Hello all, as I prepared a fresh install of P3D v4.2, I went through the fun of the uninstall of the previous version. Program files, appdata/local, appdata/roaming, program data, my documents etc. Then I asked myself, why? Why do all these installs have to span these seemingly dozens of folders; why can't all this stuff install under one nice, clean folder? I am no developer and this is nowhere near being a rant, just trying to understand the logic.

I cracked up at this. I was zooming around to find another camera angle and I ended up on the flight deck of the PMDG 747-400 and the FO looks like me. The little, baby alligator arms don't look like my long arms, but this guy has a resemblance to my pilot passport photo. I had a good laugh. If you have not gone on the flight deck to watch these guys in action for a couple of minutes, watch them move their heads, wipe their foreheads, and point to the overhead, it is pretty entertaining, or I am easily entertained.

I did a fligt from KLAS to KIAH, with the 777. When I was on approach for ILS RWY 08R, I click LOC, then APP when it captured VOR/LOC. But, it says in yellow, NO AUTOLAND. I entered the ILS FREQ and CRS in the FMC correctly. The overhead was fine with no yellow lights. One thing to note is that I was going at about 216 Knots about 700 feet above the ground. Was that the problem?

Seems there are issues after issues. Now, both 3rd party aircraft and default aircraft don't have right rudder. Really no clues why only right rudder which assigned to num pad key "Enter". The key is fine when typing in MS Words. I reset all the the controls to default but still no right rudder. Anyone experience this as well.

Hello peeps :) I have a fairly decent pc, but i would like to take some strain of it. I wondered if there was a way i could remotely run all my addons from another pc. here are my addons: FSWX AVLIASOFT EFB FSREALTIME I do have fsuipc installed by the way.I hope someone can help, please show me da wae :)

Installed v4.2 and all is working okay with the exception of waiting for the FSUIPC update. Also, the PMDG 747 has to be loaded AFTER loading a default aircraft but that's been explained and awaiting a solution. The problem is that P3D v4.2 will not shut down correctly. I'm getting error messages and having to use Task Manager two or three times to get the program completely cleared. This is something new. Any ideas what's making this happen? Any remedy? Thanks.

I am running Windows Home Premium 64bit now. Is it worth upgrading to Windows 10? What would I gain in performance?

Hi everyone. I am enjoying a successful update from 4.1 to 4.2....but ONLY with the CLIENT upgrade. When I go to Control Panel and try to delete the CONTENT or the SCENERY from 4.1, I get a message that "The specified account already exists", and the uninstall aborts at that point. I WANT to install the new Content and Scenery, but this glitch won't allow it. What am I doing wrong, and how can I do a proper uninstall of these 2 areas and clear the way for the new segments? Hello all, I was suffering from Crash to Desktops prior to V4.1 being released after installing new scenery, basically P3D would crash on loading a new scenario. From following some threads on the Prepar3D Support Forum it transpired to be due to the AddOn XML document. The work around suggested on the forum was to de activate the Add On XML document and add the scenery manually to the Scenery Library. This is what I did and managed to get P3D working again prior to the release of V4.1. The issue was to be rectified in the release of V4.1 according to Lockheed Martin on their Support Forum. I see a lot of threads on the new version. I am going to need this for when FSL releases their fix. I was wondering if there is a step by step guide for installing 4.2 so I don't lose any of my scenery, AS, ORBX, etc. without having to do a complete refresh. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Good day all. Recently I did W10 reinstall for whatever reason and I brought my PC to a factory state, so I started from the beginning. I installed P3D 4.1 and all other addons one by one. Everything was fine. I then updated to v4.2 and it looks to me something is off now. No problem with upgrading to 4.2, no error messages. However the sim behaves weird. I am thinking to do full clean reinstall again. So I know how to reinstall P3D (based on tutorials here) but I am wondering what am I supposed to do with all my addon programs and files? I have many addons installed in separate drive like AS16, ASCA, PTA, UTlive, vPilot, etc. Do I have to uninstall and/or remove all…

Hi, just made the switch from FSX-SE to P3D v4 and overall very impressed. Have some stutter issues that I am working on but feels a much smoother more realistic training tool. I did a dawn flight for first time in P3D and noticed that as I looked around from dead ahead to left for example, the sunlight changes abruptly as it flicks off/flicks on depending on what angle the view is at. I am talking about the golden sunlight cast on the engine cowling, cockpit combing and the ground. I am using PTA, ASCA, ENVTEX, and Chaseplane with TrackIR. I cannot find much about this issue so any help would be much appreciated.

