I was hoping Prepar3D would have moved FSX forward to where it really needed to be to keep up with current hardware, but sadly I can't report that. I certainly am glad someone is still moving the FSX code base forward, but it does appear to be in baby steps. I don't mind spending the $199 to keep the project going (nothing compared to what I've spent in hardware and Add-Ons) -- it's realistically the only folks working on the original code base. "Flight" was interesting but lets be honest, it hasn't really generated much of a following or huge interest - hopefully valuable lessons were learned in that project - as in "there aren't as many casual flyers as we thought" …

Hello everyone, With the new ORBX England installed I get OOM's when approaching an airport. For airports I use the Uk2000 sceneries. Beside of that i always fly a PMDG 737 and my weather is controlled by AS2012. When i'm about 10,000 feet from the ground i will receive a OOM message. I have very good hardware (as described below) so i think that is not the reason. Are there any suggestions to prevent the OOM's so i am capable of flying the PMDG on a UK2000 airport with FTX England without reveiving a OOM? Thanks in advance. My specs: - Intel 3770k @ 3,5 Ghz - Nvidea GTX 670 2 GB videocard - 500 GB satall drive - Asus P8h77v-LE motherboard (with will be replac…

Hello Simmers! I have a problem with the PNW scenery. I have never really noticed it, however I can tell that there is very minimal autogen in the PNW area. Flying around Friday Harbor there are some forested areas with a lot of trees, but everywhere else, including areas where the ground textures show flat trees, has none. My autogen setting is set to very dense. Is it supposed to look that way? If not, any suggestions? Thanks! -abasa12 PS - As well, at NZMF I have really weird elevation problems. I do not have the FTX NZ sceneries. The ocean forms a wall, and the land rises in a spikey cliff, like a really bad glitch. Any help would be awesome.

HI! I just started using the north americian trafffic addon. It worked great for the first few days, but then it stopped working. I went to the control panal to fix it, but when ever I try to activate the traffic I get this message "Could not switch option 'NA General Aviation AI Traffic with Full Call Signs'" I tried re downloading it, reinstalling it, and I even reinstalled. Thank You!

Got my copy today. An "Airliners Special" edition :lazy: ....sorry guys  I know some of you'll be as excited as I wasn't. If and when I ever get interested in bus driving there's no end of info for me here though. Anyway in the middle of al this heavy metal is a review of FTX England. As per usual they lead with an award ("Classic") follow with a review and then a % score. They give it 90 which, with a "Classic" award, seems a tads high for a review full of screengrabs of bits they notice aren't very good or wrong or unrepresenative?! Oldy enough opposite the review there's a FULL page ORBX ad for this very product... Still at least they've…

Hi there, and wishing you a very happy new year of flight simming in "ORBX world" ! B) My question today is this (bear with me) I am still testing South Island to check its beauties, and I have been sampling all season, with this surprise : The NZ summer textures appear very much like our European winter ones (yellow/brown with a generally cold 'earthy' look) while NZ winters textures give an appearance of extremely lush and pleasant green. Is this right ? I am sure ORBX people are right, they must be ! But, for myself, I am starting to have doubts about my geography and I feel I am losing what little knowledge of climatology I thought I possessed. …

I have to troubleshoot an OOM error 5 minutes into flight and I dont feel like reinstalling the whole thing. Ive started uninstalling some scenery to no avail. Restored an original p3d.cfg file that was tweaked and worked great earlier. No difference. I reach 4gb in no time. Some memory leak I suppose. Nothing recently installed. Just got worse after I migrated to an SSD and moved the partition. But that shouldnt cause OOMs. Dont see how it relates. May have to restore my backup but it had OOM issues when I was on approach on any scenery including vanilla airports. Can someone tell me what their Virtual Address Space is on startup of P3d? And if you can monitor …

Hello and Happy New Year! After flying around in the wonderful Orbx region of PNW I decided to try out Orbx England last week. In addition to EU England , I also installed UTX Europe which I felt will compliment the balance of the European region. All my Orbx scenery files are always placed as top priority in the FSX Scenery Library with UTX scenery files below. With FTX Central set to Europe all scenery is displayed to Orbx standard within England and outside of England UTX (along with GEX) take care of the rest. All is good in Europe! However, upon switching back FTX Central to North America, I am surprised to find blurry textures in the PNW area? The regio…

Hi Guys hope you can help. I am trying out Win8, and all my progs work with no problem, but when I installed and ran P3D, everything loads up and I can even hear the sound of the default planes engine, BUT NO DISPALY, except for the taskbar at the bottom of the screen, and a bar at the top saying P3D Academic version, but everything in-between is black. I can press escape and get the "End Flight" box with all the options, and can exit from this, but cant get any other menus because I can't see them. Have installed the latest Nvida drivers for my GTX 580, also tried various compatibility modes in win 8, all with the same result. BTW had no probs in win 7. Any help would be…

Interested in the ORBX areas but want to try the demo first. Wanted to compare the Olympia coverage to other payware I have in the Olympia area. Is there a map of the demo area coverage somewhere? Or will it be obvious when I move from ORBX to megascenery coverage? Megascenery earth is a bit of a disappointment for low and slow flyers... Thanks.

Does anyone know of any terrain awareness system that is compatible with P3D? THe Reality XP is not an option. I downloaded the demo of Airview from FS Widgets and that seems not to be compatible. What about the TAWS or Terrain Map from DBS studios? I enjoy flying at night but it's a little difficult in mountainous areas.

I've just completed a fresh install of windows and P3D.... The plan is to keep things clean and simple. I see no need so far to install GEX, as the P3D textures are pretty good, but I what about UTX? Is it much better than the default P3D landclass etc? Any advice would be helpful... THanks!

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I have had FSX for about 2 months and in that time I have bought 7 different areas from them...yes I was that impressed When I've had a Q or 2 I have always been courteous and to the point. Never insulted anyone Never argued with anyone Never dissparaged their products..in fact the opposite, I have always praised the quality. The 1st 6 installs went without a hitch. Number 7 was problamatical..I bought NRM and had issues with terrain elevation adjustments and asked for advice. A gentleman named Tim tried hard , several suggestions, even sent me replacement files NOTHING worked. In the end I was asked to…

I remember there was a tool for fixing the magnetic variations in FSX that corrected the runway misalignments. Was this done by lockheed? Because I have all kinds of ILS not lineing up. Aircraft capture the Localizer and the glideslope but it only gets the GS correctly. The lateral is off by 10 degrees in some cases. I just flew into KIAD to 19R and it had me on a heading of 180 and refused to line up laterally. I had a look at the airport with Airport design editor, and sure enough thats what the heading is, but its also perfectly aligned with the runway. So this seems to be the whole airport is off. Same kinda thing in KSEA. I read some where there is a…
