So i created a video, and i hope you decide on weather you are going to buy it or not. personally i feel it isnt worth about $60 but around 45, there isnt much improvement otehr than 64bit- i understand that this is what we wanted as a FS community for such a long time but i guess its just my opinion. First my system is a brand new Alienware Aurora R6. ( Yes I know some of you hate Alienware and think they are over priced ) I love the Alienware systems and this is my 3rd in 11 years. I live in the remote Yukon so its not so easy to jump in the car and head to the local PC hardware store some 12 hours drive to Anchorage AK. Even Amazon takes 2 weeks if I order something. So I stick with Alienware. One thing about Dell is the warranty is first class. In my experience anyway. So I ordered this system as my other was pushing 5 years old and wouldn't you know it? Hello all, I think almost every body who owns Fsx wright now is thinking to switch to p3d v4 (so ways I) my main reason was to switch the p3dv4 was because the OOM errors starten getting very irritating. Because p3d is a 64x bit game i believe, you do Not have any oom errors any more. Aswel as the graphics and performance is just mutch better. when i had Fsx, ive spemd approximately €400 worth on addons. And afcourse, I've spend again 300-400€ for addons for p3d. BUT I can tell you, it was totally worth it! I'm very glad I've made the switch. I really recommend this sim to all of the FSX users!

I have the X52 but lately the problem that the buttons change what they are supposed to do i.e one button used to switch between outside views and now it sometimes does it and sometimes it goes to inside views. I have FSUIPC5 but still the same. As the X52 is pretty dated is there anything which works better? I am running Windows 10 64 bit btw. I would appreciate your help very much. Thanks Bernd

Hi, When you start the installation you will be invited to update the installer. This will then give you the P3D4 option. Proceed with the installation and allow/direct the installer to your original installation folder (assuming you have an installation in place for P3DV3). The installer will then overwrite everything and add all the necessary entries in scenery.cfg for P3D4. I imagine you could simply copy the P3D3 entries over, but then you would be faced with having to renumber all the sections in the P3D4 scenery.cfg. Better to leave this irksome task to the installer and, of course, all entries will be placed correctly in the file. This method obviat…

I installed some planes on P3D v4 taking them from P3D v3.4 to test (Citation I 500-A380-747-8i Delta) and the only thing that does not work is audio of GPSW landing warning (2500-1000-500 feet ecc.). Has anyone detected my problem myself?

I'm considering purchasing P3Dv4 but am curious how much more it will tax my system than v3.4 does. I have a mid level pc, windows 10, GTX 750ti 4gb vram, 16gb ram. With most sliders mid high right, I get 16-30 fps with PMDG NGX, FSDT, IS KATL, Ultimate Traffic 2+Tootings Super Duper UT2/WOAI traffic. If there is a bigger hit by V4, I guess I'll have to wait until an eventual PC upgrade. Those that have upgraded from V3.4, can you enlighten me on your observations between the two? Thanks.

Hey everyone. I have a widescreen monitor. 29" wide to be exact. The simulator works great in it and I get a really great immersion. My only problem is that is seems that when it comes to shadows I can always see on the left or right side of the screen how the shadows cut off right before going out of view. Same things happen with the Lens Flare. its like its not taking into consideration that I have a larger area that need to be considered focus areas on my monitor. Is there any cure for this?

Hi All, Well I finally got my new OS installed (win 10) and 3.3 installed along with all my ORBX scenery. It may be that my OS was bloated, but now with a clean install, 3.3 is very smooth. The only issue I am experiencing is the inability to fix the shimmering. Neither the control panel nor NI using SGSS makes any difference whatsoever. I tried 3 different drivers to no avail. Anyone else having this problem? Thanks Bob

Hi guys, I have strange CTD's occurring only when I start a flight at OMDB (Flytampa Dubai Rebooted). As soon as I change view or start panning around the sim crashed. When leaving on without touching nothing crashes. This is strange. I have installed: P3D V4 base ORBX Global Ultimate Live Traffic SODE GSX Flytampa Dubai Rebooted Addon Manager Flytampa Amsterdam A flight from Amsterdam to Dubai went without problems. However starting a flight at Dubai with whatever airplane I choose, it starts to CTD as soon as I start to pan around or using space +mouse for changing view zoom. Any help and any insights …

I am used to fsx so sorry if that has been asked, but in fsx I have my home airport and default flight set to that. If I change to another airport, the sim automatically changes the set time to that local time at the new airport. In P3D it is synced to my set time in every airport I choose. I have to look up the current default time at each airport I load into and change to it before loading the flight. Can that be changed in P3D to be like fsx?

Hi All, I have scenery and airports to fly to, great looking weather, what my v4 is currently missing is decent aircraft to do my 2 hours jaunts from UK to the mediterranean In v3 I lived in the Carenado Phenoms, PC-12 and the Aerosoft Airbus Other than the PMDG mega tube liners, what other great aircraft are currently compatible or even just working in P3D v4 for under 1000nm flights? thanks

Anyone using the Cirrus 2 flight console from Precision flight controls with P3D 4.0? I have it in use for version 3.4, and it works great with FSUIPC and the driver provided by Peter Dowson. I know that there is a new P3D 4.0 version of FSUIPC, however I don´t know if the device driver will work in 64 bit. Thanks, Thomas

In P3DV4 "Select Vehicle" there is no #Show only favorites as it is in P3Dv3. Or am I blind? /Thomas

Hello everyone I've just bought P3D v4 (my first version of Prepar3D) and I was hoping someone in the know could point me toward a good model set for vPilot. I've had a good search/Google for info or open threads but could only find information pertaining to the limitations of the WoAI set (which I've very much enjoyed using with FSX) with some model's animations and textures not working properly. Just wondering if anyone has been successful installing TF in v4? I have it installed and everything is working except the elevation files aren't working as far as I can tell. They're installed in World/Scenery as instructed. Boats, planes AI work as expected. On he runway at PASI, it is sunken a few feet. The AI CG Cutter Anacapa at Sitka sits behind a wall of water, etc. Any suggestions? Vic

Am trying to uncheck the Restore Time on Move box on the Select Airport page. However am unable to do so. Is there some other setting that might be preventing me from doing so? Hi, On Prepar3D v4 I found that the default aircraft Beech Baron 58 and Beech King Air 350 and others such as Citation I 500 and A380 installed for testing, landing lights do not work if enabled Dynamic Lighting on Options instead with Dynamic lighting on in apt works very well the dynamic lighting effect on AI aircraft, cars and buildings. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Roberto

Hello All I've recently moved over to P3D V4 from FSX SE and have just manually copied across all of my existing FSX SE AI into a newly created \AIAircraft folder within the \SimObjects folder of P3d V4. After some research, I discovered that I no longer add the above folder to the main cfg file, but rather, append a new entry into the simobjects.cfg file as per: [Entry.10] Path=SimObjects\AIAircraft Required=True Active=True However, when I then run P3D, I get the "Vehicle initialization has failed for f22" startup message. If I then delete simobjects.cfg and let P3D create a new one, the message disappears and P3D loads normally. This then…
