Dear flightfriends, I'm pretty new to p3d and PMDG ngx 737. Have been playing (not flying...) a lot with fsx in the past. I remembered how difficult it was to bind controls to keys and joystick. I used fsuipc for that but every time I started fsx some settings seemed to have changed. Now I am trying some serious stuff. I want to learn how to fly the PMDG 737 in P3D V4. I hav a Thrustmaster warthog throttle/stick and an CH Eclipse Yoke and I have the paid version of FSUIPC. The PMDG manual says it's better to not calibrate controls in FSUIPC but in the driver/software that comes with the controller, is that true? Does anyone have a profile that I can use of at le…

Building a new system and wondering how much space P3dv4 takes up. I was thinking about getting an extra ssd just for Flight simulator software loading. Has anyone else used a separate ssd drive for that? Are there advantages / disadvantages that you have found? Other option is simply buy a larger 1 gig ssd. The cost is about the same as 2 500 gig. After migrating to P3D v4.1, I started to add all my freeware sceneries via add-on.xml method. It's very nice, because you don't need to copy Effects files to the sim folder. The problem is that if I have more than 38 entries in my add-ons folder, I start to have some texture issues, like you can see in the picture bellow: It only happens if I have more than 38 entries, no matter what add-on is. Do you know if there is any limit of add-ons that can be added to the sim?

Hi all, I have been looking around for the ftx central v2 installer but have not been able to find it. Would this work with Windows Vista and if so where could i find this? I did find a link on the Orbx forums but the download could start but never complete. Thanks, Seb

Hello, I have recently reinstalled the entire P3D v4.1 system due to a SSD crash. Before that I was mostly flying GA VFR with A2A Cessna 172. When I did some test flights, all seemed fine until I tried to apply some rudder to yaw the plane. The pedal goes to the left, the vertical stabilizer as well but the plane just isn't yawning (just a tiny little bit, like if I tried to bank with control locks on). The plane steers just fine on the ground. I tried different planes (default like Piper Cub, Mooney Bravo) and the problem was there as well... Helicopters turn around normally. I'm installing the freeware "YFLI for Prepar3Dv4" from Fatcatscenery at the moment. In the readme it instructs to install it to the ecosystem folder inside the sims root folder. As i have nearly all my sceneries organized outside in custom folders the xml-way, i want to do it here as well. Generally it should be no problem as there are just effects, scenery and texture folders (plus winter and summer textures for manual exchange by user) in this freeware. So for me it looks like it should be business as usaual to install it outside like i always do it. Hi all, I am trying to migrate to p3d v4 from FSXSE. I use 2 monitors, one for main display and second for Aft panel in PMDG 737. In FSX I can drag the panel to the second monitor and then resize it to hide the sides of the panel showing the background. So the sides slide off the screen and are hidden allowing full size of the actual panel itself. Now in P3D when I resize the panel and slide it to the centre of the monitor the background at the side appears back on the main screen. Is there any way to stop this in P3D. In FSX the panel only reappears onto the main screen as the cursor doing the dragging moves across from second monitor to main monitor. Diff…

Hello, so an unfortunate thing has happened to me, my SDD with Windows and P3D v4.1 died. Therefore I need to do a complete reinstall of everything. Wohoo.. I think that since I've gotta do it, I might as well do it right. My questions are as follows: I have 256 GB SSD and 1 TB HDD. Windows is naturally going on the SSD. Should I install P3Dv4.1 there as well? Or will the HDD be a better option? I have a lot of huge add-ons. Is there any benefit of installing add-ons outside of P3Dv4.1 root folder? How do I effectively do that, should I want to? Do you use any tools for managing add-ons? Which ones? Is there any way that I can get …

My new build uses a Ryzen 1600X, EVGA 1080 and as of now an LG 29 ultra wide which is 1080p. I want to move to 1440p; budget is $600 although I’d love to spend less. I’m eyeing the Acer Predator 271 and wondering if I’ll miss the ultra wide? Gsync might be nice but I have no clue how useful it really may be in P3D or other games... I guess general thoughts and possible monitor recommendations are appreciated. It doesn’t appear that I can swing ultra wide with Gsync...

