Let's say I bought v4 with 32GB RAM, it'll cost almost $300. No Thanks. Without any significantly improved visual or scenery performance, and found there is actually no big difference than v3, there is no need to go for v4 , unless if you encounter OOM problems. If you're HEAVY flight simulation add-on simmers like adding REX or ORBX, then you might need v4 64bit, but if you only install few aircraft and couple of few sceneries, I think v3 is still worth while.

I was wondering if any of you have heard if other websites/product stores like Simmarktet,Just Flight and FlightSim Store will actively put the new installers that are for P3D V4 in our store accounts as they come out? Seems like we may have to re-purchase a lot of content. P3D V3 is wonderful as long as you have it configured right even with add-ons. So I don't think I will upgrade if I'm going to be missing my add-ons.

Does anyone know what is the default sim object difference from Pro to Pro Plus in V4? Ive seen screenshots of a soldier in V4.

I've been doing FSX SE ever since it came out, much better than FSX for sure. Now I'm thinking about using Prepared4. The question is if I do which one do I get, the one for $200. or the cheaper one. If I do go with Prepared, do I have to un-install all of my payware scenery and aircraft first?

Word of caution, however: This does not mean "no more OOMs" - if add-on developers are not careful, we will soon realize that as soon as users turn everything to maximum, there is still a very real possibility of 8GB or 16GB of installed RAM not being enough any more to support 4096 texture sceneries, full autogen, ultra 7cm resolutions, etc - not to mention that nagging will now be transformed from "oh - my bleeping thing OOMed!" to "oh - my bleeping thing is crawling at 4 Frames Per Year (tm)". guys, upgrade your RAM to 32GB

Could someone (beta testers?) comment really about performance gains with v4? I have not seen any report on this important topic. What turned me off with P3Dv3 were the microstutters I kept running into, not VAS. I went from 2.x to 3.x and have updated my system twice [currently at i7-2700k oc 4.8 GHz, GTX980 4GB] average system, but it works fine with everything else. Since it's not practical for everyone to invest more dollars into building new systems (if more hardware is what needed, which I have not seen evidences of that so far with P3D v3, and with v4 is just more RAM), I would like to know if the whole sim is now smooth with reasonable settings in V4, so that t…

I just reinstalled windows on my SSD and installed FSX with my PMDG 777 and FTX Global and I purchased Vector and North America OpenLC and it takes about 5 hours to try and install for Vector and OpenLC, but finally at the end of the countdown timer, the status bar is only in the middle, not at the end. Then the countdown clock is stuck at 1 second and then it stops downloading basically. I go into FSX and there is no sign of this being installed and in FTX Central it still says that it is not installed.

Hey, Looks like everything is clickable in VR natively....the performance gain will be cool...though Flyinside does give me VR-SLI and that is quite epic performance too. Has anyone seen or have any night images that can be shared of v4? I've only seen some stuff from Orbx but looking to see what a default looking sim would look like. Night has been one of the things that slowly made me start using that 'other sim' more lol. Not that we can't have both :) but curious to see if the overly bright nighttime has been eliminated or not. Also curious to see this new night lighting and reflections. I saw a little taste from Matt's stream but wasn't sure whats stock or whats addon.

I cannot wait to load the sim with my favorite PMDG aircraft at my favorite airport without Chaseplane warning you that vas is already at -.83 gb, and I haven't even taken off yet.

I presently have 8 gig of DDR3 @ 1600 RAM, should I upgrade to 16? If I do upgrade, should I get faster memory? According to my motherboard manufacturer I can go to 3200.

Hello, I am having an issue with ground shadows during dawn. Rather than describe, I took a small video to show the issue. In particular, if you pay attention to the white line markings you will see the shadow "banding" that I am plagued with. Would anybody have any suggestions on what is causing this? I am using PTA and Thopat preset if that has any bearing. Also some Nvidia Inspector tweaks. I have also deleted the shaders folder. My current settings are Thank you in advance Darren

I posted on the Fly Tampa Forums about my issue and wanted to see if anyone here has solved this problem with there setup. I purchased Grenadines today everything seem to install fine but when I load a flight at any of the 5 airports there is no trees or building on the island. I read about using the autogen config tool and tried it but no change. I also use Ftx global and vector Olc NA and wonder if that may be causing this. I have my scenery library in the correct order too. Using Windows 10 P3Dv3.4

So far, I've seen a lot of people assuming that v4, when it drops on Tuesday, will be going for the same price as previous iterations ($199 for a non-academic license). Over the past few days, though, I've been seeing a great deal of speculation that v4, being a major step forward, will be priced accordingly -- I've seen people predict that it will be priced at $400, $500, or even as high as $999. Has LM said anything so far to indicate what the price is going to be?

I actually don't really know the benefits - I know it's good, but just curious what effect this will have on my relatively "old" machine. XP11 runs fairly well. Looking forward to P3D v4...

I have to confess that this morning I went to the beach and when I was on the road I thought things were autogen and that i would have an OOM in my life. Prepar3dv4 has finally arrived !!!

In P3D V3 or V4 if it's raining does this effect translate to an aircraft performance during takeoff and/or landing?

I've held off on Vector initially because you had little control over what was manifested and what wasn't, but I think that piece changed a while back. In your humble opinion can you estimate the performance hit? I used FTX Global plus regional sceneries, and I also wonder whether Vector adds more content in FTX regionals, or is that data already present? Right now my 5 y/o system works very well, I'd like to take advantage of the May sale but only if the performance hit is very minor relative to what I'm already using, which again oftentimes I am flying in FTX regional scenery already. Will the global freeware airports be made available to FSW?

Hi, I am having major difficulty with adding freeware sceneries on my P3D. My latest two issues is LTBS (by sanalpilot) who has a black cover over the runway and LGSA (from avsim) where the scenery is just crazy! Can anyone help me please! Thx a lot :)

Hi I want to take advantage of the orbx May sale and I was interested in getting ORBX ftx trees but I am not sure if it is worth it in P3D V4. I know speed trees for ORBX HD trees is not supported so is worth getting trees for P3D V4 ? Is there any feedback from users using in P3D V3 ? Thank you