Greetings all, Yesterday I purchased, downloaded and installed Prepar3Dv4.2 (This is the first time I've used P3D). I have not added on anything as of yet. When I load a default aircraft (Bonanza, for example), I am getting a stutter about every 1 - 2 seconds. Pretty much makes the sim unusable for me. I have purchased the Process Lasso CPU manager software as I saw it recommended in a couple of threads https://bitsum.com/, but that did not fix the problem. Just had quite a laugh in my sim.... I was crossing the French coast at FL280 in the FSLabs A320. I had my head down in the FMGC, looking to program the approach, when I suddenly hear lots of 'popping' and 'pinging' sounds. Sounded like an engine maybe flaming out, but I knew I hadn't set any failures, so couldn't be that. Looked up out the windows, only to see I was totally surrounded by anti-aircraft 'FLAK' going off all around me! At FL280! God only knows how the poor passengers felt!!!! Updated to 4.2 Now the options in ATC show, but are greyed .. ? What am I doing wrong. Using FSUIPC and FSTramp addon, when disabled, still same problem. Hi I just purchased LEBB Bilbao from ORBX and having problem with elevation. All aircrafts loaded or AI are under the ground ( runaways or parking). Tried every possible solution from ORBX forums ( as other had same problems) but in vain, I contacted ORBX support but was disappointed by their swift reply saying " this is not their product error but my sim and would not give me a refund)". I have ORBX KSAN and other payware airports with no problem so I don't think it is my Sim as suggested by ORBX. If price were not an issue, what would the ultimate consumer level machine be? i7-8700k? i9? I've got a pretty strong i7-6700k machine but always like to upgrade (partial or full) every 18 months or so. Put the PMDG 747 at FlyTampa AMS at ultra settings at dusk or night with some weather and I see under 10FPS. Fellow Flight Simmers Recently I developed a problem with my GTN 750 application across all my aircraft. I run a second monitor so I can open my GTN 750, undock it, and move it to that monitor so it doesn't block any of my VC and it's much easy to observe and modify. I find this very useful and have coupled it with custom view window mods in my config file so I can toggle it on and off instead of default maps. Recently when I would undock (without even moving it) my GTN 750 my frames would drop from a steady 30 fps to 15 fps and return to 30 fps when I would "re-dock" it and this new behavior was across all my aircraft I had assigned the GTN 750. Hi all, Can anybody tell me if there is a way to remove the displayed Green/White banner line with the ATIS messages in it which appears when one listens to the Tower ATIS message . What with the message in text in the ATC window and the voice I don't need the same info again across the top of my screen. In fact I don't se the need for any of these distracting one line displays except perhaps for anything from GSX.

Can anyone recommend a good AI management tool, specifically to remove unused/unwanted AI textures and .cfg entries easily. I have historically used The Owl's Nest AI Editor, but this doesn't seem to be working well for me anymore. I'm not concerned about AI flight plans - I only need to manage the aircraft textures for VATSIM. Thanks

The pics look pretty good and I’m very happy to see someone tackling other than Bravo’s - the Regionals need love too... Hi, if I wanted to keep all the addons already installed on 4.1, is it possible to update the sim only? If so, do you only need to uninstall the 4.1 client from Windows and run and install the 4.2 client? So there should be no problems/conflicts with the addons already installed, right? Updating the client only should work as such and as it is currently (except for any incompatibilities of addons that may not yet be fully compatible with 4.2). For example, with the texture of ORBX, running only the client update should not create texture problems, right? From what I understand I understand the client only updates the various fixes listed, neither more nor less. I…
