I'm moving from an old CH products yolk to the honeycomb Alpha. I have MOST of my PMGD, Qualitysim And areosoft Airbus Keypresses programmed through FSUIPC for the CH yolk and TQ.; I'm accustomed to it and I like it. Just got my Alpha yesterday and wonder... is it better to program through FSUIPC or the Honeycomb configurator? Dear: The sound of my P3D v5.1 becomes very low when ATC window is open. After closing the ATC window, it takes quite a while for the sound to return to normal level. I use Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 graphics unit. I rolled back to an older version of the graphics driver to keep P3D v5 up and running as suggested from P3D Forums. I also use Dreamteam GS X Level 2 and Activesky ASP3D. Please help. Regards, Haseen Ahmad.

Hi, I have noticed at a few airports I have used in P3D v5.1 there are 2 PAPI lights instead of 4 (Bangkok VTBS and some runways at Chicago KORD for example). Some airports / runways have no PAPI lights at all (some runways at Chicago KORD and both runways at Geneva LSGG for example). These issues were something I noticed in P3D v5, and they are also the same in 5.1 after a complete uninstall of v5, and a clean install of 5.1. Also at Tokyo RJTT there is no ILS appearing in the planes, although there should be according to Navigraph. Probably I have flown to or from about 60 airports in P3D v5, so it looks like maybe 5% or so of airports have such issu…

This may be a bit of an unusual question. I am wondering how flight schools, universities, the air force, etc. are actually using P3D. What kind of PCs do they run the software on? How does a training session look like (in terms of learning objectives, instructions and the like)? What kind of graphical settings are important to them? These are just a few sample questions of course. I'm interested in anything related to the topic. I am wondering if they also have addon aircraft/sceneries/tools we have no idea they even exist. I have for a long time had some hardware from CPFlight, and I have been very satisfied. But lately it has been a problem with fps when i undoc the CPU screen and move it from the main screen to the CPU screen. Then the fps in the sim dropp from + 30 to 8-12. I mailed CP flight, but they said no others had reported this, and they don’t think it has to do with their drivers. Has anyone experienced the same, and is there a solution? Tor Arild

I am thinking of staying with v4.5 of P3D and downgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 7 64-bit. Since my current flight sim set-up is working fine, I don't mind if I never upgrade P3D and its add-ons in this PC again. I'm also tired of running Microsoft's never ending anti-virus and upgrading wheel. My mantra for this PC: I am curious to see what your experience has been like using P3D with Windows 7 and add-ons from developers like Orbx, Milviz, Flysimware, Carenado, etc. I have no interest in airliners (eg. PMDG or FSLabs). Thank you.

Hi, I am getting this one CTD upon loading the airport in eventviewer in P3dv5.1 and i recall i had this also a year ago or so but all the sudden its back. Anyone recall the issue or what we did ? Thanks Michael Moe

Well I purchased the manual yesterday - used their recommended settings for VFR and IFR - I have seen a significant improvement in both load times and VRAM available - PMDG 777 over London at less than a 1000 feet was flawless. My kit is an I7, 32MB RAM and a NVidia 1080 Back to flying

I was hoping for an improved VR experience but to this point (knowing it's only day 2), I'm struggling with some of the same issues others seem to be experiencing. I am achieving higher FPS but can't seem to find the correct settings that allow for an improvement over v4.5. Very jittery through left lens for some reason, not a comfortable experience. Anyone else experiencing similar issues? If satisfied with v5 VR, I would appreciate any information on settings you are using. My specs: i7-7700 4.5 Ghz, running P3Dv5 on 1 GB M.2 SSD, 32 GB Ram, RTX 2080Ti

FYI, I have just seen that an updated version of FACT from FSDG has been released and is supported in both v4 and v5. It looks pretty decent based on the initial screenshots.I will probably get this since I dont own any African content sceneries. Hello - Today I attempted to take a flight in the Q400 in P3dv5, and I am having some major issues. First, I uninstalled and reinstalled, but still no success. I am wondering if v5.1 broke something. For starters, when I load the plane, FMS #1 and #2 start up by themselves, and at the same time FMS #2 gets stuck in allign mode and I can’t do anything. At this point, I can not continue to get the plane setup for flight. Then, the last two times I loaded the plane I has a CTD. Something is definitely wrong, but I have no idea how to fix it. Hello all, hopefully, someone can explain what I'm doing wrong. Shortly after departing CYYZ, I encountered a severe thunderstorm and the AP kept disconnecting (not a big deal, even though I have set AS16 to FSL's recommended turbulence/clouds settings). Anyhow, once clear of the storm, I re-engaged the AP and try as I might, I could not get the speed to enter Managed mode. Heading was managed but the speed kept indicating Selected. Cruise and descent were the same - managed would not work. I tried finding issues such as this but could only seemingly find approach issues and not in climb/cruise. Any ideas? After some frustrations, I managed to get the Flight 1 GTN750 integrated into the Orbx Lancair, with great results. Everything is fully functional and the GTN750 integrates perfectly with the Sandel HSI too. It really brings a new lease of life to the Lancair IV. As you can see in the pic, this mod is currently using the default King radios, for Com2 and Nav2. I chose these purely because they are default radios so everyone with FSX has them. If you are confident with editing Panel.cfg files, you can replace these with a better looking option for your Com2 and Nav2 radios. Be warned though; do not open the Orbx Lancair in FS Panel Studio; it will corrupt…

Working on the existing Gatwick by UK2000 with SODE however it dawned on me while improvements and alignments that trying many of the jetways are all positioned outside their hatched areas so i really want to try and fix this so theyre more accurate when 'resting'. I have downloaded SODEPlacer and read the tutorial however i think if im working on the ADE/XML that came with the scenery to further enhance it i should be looking at the section further down labled as Workflow for existing, manually created projects? Spoiled by MSFS graphics during daylight, I've started to use P3D (5.1.HF1) only during night time. I'm flying mainly PMDG a/c between HQ add-on airports, so I created a P3D graphic profile "Night Mode" but I'm still struggling with the optimal settings. Off course I've disabled cloud shadows and reflections, but performance is still critical at some airports. Another question, Enhanced Atmospherics On or Off - I'm still undecided in this one. It also seems that EA ON is not consistent in its appearance. Sometime my a/c and the terrain looks great, at other situations my a/c appears in St. Elmos fire and water reflections are insane.
