Hi everyone, I'm interested in any feedback you might have around ATC add-ons for P3D v4. It's something I think it missing from my simulator experience and I'm not a big fan of VATSIM or IVAO. I understand there are a few options but I'm not sure on the pros and cons of each and would appreciate your thoughts. Do any of the existing add-ons even support P3D v4? Thanks in advance! Ady

Hello, I'm on the fence about purchasing this, looking for feedback in three areas: - From what I've read it works best with flightplans that include SIDS and STARS. What happens if that airports you're flying into don't use SIDS/STARS or have a very simple SID? For example, in Canada many airports have a SID that consists of "fly runway heading, maintain 5,000 or as assigned by ATC". How does PROATC-X deal with these types of situations? - Similar to above, from what I've read, vectoring is better than in previous versions. So if I chose not to fly a STAR, or the STAR concluded with ATC vectors, am I going to get decent/realistic vectors? - How does it handle s…

Hello, I know there are lots of posts about this, some though very old. Both products advanced since then (supposedly...). I am currently combining UTXv2 with openLC and Global. I am thinking of getting Vector, however I am afraid of losing a lot of detail. There are cities and surroundings I know somewhat better, and UTX maybe here does a better job, simply because it's lesser area, with more detail, I don't know... I can't combine both, so I must decide. I also mostly fly in Europe, sometimes USA, but rarely over the pond or somewhere else, mostly due to time needed (4hrs+ flights), is what I usually cannot put into daily schedule. Doe…

Hello Simmers, Finally, after five years, I have upgraded most of my hardware to a quite powerful system (see below). Now I am looking for a good tutorial/guide how to overclock on a ASUS x299 board. Are there any experiences? As I have a very powerful CPU, now the video card seems to be a bit weak. Are there any tweaks to shift tasks from VC to CPU for even better performance/visuals? Hello, Does anyone know the significance of a blinking localizer deviation scale? During a LIFR approach the Localizer was centered, but blinking. I didn't have any errors on the ECAS. It was very low visibility so I couldn't tell if I was actually following the localizer. Went around and bailed out. Sorry to ask such questions here, but this is where I feel at home. Also, is there access to Airbus FCOM volumes somewhere on the web? I'd be happy (sorta) to find the answer myself. Hello, not sure this is the right place, and also if posted again. If so, im sorry. Topic is the newly (yesterday) released P3d v4 airport addon from TropicalSim, TAPA, buyable from SimMarket. The installer, this time not from simMarket themself, can destroy your scenery.cfg. Its the old known problem of changing the encoding of the file, resulting in the centent of it beeing chinese gibberish. Wich really shouldnt happen anymore by now... but thats not the point. The installer gives you the option to add the scenery to the library manually and this is what you SHOULD choose in this case. Then you simply can add it by hand through p3d. I know Aerosoft has a scenery for it but I've heard it's not compatible for v4? Is there any good alternative?

Do you guys have constant FPS throughout the day? I have perfectly fine 30fps at day (locked). But when it comes to dawn, dusk and night, my frames are going down to single digits. It seems to be related to the position of the sun. My specs are not that bad: I7 6700k 4.5ghz GTX 970 4K 30hz Resolution I have dynamic lighting on and my AA settings are at 2xMSAA. When using the time preview feature, I can see how my fps are falling steadily once it gets close to dawn, dusk and night. However sometimes I can achieve the 30fps once it gets "full" night. Hi everyone , Just a little question regarding finding the right gate at "some" payware airfields. The numbers and letters not always just fit to the gates inside P3Dv4 (or earlier versions for that matter) Why is it so hard for developers to line this up so i know where to start and finish ? Right now i am at KSDF and was planning to do a flight between KSDF and KSLC as UPS(5x) 3846 in a 744BCF but i am lost where to start ? Anyone else having these kind of challenges ? btw . A sunken wheels Issue has been reported after installing LatinVFR's KSAN v2 over ORBX' FTX SoCal Region. I recalled that I had disabled 2 SCA files for compatibility after a previous FTX KSAN installation. From the P3Dv4 root folder these files are in ORBX\FTX_NA\FTX_NA_SCA05_scenery: ADE_FTX_SCA_KSAN.BGL ADE_FTX_SCA_KSAN_CVX.BGL I had renamed these files, as in ADE-FTX-SCA_KSAN.BGL.off -- so I've removed the ".off" and together with the recent LVAR KSAN v2 hotfix this corrected the sunken wheels issue.

