Hi, I really like the light bloom effect you can enable in FSX to make the night and runway lights more bright/intense/volumetric. How can I get a similar effect in P3D v4 ? Thanks in advance Flugsimulatorpilot

Is it possible to save the panel state in the Captain Sim 757? For the life of me, I cannot find it in the manual or figure it out in the FMC. Any help would be appreciated.

I've been trying to get P3Dv4 to work without blurries and texture popping when flying fast jets, but am unable. Does anyone have any good tips? I've flown with zero auotgen, no traffic, no shadows, no water effects etc. But still, texture loading just can't keep up when flying 700 kts in a jet at low level.

Are there any add-on aircraft with their GPS that can read fsAerodata? For example, Carenado, Eaglesoft etc. have their implementation of GNS530, G1000 etc. Thanks,

Hi Folks, I have recently noticed that when flying with a flight plan in the GPS, I am unable to select an approach at the destination airport. The selection page is empty. However when using "Direct To" the destination approaches appear as expected. I am only using the default GPS as it is implemented in the Carenado and RealAir aircraft. I also recently subscribed to fsaerodata and Navigraph and updated the nav data. I hate to admit it but I don't remember if this was an issue previously or not. Anyone know if this is the normal behavior in the default GPS. If not, any thoughts on how I might correct this? Thanks, Jesse

Hello - I have been using P3dV4 for about a month now, and suddenly today the program will not start. Once I run the program, the initial splash screen appears, and then the screen goes black permanently, so it never gets to the scenarios screen. I tried doing a repair from the programs list, and also deleted the prepar3d.cfg file for a rebuild. I have not added anything since I last ran the program two days ago, so I am at a complete loss as to what is up. I have a pretty good system so no issues there. I did run the Microsoft compatibility test for the heck of it, and it came back with "prepar3d is not compatible." I can't for the life of me figure out what's doing, but…

<problem solved> Hello pilots, I have a strange problem with my IVAO IVAP client in combination with FSUIPC5103 "Press the key to be sent when you press this button" feature in P3DV4. Let my try to explain: I configured a few buttons on my joysticks (yoke and HOTAS Warthog) via the FSUIPC "Buttons + Switches" tab and the option "Press the key to be sent when you press this button". A specific example is a button that when pressed should output the "S" corresponding the keyboard "S" for this explame to P3D view switching. I recently deactivated nvidia inspector and got much better frames. However in doing so I noticed I am getting pop ups, blurries and studders. I am very happy about the frames but want to try to reduce the blurries and studders but am not sure where to start in NI or the sim. Can someone point me in the right direction on what I can look into? I have a number of different saved settings and any of them seem to result in the same blurries and studders. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I'm a little stumped here, P3dv4 runs great unless I try to originate a flight out of TNCM. If I do I get a ctd - scenery loads to 100% then the sim just sits there with the message that P3d has stopped. I am using the stock P3d scenery. The only recent additions to my sim were to buy and install FlyTampa's CYYZ and the Carenado B1900 HD. I can't see how either of these would have an effect. But, hey you never know. Other scenery, both stock and add on seem to work fine. Any ideas? Kevin

Hello Captains: Just have a problem for Active Sky. When I fly into clouds, it shows really strange. It seems that there's no cloud effect, just texture swipe the aircraft. Does anyone know what was going wrong? I tried reinstall the Active Sky, P3D, and entire Windows, but none of them works. I have ORBX north America products, REX & Soft Cloud, and Active Sky installed in my P3D V4 Thanks very much and happy fly.

I am trying to install ReShade, and when I install it (following the youtube tutorial by Pilot Pete (member on here) and then try to start P3D, P3D gets stuck on the "Terrain Loading 6%" forever. If I go to the P3D folder, there are three new "dgxi" files that are installed when I install ReShade. If I delete them, P3D starts fine and works, but I am not sure if that then renders ReShade useless? Also, the screenshot button for reshade is PRINT SCR? Does this mean i need to paste it into something to work, or does it save somewhere? Thanks!

So I'm thinking of buying this airport because I'd like to do some United 738 ETOPS flights out of KLAX. I just wanted to know if FSDT version will still match the current charts (taxiways, runways etc), if not I'll just download an AFCAD. Thanks!

