Hey guys: Is there any way uninstall reshade? I have something going wrong in reshade which cause my P3D crash, maybe.... I would like to uninstall the reshade to see if that works. Thanks

Recently reinstalled P3Dv4.1 with FTX Global/Vector and several FTX Regions among them PNW and NCA. However I noticed that square darker water textures seem to bleed through in large bodies of water. I tried using REX HD Direct and ENVTEX water textures to cover this up. Alas no joy! Initially I thought it might be a tile morphing issue so I deleted my terrain cfg and went through the prescribed steps with both the simulator and FTX Central and Vector. Again no joy! Not sure what is causing this. Scenery library is in the correct order for both FTX and Vector. Any help appreciated! Thanks!

Hi all, So I downloaded and installed URP 1.1. I had previously been using PTA but really liked what I saw from screenshots and videos of URP so decided to try it out. I didn't want to install ReShade with it as I use PTA, and also didn't install any of the other options as SkyForce and Envtex/ASCA handle those for me. My question is can I still use PTA with URP installed? What will happen if I change the PTA preset? And are there any PTA presets out there using URP as well? The new URP installer does not come with PTA presets as the installation tutorial video says, or maybe I haven't found it I don't know. Any help would be much appreciated. Che…

I want to know some more details about "Texture resolution" setting in the "Terrain" section of P3D options. This setting is given in centimetres. So what does it mean if I will set this to e.g. 30 cm? What is the scale factor for that? In other words - let's assume that my 737 PFD has 15 cm of width. Is that mean that if I supposedly "take" my PFD and put it on a ground my textures will be as big as two PFDs (2x 15 cm = 30 cm) ? I don't know what scale I should use to understand that. Could you please clarify?

Hello, I couldn't resist getting two more cores and I have decided to switch from i7-6700K to i7-8700K. I have made few benchmarks monitoring FPS rate through SimConnect (using my own tool). My specs: before: i7-6700K @ 4.7 GHz, MSI Z170A Tomahawk after: i7-8700K @ 5 GHz, Asus TUF Z370 Pro Gaming 16GB RAM, Gigabyte GTX 1080 WF3, 512 GB SSD + 2TB HDD As you can notice, the i7-8700K clock was running at slightly faster speed (+6%). I have a problem with applying PTAbsolute preset with PTA. I have an errors shown on the screenshot : Currently I have ASP4, ASCA and ENVTEX installed. Other presets, which I have work correctly. Another thing is that I have disabled an options for PTA in my ENVTEX: I can't switch this to "On" Any ideas?

When doing a manual landing my autothrottle does go to idle as other a/c do. Is this normal?

Hello, I had a series of crashes at KMEM this morning, always while panning around the external view. After this happened twice, i suspected an AI model was causing the issue so i turned off all AI and was able to takeoff without issue so that would seem to confirm a non-compatible AI model. This is in p3dv4, i'm using a mishmash of free AI. a few questions: - are there any tools out there to help identify outdated models or otherwise what model is causing the crash? - are there any commonly used models known to cause this issue? - is v4 more sensitive to this than v3? Hi All, I am embarking on a new PC build on and switching to P3D v4. I have been loyal to FSX all this time, my current specs are in my signature. My build will be i7-7700k, OC to as close to 5GHz as possible on AIO water. Will be reusing my Kraken X61. MB ASUS ROG Maximus Hero IX. Memory 16 GB G Skill 3600, 2x8GB. Should I use my existing Sata3 SSD' s 60 GB each or go for NVMe M.2 Samsung Evo 960? Maybe 120GB. Do I need to keep OS and P3D on separate drives or can they be on the same drive ?.Which is better performance wise?. I will be using Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. I very rarely have had a CTD on my system but since installing the 757 I've had several. Always during a flight in the 757 but not on all flights in the 757. Pure CTD with no error message and nothing in the event viewer. I tried monitoring memory and temps and nothing unusual. I've seen reports of others having CTD's so I expect it will be addressed in a future update. Other than this annoyance, when it works, it is a beautiful a/c to fly. Vic

There have been many articles regarding issues with p3d not starting properly and most seem to be related to xml and dll files. My PC developed and issue some days ago without my having altered anything in P3d to my knowledge, however, there have been a couple of updates to my Windows 10 operating system recently. When I try to load P3D now it hangs but by doing a "warm" reboot I can access P3D v4.2 which then works perfectly. All my add on's and aircraft can be accessed and flown normally.)PMDG 777 PMDG 737NG FS Labs A320. Can anyone suggest what may be wrong with the P3D exe file? or is there some other reason for the odd behaviour. I am not very computer literate …

Pilots, I've just bought ActiveSky for Prepar 3D v4. Are there any non-default options worth to set? There are a lot of settings here and I'm wondering whether I should leave them by default? I fly mostly on PMDG 737, 747 and 777. Do weather radar on my PFD will work correctly by default?

Been feeling blue and unwell lately. I've also been getting really bored with P3D, so I made a decision yesterday to cheer myself up a little, and inject some new life into the sim. Right now, I'm not sure who to fear the most; my bank manager or my wife;-) Mmmmmm.... My wife's a lot closer:-) So I spent a small fortune on addons today. Currently running P3D v4 with PTA and Reshade. Not being an expert in matters relating to this subject would like to know if the visual effects of PTA + Reshade can be accomplished by PTA only, and if reshade can affect frame rates in a big way. Using 3rd Party sceneries like UK2000 and the like with a PMDG aircraft my fps are in the region between 20 & 25 fps. Would appreciate some feedback before I try and mess around with the current set-up. Thanks

On an IFR flight today, ATC kept handing me off to other control, back and forth, every now and then. I would be passed from control "A" to control, "B" then control "B" would shuffle me back to control "A". A minute, or less, later, control "A" would again hand me off to control "B"...and so on. The frequencies didn't change for each control station so. It appears that the ATC routine in Prepar3d uses very rigid demarcations of where one control station ends and another begins so, if you are flying a route that sort of follows those borders a bit, some confusion over just who should be providing control happens. Good Morning Guys, So after 8 years of having my Alienware Aurora, I gave in and bought an ibuypower desktop. https://www.frys.com/product/9063577?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG However, I am now reinstalling P3d V4, Activesky, REX, Orbx, etc. and I have already ran out of disk space. It is all on my C: drive. I don't remember having this issue with my Alienware, but should I uninstall and then reinstall everything on my D: drive? That has 934MB available compared to 111MB on my :C

I am just curious if anyone is using the FSLA320, PMDG or any other tubeliner in VR. If so, what is your experience like visually and piloting. I have never done VR so I have no basis but How I fly seems it would be a little difficult to communicate with ATC, write down instructions and obviously see anything in the non VR scenario (coffee, mouse, controls, etc.). I am just curious how others flying this plane use it if any use it at all. I'd love to try it out but I don't think that would be an option without buying a bunch of gear. I'm sure things will improve in the future but I wanted to see what people are experiencing now.

I would like to ask you for your help again. When I doubleclick on the P3 icon nothing happens, it just does not open. I did a repair from Prepar3d but it did not make any difference. I installed Air Manager but had no major problems with it. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks Bernd

Back in the FS2004 days there was a sound environment app which, when in external view, played wind sounds (cue the jokes), but also bird sounds and sounds of aircraft flying overhead. It made the sound environment hugely immersive It would be really great if someone could come up with a plugin that played wind background sounds based on the relative wind strength while you were doing a walk-around or just in any external view. But an app needs to be smart enough to know whether you were at a large airport or a small airfield, so as to generate the correct sound sets.
