I've just delved into the world of Prepar3d V4, so forgive me for the beginner questions :) First off, I'm using a 34-inch ultra-wide Acer predator monitor, should I set my default views for widescreen on the settings menu or untick the box? Second question: how can I save my custom views to automatically come up the next time I open up Prepar3d? And the third question, I did purchase Orbx Vector, Global base, Open LC North American, HD Trees, isn't there another company that competes with them perhaps? Or any recommendations as to what must have scenery enhancements to buy next? As a regular X-Plane 11 user, I appreciate "photo real" scenery. And finally, what is the bes…

Hi All is this the P3D FORUM? For the last few days, I've tried going to the Lockheed Martin site and filling out a registration form (with my correct email address, correct License ID, etc) and repeatedly getting a message to the effect of incorrectly answering the question about being human or a "bot" (I believe I've been correctly answering a question about middle five characters or last seven letters). Hi all. I am having some issues with overcast clouds. Whenever there are heavy clouds (typically overcast), my framerate tanks from 70+ to single digits until it finally hard reboots my system. I am positive the reboot is due to my power supply failing, and is in the process of being replaced (just waiting on slow APO shipping). I have reduced cloud layers in AS4, reduced AA, reduced the cloud texture sizes, all to no avail. I did a fresh reinstall of 4.1 (it was doing this in 4.0 as well), and I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong. This can happen in any aircraft that I am flying. Hello! I have never done one of these benchmark style write ups so I apologize if my method is extremely crude and not at all scientific. I just wanted to give an idea of performance. I have been using a computer that has had 8GB of RAM, a GTX 1080 ti, a 2700k OCed to 4.8GHZ on air and conventional hard drives for the past 6 years. Hey everyone! After many, many hours of overtime, I just recently made an upgrade (To give my little brother my old rig) and the OS is Windows 10 (yuck #WIndows7forever). Hi, I want to report a FPS Problem I get while running p3d. As soon as the Sim loads (London Heathrow) FPS are around 25-30. Suddenly drops down to 6-7 and back again to previous. A lack of graphics occur and I must find out the reason. Anyone to help me please? Geo

After my adventure shared here https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/522926-texture_size_exp10-gives-me-out-of-memory/#comment-3737174 i was still having some strange issue with stutters, and where some weird ones, only while taxiing and turning or when using cinema mode in chaseplane, after some more investigation i found that MSi Afterburner was causing it, after closing it smooth as butter. Really like Afterburner but for now is a no go for me while flying, im using the last 4.4.0 version. Just wanted to alert the community for those who have similar symptoms.

All of a sudden the engine sound is working only half the time. Switch sounds and click sounds work fine. This is in P3D v3.4 Any ideas? I think I remember reading somewhere that if you delete your .cfg files then when you open p3d it will generate new ones, and that was almost like reinstalling prepar3d. Has anyone tried that? And would it fix a sound problem? Thanks

Hey all, I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed that the clouds cast shadows on the airplane, even when the airplane is above them. I have cloud shadows on obviously, and they look great on the ground. But after climbing up over the clouds I wouldn't expect to still see them on the plane. Is this a REX issue possibly or just the way the cloud shadows are rendered? I can post a short video if needed to show what I'm seeing. Thanks.

Dear Members, So, I've taken the leap from XPLANE here! Hope all goes well... :) Let's just say it's been expensive so far :) Can I assign my mouse, right click button, to control the camera? Here's the xml for adding on vol6-1 in P3D4. Just change the paths to your install locations..... Rather presciently, ES distributed their backups neatly in the required folders, so all you have to do is unzip your ESI-packs (if you made them) and structure the add-on.xml accordingly. Easy-peasy! I kept getting content error messages saying the 'TITLE' attribute was required...what it meant was it needed the <Name>...</Name> entry! Using the new version v3.2.03. When I want to configure FTX Global Vector it states: "No installed simulator was found on your system! FTX VECTOR Configurator will now exit!" I have FTX Central3 on my SSD m.2 drive and P3D v4 on a hard drive. Is this an issue?

Does anyone know what the specific e-mail address would be with SPAD.next registration information? I purchased a license a while ago and I had to replace the SSD and install a new operating system recently after my SSD with Windows 7 failed. This should be simple but for some reason it isn't. I don't know if it's a language issue or what but I am having trouble getting assistance from SPAD.next support at this point. The program has me in a trial period right now and it's up in 10 days. Bonjour, I am not sure if it is the good place to ask my question ! Here is my problem. With autopilot on, at 8100 ft, the speed is supposed to be around 240 kts, but I cannot get past 170kts. I am certainly doing something wrong but I have no idea. I cannot change trim to gain speed, the A/P always set it to 1%. Thanks for your help. Claude

Hello. I've got the most current version of EZdok as well as the current version of 4.1. The install of EZdok seemed to go OK but after running the configuration tool it started acting up.. It would load "EZCA" on Windows startup even though it wasn't in 'Start Programs.' Then P3D would load on startup as well though it would not progress past the startup splash screen. Running Process Explorer I could see Prepar3D and an instance of SODE running. I killed both those process but when I attempted to restart Prepar3D the same thing would happen. I used the P3D installer to attempt to repair the installation but that has had no effect. Any thoughts as to how to p…

Evening all.. After upgrading to V4.1 I've been struggling to install Aerosoft EDDF V2.. Is this addon available for V4.1 yet? This guide is absolutely outstanding! If you are having issues with uninstalling/reinstalling P3D, installing ORBX/FTX Regions and/or Troubleshooting the installations, this is a must-see guide. Hi, Just moved to P3Dv4.1 and after installing my addon scenery in a separate folder outside the P3D root folder(with Lorby's addon manager) I tried to do the same with my addon aircraft. But the addon aircraft don't show in the P3Dv4.1 vehicle list. What did I do so far? 1. Created D:\ Addon Aircraft with the sub-dir.'s : Simobjects/airplanes; gauges;effects;sounds;fonts. I know that all that is required to update from version 4.0 to 4.1 is to install the "client" portion of the download. However, I understand that if you want the rain effects, and other enhancements, you need to install the "content" piece. Then there is the "scenery" piece. Have you installed all 3 parts of the update, or just the Client? I see there are 3 parts to the "content". 2 Cab files and the main portion. Please let me know exactly how to install the Cab files into the sim. I'm assuming you place the 3 files into a folder on your desktop and just run the executable file. Does that automatically take in the Cab files? In FSX, Cab files were place…
