I am getting frustration about smoothness in v4.1, sometimes it is really smooth and at 30 fps or above (when unlimited), sometimes is still smooth at panning at 25 fps but also many times I got stutters and 15-19 fps.. Tried also the 30Hz but when fps are at 20.. does not use anymore. Even if I do not change anything, I see 30 fps and 5 minutes later, 24 fps in VC... To summarize, why I can have the panning so smooth even at 20 fps but sometimes at the same fps is really stuttering? I've been using P3DV4's latest update for a while now. I feel performance increased in that update. I have flown probably close to one hundred hours on it and I just can't fault the performance under my system specs. I use photoreal scenery, and about 25 pct. Civil and Commercial AI, enough to pass contrails in the flight levels which I just love, just like real life. All my other options are maxed out. I keep a 33fps lock and it has prevented any blurries from happening, I did not tweak the LOD as I think the default has it just about right, and higher LOD's use more memory. I've settled down with the Citation 550 for most of my flights, and the 337 for slower …

Hi all, I realise this has most like been asked multiple times by several people, however, those are outdated questions. Currently I'm running FSX on my PC. I want to upgrade to P3D V4 to take advantage of the 64 bit environment and visuals. My only concern is whether my system will allow me to run it to the 'smoothness' I want. I'm not looking for crazy FPS like 40 to 50. I'm looking for something that feels fine and smooth, probably 25-30 fps. I know I can go to the Lockheed Martin website and look at the recommended specs, however I want a first hand account from people who sim regularly. Hello, I picked up ASP4 during the sale, and so far its running perfectly. I get around 30 frames in normal conditions with my NGX. I did a stress test, with Full clouds, heavy rain, and a bit fog on both the payware airports i own. I got around 25fps in FSGD VOBL and around 20 during the approach at FlyTampa OMDB. I am also interested in getting REX 4 Texture Direct with soft clouds and ORBX FTX Global. Will I be able to maintain the same performance with both of them installed ? I'm about to jump into 4 engine simulation more so (dash 8, pmdg, a320x etc on p3dv4.1).. at this point i just have a ch eclipse yoke on my desk using the under desk mount.. I dont have a ton of room to the right of the yoke, but enough i might just barely be able to fit something like this: Ch Quadrant (6 lever) or better yet, maybe something like this Logitech Either way.. if it has less than 4 throttle axes, i guess i'd want the 4 combined with the yoke to somehow lineup.. i dont know that the logitech saitek one would line up with the ch yoke that well, meaning i'd probably need to go with the first option for an all in one shot. Hi, Doing a bit of housework on P3D and I have a few questions. 1. I've been told to rebuild my terrain.cfg in order to try and solve my terrain.dll CTD's. Is this simple as moving the terrain.cfg to a different folder, running P3D and letting it build a brand new one? Or is it just better to rebuild the p3d.cfg which will reset everything back to default? 2. I'd also like to completely reinstall my ORBX products. I use FTX Central 3 and I've noticed there isn't an option to uninstall the scenery libraries. How would I go about successfully reistalling ORBX Global, LC Europe, the libraries and FTX Central? Is there a certain order to uninstall then install?…

Hello all - I have posted on JF forum but wondering if anyone here has this issue. Upon purchasing this aircraft for P3D v4.1, it constantly loses power above 3000 ft leading to a stall. I have seen something similar on the JF forum but the solution was an update - but this was back in May. This cannot be the issue for the 4.1 version. I have gone through the manual, followed the checklists and looked at multiple videos and nothing that I can see would lead to this problem unless I'm blind as a bat or simply missing something. I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

Hi, I have P3D V4 (also V3 and V3 is installed as well). Windows 8.1. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 (actual driver). My problem is that I have dynamic lights (P3D V4) activated, and the lights of my plane are dynamic as they light the apron building and taxiways as well es all the other objects. Also the lights of the AI traffic are dynamic and the light of GSX vehicles as well. But I have just got a completely dark apron at all airports. Justsim Dusseldorf V4 version, AS professional airports, T2G MUC and many others which support dynamic lights. But the dynamic lights just aren´t there. What could that be?.

Hello all! I've reached out to both TOGA and ASP4 so far, but I wanted to drop this here to see if anyone is getting similar issues. So i have my textures with ENVTEX, and I have ASCA+ENVTEX integration enabled. When I'm in the sim, it seems to load my sky textures that I select from ENVTEX, but when ASP4 gets its updated weather info and refreshes, it completely changes the sky textures to something completely different, like a green haze. To remedy this, I go into my graphics settings, CHANGE NOTHING, go back into the simulator and boom, everything is fine again. It's more frustrating than anything as I did not have this issue on V3. Hi Folks, Wondering if anyone can offer advice to my problem. I run P3Dv4.1, I use SimStarterNG, ENVTEX, ASP4 and ASCA. Everything in P3d pretty much Maxed out. I have contacted both TOGA (ENVTEX) and HIFI (ASP4), and am waiting on some advice, thus far have tried some of the avenues to explore as informed, but No Luck. I have tried reinstall of ASP4, direct start of P3D outside of Sim Starter, have restored ENVTEX, without any success. I just don't have any Lightning or Thunder in my Simulation? Hi all, as mentioned my P3DV4.1 crashes when it wants but at least not inflight - only on startup of the scenario lol -.-. BIG problem is - i did a search and kill of all my addons and did yesterday a flight with my 737NGX and today i got a crash. Literally over night my P3D does not work anymore in the same config. It has been a few years since I've used an FTX Region. And I remember at that time, due to simulator limitations, there was a hybrid mode of flying outside of the region. It still looked good, but you lost some of the custom autogen. The recent announcement of FTX Netherlands and Germany already being out has me eager to get back into using them. My question is, was Orbx able to overcome the need for a hybrid mode with P3Dv4?

Probably old news, but the xbox360 controller + chaseplane is a hell of a combination. Really sweet way of panning and zooming around the aircraft or airport.

Hi guys, I am looking for a traffic addon to use in P3D V4. I currently use MT6a which seems to work fine but the models are horrible looking for the most part. That is the main reason I am looking for another alternative. Right now I have WOAI fsx native models installed and they look great, but most of the WOAI stuff is from fs9 and wont work in V4. I am looking for the best looking models mainly for use with vpilot and vatsim. So I don't really care about accurate flight plans and all that stuff. They must be FSX native models. Any recommendations?

At KFTC this morning frames tanked from 30 (30mHz vert refresh synced) as the Majestic Q400 loaded into this airport down to 12 fps within 60 seconds or so of full load of the airplane which started cold and dark. This is a blatant aberration as this setting would easily be managed by my settings. The only thing I could tell might have done this is I was surrounded by ground mist or something. Turning cloud and terrain shadowing off had no impact and besides GPU utilization with those shadows turned on was still low around 62%. I don't think this is the Fx_WheelWetSpray.fx or fx_WheelSnowSpray.fx files because this is happening when the plane's engines haven't even …

Hi, I am thinking of upgrading my monitor. Plan is to go for 4K. Now, I am using an old 1280 x 1024, 19 inch monitor with a great fps results. I have never had such a smooth experience in any flight sim, from FS9 up to now P3DV4. The trick is that my monitor is set to 50hz (lower is not possible) :( and my hardware is almost capable to keep that fps in most of conditions. In some cases it goes below 45 fps and I can observe some small stutters but not a big deal. My plan is to go for bigger screen, probably 28 inch from 19 right now.
