Is anyone running P3d 4 or 5 well on an HDD or is an SSD practically necessary for smooth performance? I don't mind a couple minutes of loading time as long as running performance is acceptable. Just gathering Intel before buying. Thanks

Some days ago I found their website https://simworksstudios.com/ is no longer reachable. Seems they are gone. I have their F-4, T-37 and some Navy ship packages. They worked well in P3D4 but it seems not in P3D5. I tested the PBR Phantom, which should be compatible, today. Somehow it´s not stable to fly at lower speeds. It rolls and stalls during approach, just uncontrollable. The T-37 was never usable in v5 unfortunately. I fear, they will never port it to v5 now, sad.

Hello, Since I cannot find any of their support forums, I'd like to ask for an opinion of those who own the product already whether it's CTD-free or not.I own both 737 and 747, and have zero issues. Hope that the T7 is reliable in the same manner Thanks

Hi Team, I recently got rid of my RTX2080TI due to the Hung Errors I was getting. I just purchased the Radeon 6700XT Unlike NVIDIA the the 6700 does not read P3D. I cannot target settings towards the sim. Can anyone using Radeon graphics card advise some tips? Thank you.

Hi, I'm going to buy Oculus Quest 2 for P3D v4.5HF3 VR flying (had an opportunity to test it for a while and I liked it) and have 1 quick question: - does Tomatoshade (or other tools, eg. PTA, however I use TS+R&D preset) change visuals in VR? I'm curious if there's any visual difference in VR mode between default shaders and those changed by Tomatoshade, so maybe it's useless using shader tools for VR flying. Cheers.

The Majestic Q400 dash 8 is a masterpiece, of that there is no doubt, however trying to land the thing is something else. I approach at 120 knots with full flaps and it rises above GS so I use some flap relief to 15 and it still struggles. Flaps 10 seems to work best but it tries to race and while it is exciting to fly in Prepar3D it must be terrifying in the RW. Looking at the manual and the various "heads-up" to pilots you wonder if they should have gone back to the drawing board. Warnings like best to "fly it on to the runway" as plopping it down will send horrendous vibrations throughout the cabin. There are so many it might have occurred to them to start again. Are …

I only noticed this in P3Dv4 recently, but the issue became very apparent to me after i had tried a flight in the FSLabs earlier this year to find my framerate absolutely nosedived the seconds i went above 3 knots on the ground, so any normal taxiing speed. But, coming to a standstill, the framerates returned to normal (Standstill = 20-25 fps in VC, taxiing = 10-15 best case scenario) What confused me was when the fps got better as soon as i was in the air, and then it was back to word not allowed the second i touched down 2 hours later. Hi everyone. I have a question about my issue. I have stock P3D V5.1 with no any presets or etc. Just scenery, plane, chase plane, active sky, ORBX Global. How can I fix this? I see buildings through the clouds. Here is screenshots below:

When you push the wheel forward are you trimming to make the elevator trim go down or up. Am trying to set a button on my joystick for trim. Thanks.

Wonder if anyone has any thoughts on this scenario. I have a Nvidia 1080 card, and when the new FSLabs sharklets arrived this week, I loaded the A320 at EGPH gate 12 into P3D V5.1. The vram indicator (using shift Z) suggested that I was using 6.0 of the available 6.8 - so right at the edge. Then, I got a message saying that I did not have enough vram, and did I want to ignore, close or try again. I tried again, and when it opened up my vram indicator showed usage of 3.9 of the now available 7.1. My graphic settings are medium, and I did not knowingly change anything - so any thoughts as to where all this extra vram came from?

