Hello all, I believe That I may have a weeeeee problem here. 1. 12.5Gb download took close to 12 hours...Normal for here in Indonesia. 2. I unzipped The download (using Winzip) and this took 8+ hours. Please note that I had one of our inevitable, daily power fails during a System Restore Just prior to the unzip which necessitated another system restore. This however, may well be causing at least some of my problems. 3. Installation. Upon clicking Setup P3D (last item in the unzip) I immediately get an error "P3D.exe is not a valid Win32 application" Given that I am running Win7 Ultimate 64bit, I can only assume That this is the main source of ir…

I followed the Orbx compatibility guide but when loading into KSAN and KSNA my aircraft is elevated way above the ground. I added the scenery in using the addon.xml method is that why?

So what I usually like to do is save various graphic configurations for the type of flying that I will be doing, such as VFR, IFR, etc and so forth, however I just notice that when I go to save a custom preset, it doesn't save all my settings, such as the traffic settings do not get saved, and also the autogen slider seems to reset itself to 'custom' as well. This has got to be a bug. It's quite frustrating that P3D doesn't save all your settings, this would make it so much easier to load up different graphic preset/configurations before starting your flight. I hope this gets fixed or that they improve on this somehow, cause at the moment, it's quite unpolished.

There's so much talk about addons and how they work in v4, that I'm more than a little confused about installing them... If I simply try installing a scenery into v4, is likely to actually 'break' something, or, will it just not work correctly? Many sceneries that I already have installed for v3, 'appear' to work ok in v4, by simply using the scenery library to add them. Should I not be doing this?

Just flew a flight from FlightBeam KSFO to KSAN over Orbx SoCal Scenery using Orbx4 Weather and ProATCX to guide me. Maxed out most settings as follows: Awesome results with system shown in my signature (i7 7700K; Nvidia 1080TI; Samsung M2 SSD to name a few). The following is the data collected by FSUIPC5: 228407 Aircraft="PMDG 747-400M PMDG House (N744MG | 2017)" 234750 Starting everything now ... 238141 Advanced Weather Interface Enabled 3991454 === Closing session: waiting for DLLStop to be called ... 3992375 Sim stopped: average frame rate for last 3763 secs = 34.4 fps 3992375 Max AI traffic was 255 aircraft (Deleted 0…

Just a FYI for anyone who updated to the new FSDreamteam installer for v3 / v4. FSCommander (FCS) database manager can not read the scenery files in the new addon distribution system there using. Since the entries are no longer in the scenery.cfg and have been moved to the scenery_add-ons.xml the program can not read the AFCAD files for update. I'm sure FSC will get around to updating it.

I purchased a registered copy of FSUIPC from Sim Market years ago when I was into FSX. Now I purchased Prepared V4 and my SIM ACARS is not working. I get a pop up that mentions FSUIPC being the problem. I purchased FSUIPC 5, the newest and I don't get that pop up now, but nothing happens.

So here are a couple screenies of before and after install of Tongass. I edited the terrain.cfg and added the 40 terrain.cfg entries required. I pointed my scenery library to the two entries in my P3D V3 install. I previously opened the Tongass config editor and deactivated the DHC-3 Otter and DHC-6 Twin Otter and saved that configuration (those planes are in the wrong format for P3D V4 and will cause a CTD. - this is with Orbx Regions installed. Hi I've received feedback from Pilot's that there's no plan to update compatibility of FS GLobal 2010 for V4 and that there will be FS Global 2018 with 2017 data released. My question would be, before I'll be able to afford Ultimate Next Gen package which I'm collecting money for anyway, would it be possible to simply add FSGlobal 2010 to scenery file in P3Dv4? Ultimately, I did not see any ammendments in area of mesh announced, so anything that worked with v3 would work with v4, after it's manually added. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks!

Just out of curiosity: for years we've been told the move to 64 bit would render all addons useless and we would have to wait months if not years before all addons would have been build up from scratch again in order to cope with 64 bit. Backwards compatibility would be broken, hell would break loose, simmers would lose everything. Well, sort of. But as I am following the current events around v4 I have the impression addons are being updated almost just as fast as after the switch from P3D v2 to v3...! If not faster. It seems scenery hardly is a problem and mainly planes need some work but quite a few updates for planes have been announced or even released alr…

Hi, is there a maximum amount of VRAM the sim will use? I'm asking because I can't get it to use more than 7-8GB (my GPU has 12GB VRAM) and I had some situations where I thought "why doesn't it have this in vram?" like when I flew over EGLL and when I looked back over my shoulder all airport buildings were textureless/black and it took a second to re-load the textures which were already there 10 seconds ago. With TEXTURE_SIZE_EXP=10, LOD_RADIUS=14.500000, all Settings @max and ORBX-England I get to 7.3-7.8GB VRAM. I thought it might be because I only use 1080p, but even with DSR@4k the VRAM consumption did not change. So could there be a limit, e.g. 8GB? (I …

Hi, I'm having a nightmare getting all my Saitek quadrants recognized in P3DV4, maybe somebody has been successful and can help? I am proficient with FSUIPC, bought version 5, installed. Problem is FSUIPC5 only sees 2 of the 3 quadrants, though the sim sees all controllers. I tried the latest spad.Next version 0.9.6.4, but it only sees my P3DV3, not 4. (Tried quite a few times running the wizard, changing the P3D folder from 3 to 4, but to no avail). Also updated all Saitek drivers. Running all my controllers and quadrants as is in P3DV3 perfectly, without spad.next. Thus, FSUIPC5 sees only 2 of 3 quadrants. Spad.next does not see P3DV4 at all, …

Hi all, now that we're approaching the 1 week mark of v4 release and almost-zero aircraft available and other add-on categories slowly starting to trickle in, what 3 add-ons are you looking forward to re-installing (with proper installers) the most? For me it would be: 1 - ANY PMDG 2 - TFDI 717 (just love that one) 3 - F1 GTN 750

I have been actively simming since FS98. There is still a lot to learn when a new simulator is released. My objective was to get my FSDT and Flight Beam airports up and working in PD3V4 and remain working in PD3V3. I retrospect think the new system is fantastic. It allows you to have the airports working in both simulators with only one install on your hard drive. It sure saves space and it works well. However, I fumbled around for a long time and at least 4 install uninstall cycles before I hit on a few key points. 1. The new installer wants to install in a predetermined place on your "C" drive. A have a small 250 GB ssd for the operating system, a 1TB ssd for my fl…

When installing A2A 172, I find that it installs everything into my Documents folder? Is there a way to prevent this from happening, because I have a 128GB SSD drive for my main C: drive and that's primarily for my OS only.

I have the Bell 212, Bell 222B, Bell 412, AS 365/HH-65C and the UH-60L all working in PD3V4. I am very nervous about using any installers not designed for PD3V4. I simply copied and pasted them into the simobjects/rotorcraft folder and the gauges folder into the PD3V4 gauges folder. VCs looks a little dark but they are flyable and the shift 1 quick starts work. Greg

Good morning (or in whatever time zone you are). I made just a short video to present ORBX stuff + AS16 + FB KSFO. I think it shows the performance of v4 and the endless view :-) I really like it. I know it's not the greatest video of all time - but in my eyes with v4 we make a BIG STEP forward. Hope you maybe enjoy it. The 4K version will be available later, Youtube always takes some time to process it.