Hello everyone, I just move to p3dv3 yes v3 from fsx, I'm trying to move my sceneries and AI to p3d. Everything goes well except to an specific AI in klax airport. Im using the FSDT scenery but i just ruled out its not the scenery the cause my p3d to crash during loading because the scenery loads w/o the AI. Is there any way to check a faulty AI might be or texture or the model that cause the crash? Im using the ACA_2017 to check the errors but it seems everything is fine. I tried to load the scenery at anytime but still it crash the moment it reach at 91% when loading AI. I don't experience this to other airports. Im using the same AI i used in my FSX but it never …

I've been having some trouble with the lighting (shadows?) and pretty much the sun as a whole. As you can see from the link below there's a significant change in lighting just by paning my camera slightly to the left or right. There's like a point whereas if I look east there's extra sunlight, and when I look a bit more to the south it goes away again. All shadows and sun effects just vanishes, or as if there's an extra sun somewhere that pops up and casts sunlight. :s Has anyone else encountered this before and is there a fix? I have started training to become a real life pilot (as a hobby), but for now I mainly continue to be passionate to learn from the community and spend a few hours during nights and weekends doing my airliner flights on my PC. Hi Guys! I'm now using P3D v4 and it's amazing! Yesterday I installed my Orbx package on it but I'd get very weird things. The terrain changes when I fly over it and square lakes on top of mountains etc... I now did a clean install of Windows 10 and P3D. This time I'm more carefull. The install order I'm familiar with. First base, then vector and last OpenLC, but what is the best time to install the new libraries? Right in de beginning or in the end?? Thank you very much!!

This is an issue that others have had in the past but there doesn't appear to be a simple fix without a complete reinstall. I ran the client, content and scenery installs following Poppet's guide and initially everything seemed OK but then it dawned on me that I had no low and mid level clouds. Installing clouds from REX TD, REX soft clouds, ASCA or ENVTEX has no effect just clear skies or cirrus when there should have been lots of low mid level clouds. Have deleted shaders and reinstalled effects from a backup with no joy. Any suggestions short of a complete reinstall appreciated. Thank you. Bruceb

Currently running i7-3770k OC at 4.5GHz with HT ON. And GTX 1080 FTW 8GB and 32GB Ram. Would upgrading my CPU to i7-7700/8700 make a big difference to me in terms of performance in P3D v4.1?

Hello, I've been enjoying simulating failures in the A320. I have a question: How can I retard a single throttle? Or can I... I have a single axis throttle controller (CH Pro Throttle) and I'm using FSUIPC. When I simulate an engine failure, I am directed to reduce engine X throttle to idle. I use the mouse to drag the throttle, but it simply bounced back to match the controller position. Does anybody have a suggestion, short of not using my controller? Thanks,

Hi there, yesterday i switched from p3dv3 to p3dv4. Did also a fresh win10 install. Now iam wondering whats "the best", or lets say, your favorite way, to make p3dv4 look better, texture and shaderwise. I have all important programms to work with: Rex 4 with softclouds, Rex hd airports, envtex, pta2, asca. In V3 i used a mix of those programms. When i remember correctly, i used a free sky texture package injected and activated in asca, lots of Rex 4 textures beside clouds and sky. Best runway textures come from Rex hd airports in my opinion. From envtex i only used the coral reef textures. Beside that i used the free pta with a slightly modified adam 20_10 …

Does anyone have some light to shed on this, or has the same? My gpu 980ti evga OC is pegged at 99% no matter what I do or change. I run 4790k at 4.8 ghz, and 4k res. (this isnt it, when i change to 1080p it still sits at 99%) FPS as a result fluctuates a great deal, and sim is not smooth. I usually run at 30 hz and it was smooth as butter before 4.1. I dont go crazy with the settings eiter, but changing them doesnt do a thing, still 99% all the time, no fluctuations, just 99%. (Vram is 40% used) edit: addons: UT live, chaseplane, GSX, FSUIPC 5. Last three months, I am having a major problem with Control, Axis, Calibration and FSUIPC settings with my all planes. I went through all problem solving possibilities none of them fixed the problem. I cannot fly . I just run the repair for P3D v4.1. No luck. What I suppose to do? I deleted FSUIPC no result. I have CH Pedals & Eclipse Yoke. I uploaded latest CH Control Manager, No lucks. Do I need to replace CH pedal and yoke. If yes what do you advise? Thanks

Recently I somehow had kclt from fsdreamteam installed along with imaginesim kclt. It was causing a conflict so I deleted fsdreamteam. Now when I load v4.1, I get a message saying “cannot find .dat files. Addon manager will not run”. One time the sim loaded when starting at kclt and the second time I got a ctd when loading a different airport. What do I need to do here? Should I restore back to a time prior to me deleting fsdreamteam? I didnt think this would be an issue. Thanks