I currently use Ultimate Terrain/GEX with my FSX-SE installation. In the plus side I like what Ultimate Terrain did for the geography. My mountains and ridges here in Pennsylvania loo spot on to there real life elevations and contours. But I want to move to Prepar3d and I was considering using an Orbx combination with it. I am considering Global Vector and North America LC Do I get terrain improvements with any of that or just textures and lines? Do any of the Orbx products improve terrain resolution? Can anyone give me a fair comparison between F1 Ultimate Terrain and Orbx? Thanks

After updating to v4.3 I happen to be performing an update to my nVidia GTX 1080 driver when I noticed p3d still running in the background. After completion I shut the sim down and relaunched... there is no aircraft rendered in the startup screen and after selections are made and the sim loads all I see is black. Sound is there, and I can hear throttle/flap sounds. First thing I did was roll back my video driver. Then I deleted my P3D.cfg, scenery.cfg, and dll.xml files. I also used the shortcut to deleted all generated files. Nothing. I uninstalled P3D and re-installed V 4.2. Still nothing - no change. Next I deleted the following and restarted: …

Hello everyone! Simplest way to put it: After I load a scenario in P3D 4.3, everything I believe is loaded properly, but there is just a black screen. After waiting up to 20 minutes it's still just a black screen with aircraft sounds playing behind it. Complex if that didn't make sense: P3D V4.3 starts up and loads the main menu normally, but in the aircraft selection menu, there is no spinning preview of the aircraft. After choosing a plane and place and start the flight, the loading bar completes and the flight starts like normal. I've decided I wouldn't mind replicating the Iron Maiden Tours, and I remember seeing years ago a document on a flight sim website with the flight legs for the book of souls world tour but I can no longer find it, has anyone got it or know where I can find the routes, I know on wiki etc you can find the tour dates/locations but I mean the airports they used, also if anyone has the same info for the 2 tours using the 757 that would be great, thanks

Hello forum, A new glitch has appeared overnight. Selecting 'Change Vehicle' in the P3D startup screen causes the scenario to load as if I clicked 'OK' to load a flight. Once the default scenario loads, the start up menu is still visible and I can still access the Change Vehicle or Change Airport menus. I have not made any changes or installations, no updates or tampering with files. This was out of the blue. I am running P3D V5.1 (with the latest updates). Troubleshooting Attempts: Deleting all P3D generated files and folders. Closing any other applications running (Steam, Logitech Gaming software, Chrome). Restarting my PC multiple times. Hi there I yesterday purchased the ZSPD Scenery by WFSS for my P3Dv4.5. I found myself in an outstanding scenery but was very surprised, that only a few Jetways have SODE(?). Is that correct or did I something wrong? Kind Regards Patrick

Hello, I'm enjoying Pro ATC X, and had a question for the company regarding whether it is allowed to be used while streaming on Twitch. I have tried emailing them through their website's contact form twice in the past year, and unfortunately did not get a response. Has anyone on here been able to get a response from them, when using that form? Do they only respond if you use the same email as one used for a purchase? Does it help to send the email in German? Hello - I am having an issue with SXAD KBHM where only the default buildings show up. When I look at the add on scenery section in P3dv5, KBHM is grayed out and the box unchecked. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to ungray the box to check it. Also, it seems impossible to uninstall this airport because none of the SXAD airports show up in the add and remove programs. So, I'm about ready to throw in the towel on 5.1. Since it came out I'm lucky if I can go 3 weeks without any issues. Currently I'm into my 3rd month or so, of having sporadic successful flights. Several flights I had to do 5 or more times before I could complete it without a CTD. Now in event viewer, the cause of the CTD keeps changing. If you look at the CTD guide, just about every DLL listed has caused a crash. I've tried so many different things. Back in FEB it was running smooth. Then I updated some AI flight plans with AIG, and ran the FSDT update tool. Since then, its been a struggle. First it appeared to be a QW787 lights issue (even tho I did not have an iss…

Hello all Ive been working through P3Dv5.1 trying different settings within the Sim - attempting to balance performance with visuals and FPS. Not long after installing V5.1 I started to receive the "Hung Device" window and that was according to LM related to Enhance Atmospherics being selected so my problem was fixed by simply turning it off. The Sim has been error free for a couple of months. Lately however when I select "disable VR" I consistently receive the same message- "Hung device" with the narrative about P3D closing etc. I am able to fly for as long as I wish, change aircraft and adjust settings as long as I don't try to disable VR. I have had to flights from LHBP lately, with LHSimulations scenery and VoxATC in P3d v 5.1.The airport is designed for takeoffs at Rw 13L and 31L, but both times I am told to take off from the R runways. Is this a bug in the scenery or in Vox ATC? What can I do to change it? Tor Arild Danielsen
