I want to say thanks to all the developers that have chosen to update their existing add-ons in order to work with the new 64-bit version of P3D, and especially for not charging us for the updates. My intention is not to call out any devs that have decided to charge for such an update, I understand the business reasons for doing so. Just wanted to give a big thumbs up to those that have chosen this customer first approach. This topic has come up a few times, I felt like it deserved it's own thread so that we could all express our appreciation.

Hi there, I am wondering will there be a usable aviation flashlight tool following the release? I have checked Matt's stream on twitch and you can barely see the panels during the night if there is no light, check this screenshot. For some reasons, the panel light texture still appears. I think probably because it doesn't compatible with the new lighting system. Before V4, we didn't have the real lights lit the cockpit. The texture creates a fake light illusion. And now in P3D V4, the old light texture way doesn't seem to work anymore. Because new lighting system doesn't recognise texture lights as a real light source. So inside the cockpit, there would be…

It seems a bit odd to me that so little information is being released on V4. Usually the Beta Testors have a good bit of information for us at this point of a release. Even general questions like what do I need for a rebuild are being ignored. I wonder if they are still under some form or part of the NDA. So far we have only seen some pretty scenery and we know that the future will bring "lots of new things" but asiide from that, no hard facts to go by. Maybe I am over thinking it here, but anyone else kind of scratching their head? Maybe our own Rob A. could comment or any of the Beta Testers would be great.

According to one of the videos reviewed yesterday, sounds like LOD radius / texture loading has been vastly improved. Hoping I can maximize my 16GB and GeForce GTX Titan Black (6GB). Tim

Which 3rd Party aircraft developers use an external flight model, like A2A and RealAir? I am mostly concerned with, but not limited to, GA addons. I appreciate any input, thanks.

Hi, Does anyone else think that it is very strange that Lockheed Martin are not directly answering questions on V4? There are many area's about V4 in which people would like clarification and it seems strange to me that most of the answers seem to be coming from bits and pieces from 3rd party developers. That seems a strange way to release the details of a new product?

I've been flying out of Heathrow a lot more, and now that it's summer, I was thinking of investing into an LHR scenery. I was going to go with UK2000, but then saw that Aerosoft has a very nice looking one. Which one is better on performance?

Hi Elaine, I hope you are well, just enquiring about the V4 Physics have they changed or been updated in some form compared to V3 or is it all the same? Has the SDK at least been updated to allow for more Physics in the flight model. Visually it looks great just hope the flight model has been tweaked at least. Thanks Duncan

Are any new vehicles included in Prepar3D v4? Yes! The F-16A, F-16AM, F-16C, Lockheed Electra 10A, and the Milviz P-38L are all brand new vehicles to Prepar3D. In addition, we have updated many existing favorites. The updated vehicles include F-22 Raptor, F-35 Lightning II, Sikorsky MH-60K, Sikorsky S-70A, Sikorsky UH-60A, Sikorsky UH-60L, Sikorsky UH-60M, and the Sikorsky UH-60Q. http://www.prepar3d.com/frequently-asked-questions/

As far as I know, ORBX and PMDG have been the only ones to say that there won't be any additional fees for the 64 bit upgrade. I couldn't find any others. Have any other big name developers stated that our licenses will be good for the 64 bit version? I've really slowed down on addon purchases because I don't want to have to pay again. There are a few addons I want to get (mostly scenery) that I would gladly shell out for now if I knew that there won't be any additional fees later.

Quick question for the beta testers - have their been any changes or improvements in the controller profile feature in v4? I'm guessing not, given that I haven't been able to find any discussion of controller profiles. The reason for the question - since the future of FSUIPC seems to be in some doubt, I'm trying to get a handle on how easy or difficult it will be to work with multiple controllers in v4. I currently use a HOTAS, and am considering an investment (yes, investment - talking Virtual-Fly grade here) in a yoke and throttle quad to use alongside it. But if that's not going to be feasible - or if there'll be a lot of hoops to jump through - I might pass,…
