If I'm doing preflight procedures in my NGX for about 30 minutes will the scenery be rendered and not constantly changing when I take off?

Hy, I bought myself a new videocard a few days ago. It's a GTX 1080ti :) Before this I had a GTX 960. My system is now: I7 2600k 4,5Ghz 16GB RAM 1600Mhz GTX 1080ti After the videocard switch I deleted my P3D.cfg and deleted the shaders. As Amsterdam Schiphol is my home airport I'm trying to get the FPS at this airport right. (with the Flytampa Scenery) But I'm not able to get a nice FPS. In the default Fighter jet I only get around 28fps in cockpit and 35fps outside. You can unserstand that If I load the PMDG 747 the frames go even lower. Not all settings are maxed out. Does anyone have any info on AIFP being updated to work with v4? I'm using the AIG flightplans from the library with the models and liveries. Is there a way to install these without AIFP?

This is a default folder, you will find there is a .lua script file called "PrecipWindshieldEffect.lua" Open this file with Notepad or Notepad++. Hey everyone, So I just got Prepar3D to try it out and was wondering if there is a way to move the standard aircraft that came with FSX (i.e. 737-800, F/A-18, etc.) to Prepar3D? I thought by just dragging the folder and copying the gauges, they would work just the same in FSX. The aircraft show up in the menu just fine, but when I choose any of these aircraft and start, the program hangs up and I receive a 'fatal error'. Does anyone know if this can be done, and if so, how? Thanks!

Just found this site: http://maps.avnwx.com/# Double click anywhere on the map and it gives you all the weather stations color coded for conditions within 500 miles anywhere in the world. Just roll your mouse over the stations for the ICAO and the conditions. Great for using real world weather. John

Hi gents, I would like to get some help from you. I just moved from AMD to Nvidia so I know very little about NI and Nvidia control panel. I did some googling but I couldn't get a good explanation for all the AA settings. I did some trial and error with NI but I couldn't notice the difference with P3D V3. At the moment I am using Asus 1070 Strix Oc edition. Thanks in advance.

I was currently using EZDok 1.18 i believe it was with P3D v3 previously, but now that P3D v4 is here I'm not sure whether to upgrade to EZDok v2 or switch to Chaseplane. Need your opinions on which would be the better one for the new 64bit platform.

Good day all. I am new to P3D and I cannot figure out what is causing this message: "CANNOT run without a valid SCENERY" I googled the solution, did not help. Reinstalled v4 and after some time same message pops up. One of the suggestions was to paste scenery file from Program Files into the Oldscenery file. When I opened both those files all I saw was this: 捛㉲਍਍䅛敲⹡崱਍楔汴㵥啕䕅䴠獯潣⁷桓牥浥瑥敹潶堠਍潌慣㵬㩅停䐳䅜摤湯匠散敮祲啜䕕⁅潍捳睯匠敨敲敭祴癥൘䄊瑣癩㵥牔敵 What the is that? Here's a list of all of the oddball sceneries that I've been able to get to work in P3D v4 with their default installers or the migration tool. I didn't do anything with folders or changing files. These are all "out of the box" installs: Latinvfr: MIA, SAN, RDU, TJSJ, SNA- Everything works but the autogen buildings surrounding the airports have black walls and normal roofs. RDU looks great, all buildings seem fine, but there is an option to turn off surrounding autogen in the installer, and I used it. I can deal with the funny buildings until they come out with their v4 versions. Tropicalsim: MCI, DCA- Loads and seems to work fine. SXAD: BNA, no prob…

My Orbx installs went very well and pretty fast on my SSD. I installed 7 regions with base, land class, and the new libraries using the updated FTX Central tool. It copied/updated everything from my P3Dv3 install. P3Dv4 performs well for me using Vsync at 30 Hz and unlimited with triple buffering. I did have to turn off all the Orbx config eye candy options in the Southern and Northern Cal regions to maintain my P3D settings and FPS but that was fine with me. Every day I’m getting closer to abandoning v3. AS16 install coming soon I hear and then I’m almost there, these are exciting times for flight simmers!

Hello everybody, I am brand new to Prepar3D, I have searched around and haven't found many answers to my question. I don't mind at all if all you give me is a link so I can read it myself, I am not about re-asking questions that have been answered a million times, expecting people to explain them to me. Anyway, I noticed in my Prepar3D Simobjects folder that there are a ton of vehicles and models that come with the sim; some of which, are boats. However, when I load the sim and go to setup a scenario there are far less vehicles available then in the simobjects folder. My best guess is that I don't have any scenarios to support those ships. Just a post because I keep reading comments about memory usage in P3D 4.0. I think there is a certain amount of lack of understanding over how memory management works in a 64 bit operating system along with a 64 bit application. Applications require a certain amount of ram in order to function.. I have no idea what P3D NEEDS.. but my best guess is around 2-3GB's. Windows will basically look at it's available free memory and assign it to processes as required. The objective is to use as much of the free unused ram as possible. Therefore.. whilst P3D's NEEDS 2-3GB's it will be assigned a much larger amount to make use of. If all that is available is say 5GB then P…

I upgraded to P3Dv4 last week, fully aware that may 6 year old system might be a bit weak. I have an I7 2600i LGA 1155. 3.4GHz overclocked to 4.0. I have 8 GB of 2133 RAM. I just ordered another 8 GB due for arrival on Saturday. I have a Nvidia Geforce GTX 960 2GB card, which has not been OC'd. While awaiting PMDG's 777 and NGX, I have been flying the stock B36 Bonanza by Carenado, which I suspect is one of the more system-intensive airplanes in P3Dv4. I have Orbx to include SCA and NCA. P3D shows 106 aircraft available. But, only a the original builtin aircraft are displayed for operation. How do I get the remaining dozens of aircraft to be fully recognized so that they may be used for flight?

I have got the Real air Duke V2 working in P3DV4. However, when I extend the gear the left gear door drops but the landing gear does not come down. When I crash land the left gear then extends. It worked fine in P3DV3.4. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Greg

Hey, I just saw the specs on this beast, I dunno how the cooling will work but 18 Cores with 16GB VRAM (Radeon Pro) and comes with max 128GB Ram. Oh this will be a monster to sim in with Prepar3d running in Bootcamp (full native Windows). Just hoping LM to fix their native VR, I have no idea how a broken VR got passed in beta testing. Hi guys I am returning to flight simming after many years out of it. Previously I used FS2004 and FSX with the PMDG stuff. I like to use study level sims and am a RW pilot also. I am doing some commercial training and would like to use a flight sim to help with my IR procedures and checks etc. I stress I will not be using it for any kind of general handling practice as I am well aware of the limitations of sims but for IR procedures and getting familiar with cockpit layouts it can be beneficial and save ££'s in the air. Let me preface this question by stating many new LED screens, and late 9 series and 10 series video cards don't agree with me, and cause eye strain and headaches. This is _not_ a function of refresh rates. There's something about how the backlights function and pixels are rendered that don't agree with me. I'm not alone in this (see http://ledstrain.org, and big threads on the apple forums about people unable to use macbooks) and frankly it's a bummer.