In the last week, my flights in P3dv4.1 have been interrupted after a short time with this message: "AS_P3Dv4 cannot control ambient weather parameters correctly, thus is cannot function properly at this point and will shut down. Please make sure you have proper rights/ownership of the program files (x86) folder and have trusted/excluded AS_P3dv4 from your security software, as well as the simulator's as_srv folder and included .dll modules." This was something I think I could do did back in FS2004, but not since. You could hold down a key combination to make either the plane or the outside environment change its zoom factor, and it made for wonderful crisper outside screenshots that you can't do w/ the default behavior in P3D because the closer you get to the plane exterior the closer you get to the background environment which gets more and more fuzzy/pixilation of sorts.

Hi Guys, Just to let you know that I did check the forums for about 20 pages but didn't find anything. I would like to start adding my own ai to P3D V4. I know it's a huge project but winter is coming so I will have some free time. I am so jealous of those members who have lots of beautiful ai at their airports and would like the same. I have started to download models from FAIB, UTT, AIG,, and flying carpet but they don't have all the models so I would like to know what models are guaranteed to work in P3D V4. There are some ai malcontent and fspaix models on avsim, but not sure if those will work. I don't want to start installing them just to see what happens …

Morning guys! I saw that the turbine duke as a service ceiling altitude of 28,000 but if you climb to that altitude the pressurization system cant keep the cabin altitude below 10,000. It only manages to keep the cabin at 11,000 or so and the aircraft displays a red warning. So what's the point? Why do you have a service ceiling of 28,000 if your pressurization system cant coupe? I guess its worst on the piston duke. Its service ceiling is 30,000 so i guess its cabin altitude must be 12,000 or so. Do duke pilots climb to 28,000 anyway and ignore the red warning? Or they try to stay below 10,000 cabin altitude?

Hello, I don't think I am the only one with this problem, but I am having a terrible time with P3D dynamic lighting. My FPS goes down to 7. Is Lockheed looking into this? Dynamic lighting is so beautiful but I can't use it because it cripples my system!!!! Is there anything I can do to help it? Thoughts?

Patch released for the Just Flight C-46 Commando today. It can actually fly now lol. Rudder is a bit sensitive, but otherwise it seems okay. DHC-3 Otter has a small patch today too.

A program such as Prepar3d can be a daunting thing for many of us new to flight simulators. Whenever I have an issue that is causing me difficulty, I have found that either a search of this forum or, if the search does not provide an answer I can use, posting my question gets me RIGHT WHERE I NEED TO BE! All of you are great at sharing knowledge and you ask nothing in return so, I just wanted to make sure to let you know that I appreciate all that you do. Thank you!

So I have been having a huge problem since P3D v3 and it has continued into P3D V4: I have violent shaking when I am following an ai plane. It doesn't matter where, what time, and what setting i am at, It still shakes all over the place and is so annoying. I have received some help on the forums but no suggestions have helped. But that's not the problem I am having now. I have discovered that when I unplug the power cord to the computer the screen dims but the shaking stops. When I plug it back in then the shaking starts right up again. I have tested it all day by following flights in the same area and at the same time and I always get the same result. Has anyone eve…

Guys I am pulling my hair out. My mixture keeps going to idle, causing my engine to fail. This could happen every few seconds or every few minutes. If I put it into automixture, the engine fails but comes straight back on, not very realist. If I have automixture off, I have to restart the engines. I have tried everything to no avail. I have carefully looked at my axis's and have no conflicts. I do not have mixture enabled in FSUIPC. It happens to every aircraft. It happens if I disengage the joystick. I have even deleted the command for mixture to idle. I have deleted my P3D.cfg file. I am running P3D ver 4.1. Any help is GREATLY appreciated. Many thanks Jo…

I am unable to load a selected plan to either KSAN, and now suddenly KPDX which I just landed at no problem earlier today. After a clean reboot I attempted to load my Dash 8 into a gate at KPDX and the scenery/texture loading graphic never appears, the blue circle spins and a shutdown of P3D V3.0 ensues. I've had a stable install since V3.0 appeared and the only changes made recently were installing FTX OpenLC NA--not sure if it had anything to do or not with this new issue. Has anyone else had this problem, for some reason my Scenery Library has been "reshuffled" with the ORBX scenery at the bottom which is creating some elevation issues.

Can you run Prepar3dv4 with dual GPUs? How's your performance in SLI?

P3d V4.1 with default AI traffic. the strobes on all aircraft all blink at the same time. It looks crazy. anyway to fix this? Does Ultimate Traffic LIve fix this?
