When my old computer had a fatal crash and I bought a new one I was introduced to Windows 10. I loved Windows 7 but, alas, it's now gone too. I installed P3Dv3 on my new system. Since I had everything backed up I was able to just about duplicate everything I had on my old installation to my new one although it took a few days to reload all the Orbx scenery. My problem is the P3D scenarios I saved in the Windows 7 version. Some of them don't seem to work in the Windows 10 version. Hi everyone! I have been flying since several years now, and so I decided to try the VATSIM network. So I wanted to start by a little flight; London Gatwick to Nantes Atlantique (my local airport). However, I couldn't hear some of the UK's controllers / pilots, that's why I used text instead of voice. Plus it's easier for me to get used to procedures. Anyway, I request the clearance, okay, startup and pushback, okay, taxi.. ah. I have Prepar3d installed on one of my internal HDD. It's a 2TB drive and i have about 20GB left. Which is very low on space. I heard that defragging your drive to rearrange all those data chunks to be in consecutive order will greatly enhanced loading. On FreeMeshX's site it said this, and then I read comments from others that tell me it doesn't make a difference. So what is true and what's not? Sometimes there's noticeable autogen or texture/mesh popups when flying. It's not really a big deal and isn't so bad, but I do notice it when I'm flying and its there. Hi Guys, I thought that I should post this on PMDG forum, but figured that they shouldn't have anything to do with this. Since I spent last 12 years on FSX I didn't had issue with Current APT time, On FSX when you choose desirable Airport, local time displays, day or night. Last night I was at OMDB, 8:00 pm here at CYYZ, so Dubai should be dark as well, 9 HRS ahead so should be 5:00 am there, so dark. But time was 8:00 am and daylight . Do I have to set up manually local time on P3D when I choose Airport? I tried few things but seems that I have to do that manually. If I set scenario to system time and if is dark here it will be night somewhere where supposed to…

I just bought base and vector and I like what I see so far. However, night lighting tends to pop up and are not gradual. Is there a way to fix this? This happens with autogen as well (mostly trees). I am running Orbx Base and OpenLC. So far I have been using BM base and Vector for about a week and I like it. I want to start playing around with some of the settings. I fly tubeliners and was wondering what settings people are seeing realistic results with. Currently I am using default settings but was looking to tweak a little. Thanks!

Is blackmarble v4.1 compatible or is there an update that needs to happen?

I'm running Affinity Mask 85 with HT on obviously on a 4 core. This means that P3D is running on the 4 physical cores, 0,2,4,6. My question is for those running this AM, where are you putting your background programs like Activesky, ACARs, ASCA, TrackIR? Currently I have it on virtual cores, LP5 and LP7. Want to make sure I have it set up correctly.

P3D V3.1 introduced a new SDK FX item called "Ground Decal" (Ground Decal = 1) ... this should be used in most situations where an existing FX uses "Ground Normal" (3rd party ship wakes and/or wave files). hello guys, i am running P3dV4 , asca, active sky, and using also envshade, envtex and chase plane... i have noticed weird bug with my plane shadows, when i am using the external camera, from one angle the aircraft is completely as shadowed, while if i move slightly to the side it got correct reflections... any idea what that is? https://imgur.com/a/edT67

The wonderful folks over at milviz have completed an upgrade of their F-4J and F-4S which adds the ADV features which the F-4E already has, as well as TacPack features!

I'm still running P3D 3.4 and it works a champ. Still, things are moving on from that version and I'm planning for the move to P3D 4.1. I don't want to invest in a lot of hardware at this point. I know that it's graphically better....will it run better or worse than my 3.4 setup? Gregg

Noticed how Digital Design released a P3Dv4 version of LOWS a couple of days ago. Anyone tried it out yet? I liked the airport very much in P3Dv3 so I guess it's a no-brainer to pay the upgrade price of roughly 6 Euros unless there are some major issues with the product.

After installing KTEX and KASE I noticed things sticking up out of nowhere and trees coming out of banks. Very strange. Even tried the vector update and removed non related bgl's. IS there any fix out there?

So here I am taking a day off from development and trying to perform some flights but no! everything is against me! Flight 1: LOWW to LSZH, using the phenom 300, Windows 10 decided it was a good idea to install updates on the middle of my flight, and what happened? it started touching libraries it should not and PD3 CTD! Has anyone seen this? After installing ORBX Rocky Mountains (Both of them) and then Telluride and Aspen from aerosoft, I get weird anomolies like elevated runways, trees coming out of embankments that have no textures etc. Definitely broken. I ran the Vector repair and remove conflicting bgl,s. Still isnt fixed. Any ideas out there? I do use freemesh X USA and have tried many library order configurations. It just doesnt seem to make these airports look right? Thanks for any help?

Hi, I want to ask something about P3D 4 folder. My p3D is installed on C SSD Drive in Program Files. I have another SSD nearly empty and I wonder if I can move the main folder of P3D to that one because C SSD Drive is nearly full. Please is it possible ? Because to reinstall it on the new SSD it should take many days with those add ons i have Please advise Geo

I have started to have issues when starting P3D up, and I don't know if it warrants a complete reinstall... I start up P3D and on the scenario page the aircraft preview doesn't show up and the default airport is shown as Birmingham without anything surrounding it on the map. When I try and change the airport, it shows only 6 airports to choose from. Also when I choose an aircraft and exit back to the scenarios page, the sim crashes. Hello everyone. I have a problem with this error. I have a 777-200 PMDG Boeing. It seems something doesn't work with liveries because with the pmdg deafault one it worked once. Now I reinstalled the package and doesn't work at all. I'm on prepar3d v3. Every help is appreciated. Thank you.

Hi, just wonder if anyone have played around with the new "Game Mode" that came in the latest update of Win10, with P3D? Suppose to take CPU away from background tasks and give it to the game to give more stable frame rate. -coffecup1978

I have tried this on 3 different aircraft with great success, the Carenado Bonanza, A2A Cherokee and Alabeo Piper Sport, so it will for sure work for others as well. The antialiasing in 3.2 seems improved, but the cockpit panels and gauges still shimmer alot in some aircraft if you don't use 4xSGAA, which as you know is a framekiller when flying through heavier clouds. So to begin with, disable SGAA if you have it on, set 4x or 8x AA in the sim and then go download DxtBMP if you don't already have it. Imagetool for FSX/P3D should also work fine. Something changed in the ground handling in the new update. I cannot get tri gear nose wheel to steer and it just slides. It will turn just a bit but not enough. All planes do this except the PMDG 747 as that has it's own system for ground handling. Tail draggers turn great but not nose gear equipped planes.

Consider my in game menu. (top row) Compare that to how it looked just 3 days ago (bottom row) As you see the text is not as crisp / sharp. What can cause this antialiased effect apart from FXAA which is turned of in P3d and in Nvidia driver? I have uninstalled my display driver twice with Display Driver uninstaller. I have restored original P3D shaders (in case some PTA profiles were applying their own antialiasing(?) I have deleted p3d.cfg Nothing works. I am running WIN10 on 4K screen set to native resolution.
