Hi Guys, Im reinstalling everything from scratch, now that Prepar3d version 4.2 is out, I would like to know whats would be the best option, Keep Windows 7 Professional or Move to Windows 10, now I guess not of all addons are Windows 10 Compatible right? Thanks in Advance!

There are 3 nice additions to P3D fleet, all rotaries... Are their FDM the same as default MSFS or have they been updated to some kind of proprietary heli FDM by LM / Sykorsky ?

Hi everyone, Since a shortwhile I expierence that my sound is lost from P3D v4 when I touch the pc case and wich eventually result in a crash (ntdll.dll). I tested it with other programs (like iTunes) but there is everything working fine. It's just with P3D. I tried both of my audio plugins. Can you help me out? Thank you in advance! Jeffrey Jacobs

Hi all, Just reinstalled P3D etc, etc. Probably an embarrassing query, but how do I check that ORBX scenery (Base, Open LC Europe, VECTOR and HD Trees) is the actual live scenery in use in P3Dv4.1? The obvious answer to my own question is to open P3D and look, however, I get the impression that only the HD trees are loaded. I do not believe that the rest is and I want to be sure, because if it is, something isn't right! I've had far better scenery before and most of my settings are high/ultra. Thanks! Max.

Im new to P3D. I saw all the steps for major version updates. Is there anything to be done for minor updates other then wait for 3rd party updates. I read the guide for major version updates but wasnt sure if anything had to be done like deleting shader file or deleting P3D.cfg file?

Hi all; Recently I've been flying in Japan in P3D v4. When I load into RJTT I see rapidly flashing textures on the screen. This ONLY happens in RJTT. If it's during the day the flashes remain until I leave the area. If it's night at RJTT, I will load in and the flashes are black. Also at night if I move the camera beyond a certain point I will get a menu.dll CTD using Technobrain's payware. Default RJTT will run day or night but the flashes are omnipresent. Having loaded up the default flight all was okay. Upon closing P3D and restarting it with the PMDG 747 at FlightBeams KSFO, the sim will just shut down. It doesn't happen at KSFO, it happens at several other airfields as well. The issue is, that nothing shows up in Event Viewer, okay I did get KERNAL Base errors to begin with, but I have since fixed those issues - however the ongoing issue is being unable to load up the PMDG 747. The 777 works perfectly fine. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the 747 without any fix. I am scratching my head...

I need help with several things. I'm working to optimize a dedicated Flight Training simulator PC. The flight sim is running very well in general. Im running Prepar3D v4, bare bones with native aircraft and scenery files etc.... maximum graphics settings except autopen draw distance, water detail, special effects at medium. As of yet I have not purchased ad-on scenery, weather or non native aircraft. I'd like to get the system properly set up and configured so I can begin to integrate some of these ad-ons. Hi I'm trying to find out if mesh setting to 1cm will have an impact to the FPS. I have moved my setting from 5cm to 2cm due to using the FS global next 2018. Now I want to move to 1cm, will anyone tried to see a difference in the frame rate. What is the best mesh setting you recommend.

Looks like we need to wait for 3rd party devs to update their scenery before we see any of the promised performance improvements for dynamic lighting. In his FSLA320/P3Dv4.2 stream today, blackbox711 briefly spoke about the now LOD-based dynamic lighting system. It seems that DL LOD's will only be used if the scenery contains certain markers/objects defining those LOD areas. If no LOD helpers are present it will show all dynamic lights as with pre-v4.2. This would explain why most didn't notice any DL performance improvements in v4.2 Can any scenery dev confirm this? P3D 4.2, all other aircraft have fine engine sound, but no sound at all from the new CH-53, anyone have this issue ?

Is there a control available for GA so the gear auto-extend at say 500ft and retract at say 700 feet? Also is this feature available in P3D anywhere? Thanks bs

Hi All, I have a situation when I am on short final about 50-100ft from touching down at UK2000 Gatwick where I get a massive lag spike and the whole landing proceedure is screwed and i usually get crappy landing rates at Gatwick because of it. But I noticed today that when coming in, same thing happened as always at Gatwick, but I did a go around and on the second run there was no problem at all. I guess its because I might just be at an unlucky spot over the threshold of Gatwick 26L where the sim loads all the heathrow scenery in at just the wrong moment. But it does this consistently. Hi all, I would like to ask if anybody is aware whether the Prepar3D v4.2 content update can create any kind of problems to add-ons. According to Poppet at Prepar3D (https://prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=120861) the content update "will possible overwrite files like effects, Simobjects, sounds and textures that have been Modified by 3rd Party Software (Add On's) " I have many payware add-on aircrafts, sceneries as long as utilities like FSFX Packages, GSX etc... Is anyone aware if any of these can be affected? : )

Just updated to 4.2, fresh install, flying the PMDG 777 with the latest version of FSUIPC and having massive stutters. Does anyone know what is potentially causing this?

Hello, I'm about to configure P3Dv4. While flying, I change settings and see if the changes do not hit the performance too much. The following scenario. I'm flying with the Carrenado Baron 58 a GPS course with the autopilot turned on (AP, NAV, ALT), Garmin GNS 430 switched to GPS. Everything works perfectly. However, during the flight, I go to the OPTION menu of P3Dv4, e.g. to change something on the graphics settings, then go back into the cockpit, the autopilot turns off at irregular intervals. Namely, AP, NAV and ALT are disabled. Also, the GPS mode turns off in the GNS 430. So I have to press 4 buttons each time to make the autopilot functional again. The same happe…

Hi! Can anyone help me? I have been bothered and struggling with this issue for a period of time. All of a sudden, all add-ons of P3D v4.1 stopped working, including FSUIPC, GSX, Chaseplane, and all other add-ons, etc. No matter which aircraft I load, default or Custom aircraft, after I start the flight, I would find that all the programs in the Add-ons tab. stopped working, including those not listed in the tab, like Chaseplane. What can I do? Thanks! I haven't installed any add-ons before this happened. It happened all of a sudden. My system: Windows 10 pro. 64 bit, 16GB RAM, 500GB SSD

I have been working on getting a few Alabeo and Carenado aircraft installed using the Add on xml method. Everything works fine but I am missing the switch click sounds in the vc. I am using the P3Dv4 installers and all works perfectly if installed directly into P3D. However the xml add on method loses the click sounds for the switches. I have read that this is sometimes a problem but have yet to discover/understand a solution. Anyone here been able to get this to work who could offer some direction. Thanks, Jesse P.S. After having uninstalled v4.1's client, content and scenery I installed the equivalents for P3D version 4.2. The install was successfully, but after I fired up P3Dv4.2 the simulator kept looping in loading terrain data and could not be interrupted. Any hints to what might be causing this and/or how to resolve this issue? Thanks Hans
