I don't know about you folk, but I'm really enjoying the improved stability and lack of VAS issues that v4 has brought. With that in mind, I thought I'd describe the way I'm typically using this sim to fly in November 2017. For the other v4.1 simmers out there, I'd be interested in exactly what your typical flight looks like (it might give me some good ideas!) Hey Everyone Like to get some options of weather add-ons and textures. I have HiFi ASP4 for weather but I didn't buy ASCA with it. I have REX bought for V3 but there is so many updates and versions I am not sure if there is any upgrades for V4 with the REX products I have for V3. As well there is ENVTEX with a new shader tool. I have do PTA which I am happy with. What are simmers using and what is the best on the market at this time. I know most of this is personal option but it would be nice to hear what is out there. Hello, Just installed Prepar3D V4.1 a few days ago and It seems to work OK, the only thing I noticed is that I miss Hawaii scenery, only has two tiny islands that I don't even recognize. The question is how can I fix this??? I d/l ok, ended up with a Zip file of 12.749.853, unzipped and installed as normal. Never noticed any errors. I must have Hawaii. Hope I don't have to start over. Thanks for your advice.

I'm seeking some other suggestions on my issue i'm having with p3d.. I've tried pretty much all suggestions found on here for the dreaded stuttering and laggy loading of textures (lagging even with the lancair at 150 knots). So far i've done the following to try to get closer to a baseline: 1. tried various AM's.. 2. eliminated AM's 3. reset prepar3d.cfg 4. lowered graphical sliders 5. reinstalled nvidia 1080 driver to default using a clean install of the driver 6. this is on a clean windows 10 (creators update, latest updates) drive as well, or was a month ago 7. tried locking frames via NI, setting NI to Fast sync, Setting p3d to vsync o…

I have just downloaded via 19 dvd's the above product and is on my C Drive even though I placed the dvd's on my D Drive. Anyway the product shows within my scenery library and is positioned in the right place. However,when I fire up P3D v4.1 I get the following message; Could not find Scenery Area 100's scenery directory C:\FSGU_NG\OCE\Scenery and the same for the next 7 entries. I then have to say yes to unloading the areas for P3d to open up. Now,I notice in my scenery cfg file all 7 entries show the following; Active=False Required =False. Hello, I have dowload and installed LINDA 3.04 and saw all the Tuto in Video but I don't find the solution to my problem. On some airplanes, my "Battery Switch Button" (programmed directly with FSUIPC) doesn't work. Same as Fuel Selector Valve that doesn't work on some Airplane. How to set this on LINDA ? I need some assistance from the dash 8 guru's. Now lets assume all radios are dialled correctly, including the course for a VOR approach. I just want confirmation when executing VOR approaches, do you need to initally be in heading select mode, then arm nav to intercept the VOR radial? What I am finding is if I leave the nav source to FMS to follow the flight plan, when nearing the VOR listed in the approach my flight plan disappears and the AP starts to make uncommanded turns, possibly following the VOR course I had selected. This is not what I want it to do as I wanted it to follow my flight plan. Thanks Branko

After migrating to P3Dv4.1, I started do add some sceneries that does not have a installer using the "Add-ons" method, like modern companies (A2A, FSDT, Flightbeam) are doing. In that way, I don't need to copy effects files to the sim folder, keeping the installation folders cleaner. But after adding about 15 sceneries this way, I noticed some collateral effect. Some GSX vehicles loose their textures and even some aircraft like A2A and PMDG stoped to load their textures (and became black). Removing all the sceneries xml from the add-ons directory, makes everything comes back to normal. Now, I'd like to know how you guys are doing. What's the best way to add manu…

The world is a pretty depressing place at the moment but this time of year is always good for flightsimmers as it signals the potential release of loads of new toys. We know we're getting FSFX packages recorder which makes me quite happy. What else is in the mix?

Not sure if this has already been discussed. I did quick look in the forums and didn't see anything. I have traditionally set my P3D internal display settings to 59 fps with Vsync OFF. This has given me the best performance with a relatively stutter free experience. For reasons I don't fully understand, unlimited frames have always caused more stutters. I'm running an i7-7700K, GTX 1080Ti w/latest driver, and a 60 Hz monitor. After updating from v4.0 to 4.1, I noticed that my screen tearing was horrid with my previous settings. They are bad at 59 fps and even worse at unlimited frames. Enabling Vsync does remove the screen tearing, but I am curious what has ch…

Hello guys, I have had this issue for a really long time now (Around a year) and I have tried a lot of things to fix it. But till this day I have never found anything to fix this issue for me. I have a weird kind of stutter in my sim that makes flying with less than 45 FPS impossible / not fun at all. The A2A Simulations J3 Cub is said by A2A to only be compatible with FSX. Does anyone have any experience using it in Prepar3D v3 or v4? Thanks in advance.

Hi all My P3D was having many add-ons and I found there were some problems about effects (after I have installed precipitfx). I thought the add-on had caused the problem so I deleted it in order to have the default effect. Then I found default effects were also missing...So I did a full reinstall of my Windows 10 and also the P3D. Unfortunately, problem still exists so I have to raise this question here. I bought the Carenado CT182T Skylane G1000 HD Cessna to use in My P3D4 sim. After completenig the install I find that some interior textures are invisible. All of the panel gauges are suspended in mid air! I installed this same aircraft in my FSX-SE and everything is normal, but it's definitely not normal in my P3D v4. I am at a loss as to what is causing that, and hoping someone here can help me resolve this problem. I tried looking for similar problems in the forum, but was unable to find any. I would upload a screen shot of the problem, but haven't figured out how.

Been have some trouble getting Ezdok v2 to work in P3Dv4. I know its not officially compatible yet but I have noticed a lot of people have got it working flawlessly. I have already edit the cameras.cfg (copying from P3Dv3) and also edited the exe.xml in the romaing folder (again the same as P3Dv3). Ezca will launch when I load up P3d but once im in the cockpit, there is some serious lag on my system, everything freezes for around 5-10 seconds then resumes for a matter of seconds then freezes, repeat etc etc etc. If I close ezca in the system tray everything resumes as normal. The other day I brought up how the seasons in our simulated world don't very often match the real life seasons and what you see looking out your window which I personally find quite annoying. Today I came to think of one other thing that always annoyed me quite a bit and wanted to hear if I'm the only one and if there's some kind of fix I overlooked even when I doubt that since I guess it's all on each developer. What I'm thinking of today is how the vehicles on the apron when you're using airport scenery that comes with such seem to be totally blind as well as liberated from any kind of intelligence running straight through your aircraft and sometimes even into…

I am having a problem with the Dash 8 in P3Dv4, in that whatever I do, the take off configuration alarm cannot be silenced. I am using exactly the same checklists I used in the fsx version & never had this problem. I have gone over every item many times i.e. black warning panel, flaps 5 , nosewheel steering off, take off speeds set etc etc. but still the darn thing bleeps. Looking for some up to date info regarding any benefit of using SLI with P3D (and also XP11 in my case).. The situation is that i'm testing triple 4K screens, insane yes.. frame rate can get pretty low.. 26 vs 45 for instance in P3d.. at least that low.. if i use surround mode its about this, but the warping is bad, so it seems the only way to do this is with windowed mode x 3 which kills it even more (unless i'm unaware of a better way).. At any rate.. i have a single 1080 FTW Hybrid.. i was going to SLI another 1080 FTW (non hybrid if this even works) since i cant fit a second pump.. I thought at one point i read that there were no real performance gains …
