix this issue for me is to either restart Prepar3d, or reload the scenery (as I do in the end of the video by tabbing out) Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks! With the 2 different ways to add scenery one through the scenery.cfg and the other through declaring xml files, which one is layered above? Do the entries for the scenery.cfg go below everything added through the xml files? Thank you

Hi I install my P3D versions onto a dedicated drive, like most of us probably do. But as I understand it, P3Dv4 will automatically install scenery files into the Prepr3dV4 folder in the 'Documents' folder, usually resident on the C: (OS) drive. Who is relocating the folder to their main sim drive?

Hello all Any ideas? I attempted to purchase P3D V4 last night and after being told numerous times that the site couldn't be reached and to check the proxy and firewall I decided to log on using my tablet. I bought the license and then received the e-mail download link with License ID and password. After downloading I expectantly installed only to be told when attempting to activate that the server could not be reached verify that the computer is connected to the internet and that the firewall/proxy is set up properly. I have disabled my anti virus (microsoft security essentials) and windows firewall but I am still getting the message. Any solutions w…

Hello, I have a small question referring to the CPU requirements for P3D v4. Actually I'm using P3D v3 with a Dell Precision 7910 CAD Workstation and a GTX 1060 GPU. This is a high performance CAD workstation from Dell. But the problem is... You can only use Intel Xeon E5 processors on it. I have a Intel Xeon E5-2640 v4 CPU. https://ark.intel.com/products/83359/Intel-Xeon-Processor-E5-2640-v3-20M-Cache-2_60-GHz This CPU has 8 physical cores / 16 threads and 2,6 GHz and the turbo frequency is up to 3,40 GHz. My question is: Is this enough for P3D v4? On the system requirements page LM said as recommendation https://www.prepar3d.com/system-requirements/ Quad…

Hi everyone, I read over in the UT forum that UTLive can be set up by modifying some lines in the xml. Anyone had any success with this yet? If so, can you share what you did? It would be great to have that up and running as we wait for Flight1 to come out with their patch. Thanks, John

As my old FSX computer is still 'steam driven', I thought it might be a good time to invest in a new computer before buying P3D V4. The one I'm looking at has a i7-7700K @ 4.6GHz, 16GB DDR4 2133MHz Ram and a 1080Ti 11GB graphics card. I know LM recommends 16GB of ram, but would I benefit from upgrading to 32GB or would that be a waste of money ?

All I am going to set up p3dv4 today, I think ill keep p3dv3.4 for a while and until add-on's start to flow on the new v4. Can i install the v4 on its own drive and keep both versions running on one computer at the same time ...i.e One on drive D: and the other drive E: My guess is give they are discreet programs it should not matter, but I could be wrong. Just about to get my subscription to v4 and had a few questions for those that have already done it....... 1)I certainly want (initially at least) to keep my v3 installed alongside my v4 (I install my v3 currently to my C: drive although think I will need to install my v4 to my M drive for space reasons) - what is best way to install v4 - will I be forced to install it to the same drive as my v4 or does it not matter?also assume to keep both v3 and v4 (for the moment) would need to purchase x2 licences? - so will download and install the full v4 version? 2)In terms of installing add ons - such as the realair stuff has anyone managed to do it yet? (seems there is…

I have been flying FlightSim since the first version, then Sublogic, then back to FS. I have X-Plane, FSX-SE, and P3D v2,3. I have to say that the Lockheed Martin team hit it out of the park with V4. 1st day I have 80% of my scenery running. I did not have to buy new scenery. Wow! is an understatement. Yes I wish I had my tube liners but with everything working smoothly out of the box. No issues and I have flown for several hours from many airports. All I can say is the future is good.

I bought this for FSX and have the installer. Is this cross compatible with P3D or do I need a P3D dedicated installer? Obviously Realair is no more so that is a problem if I do. Thanks Sid