Forgive me if this has already been covered as I am unable to find if it has been resolved. My issue is that when I go to a location (anywhere in the world) the system goes to the location time (or thereabouts) which is fine. I then change the location time and P3d goes through re-loading terrain etc and shows the changed time which again is fine. What then happens is after a few minutes or sometime seconds the system reloads the locations actual time. I have made sure that the linking of time in FSUIPC5 is unticked and I have tried every configuration with the available settings. I have even made sure my settings are inentical to a colleagues and he does not have the pro…

HI guys, I'm considering doing a complete clean reinstall of 4.1 to try and troubleshoot some texture and CPU usage (first core 100% no matter what scenery settings used) issues I am having. I've spent innumerable hours adding payware airports and add ons (ie active sky, Chaspelane, add on sceneries and traditional sceneries, ENVTEX, Flyinside, tons of AI traffic and flightplans from AIG etc) What is the least painful way to do this? Are there specific essential things I should back up to make reinstall more smooth? Really dreading doing this Any suggestions from the experts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jason

Hi guys; I have transparent textures with all aircrafts (Addons or freewares) except PMDG. Any solution?

This is strange. I'm running P3Dv4, PMDG, ORBX,UT-Live, FSDT, FlightBeam airports, AS, and REX. Without AS an Rex running, UT-Live at virtually 0, Dynamic lightning off, MSAA 8, autogen and vehicles, etc., on lowest settings, everything else mostly low settings; I get about 20-30FPS starting out, climbs higher in cruise, drops to single digits-teens on approach, then after landing jumps back up to where I started. For the life of me I can't figure out what's going on. I understand the initial loading of high density scenery, etc., and I've tried adjusting everything I can. Anyone else experiencing this? Hi. I have an Oculus Rift and Steam VR installed. I am having issues with P3D not displaying on my monitors when launched. It has launched as it shows in Task Manager and Chaseplane connects. Steam VR is launching with it though and I assume this is where the display in being routed even though I have unplugged my Rift. I have unchecked all the boxes in Steam VR not to start with apps but it keeps starting. Any ideas would be appreciated. This maybe nothing to do with Steam VR but it would appear logical. I have tried deleting my P3D config and fxml and wx files. All to no avail. Thanks.

Hello: I just started getting this error message when I start p3d v4.1 I never got it before no matter how many background programs I had running. I have 16 gig system memory and a 6 gig video card. It seems to be related to the prepar3d.cfg file. If I delete it, then I can start in default settings. I can then add settings, or load a profile and run fine. I also checked system memory when it displays the error message and always have 8-12 gig available. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. A reboot helps by the way, but the main fix is starting with a clean .cfg file. I also have no tweaks or manual changes in the file ever. -stampee

I had installed v4.1 with the installer from the lockheed website a month ago, and it said everything went well. However, as the latest help desk issue I filed helped me figure out, FSUIPC, ACARS says I am still using v4.0, NOT v4.1. Going into my files, I checked the version of the .exe, and it says v4.0 as well. SOO, it seems it did not install correctly. Further more, on my program list in my control panel, it states it is installed on the C: drive, when in fact all my P3D software, and related software, is installed on the D: drive. When I tried to re-run the installer for 4.1, it says that it is already installed and there is no need to reinstall unless I want…

Hi folks I wonder if any P3D user has a 3 screen very wide angle setup which needs three scenery windows to be established in order to combat the horrible fisheye effect at the sides. I have a curved screen with 3 projectors and a 210 degree FOV. I am getting my local PC system builders to build me the fastest PC I believe I can specify at present as using 3 windows reduces performance overall by some 80-100% At busy detailed airports I get 18-25 fps and some stutters whereas, before, with a single window, it was never below 30 and usually hitting well over 40 in similar circumstances. So after not spending a cent on CS products in a number of years I decided to give them another chance. I know its still early access so it has teething problems. I actually like this product however I did run into a FMC problem tonight. I was flying from KMEM to KIAD. The flight progressed as expected until I was about 150nm out from KIAD. I went to program the STAR and approach but when I clicked EXEC my entire route was deleted. Then when I clicked on DEP ARR to re-enter the approach details the arrival airport had changed from KIAD to KMEM. So KMEM was now to …

Hi, I have had a major issue with FPS fluctuations ranging from 5-55 and tried everything I could think of. I think I need to reinstall everything, can someone please guise in the best way to reinstall P3D v4. Is there a program which cleanly deletes all of P3D or do I even have to do that? I hate to have to go through reinstalling all of PMDG, ORBX etc. Thanks for all your help. Best
