  2. I've recently done a re-install of Windows 7 and P3D, everything works well. I installed my BAE 146 from Just Flight, selected the P3D option from the install menu, and when I loaded the plane it was incredibly slow and stuttering, to the point where it's just not possible to fly, also the icon menu that's usually on the bottom left of the screen is missing. All other planes work perfectly fine as before. I e-mailed Just Flight support and two days later got the following reply: "Unfortunately this product is not compatible with P3D, it is only compatible with FSX." I must say I'm quite dissapointed as I got this addon specifically because it was advertised as b…

  3. Last weekend I decided to uninstall P3D and install back FSX Gold. I didn't want to have both installed at the same time, so I preferred to do it that way. Why? 1) Because I found an incompatibility between P3D and CumulusX!, the first incompatibility I ever had between a former FSX add-on and the LM simulator, and I really like CumulusX! and was missing it... 2) Because I kept reading comments about users getting better FPS overall with FSX than P3D, and wanted to check it myself... Well, first of... I came back to P3D running :-) Why? 1) Well, CumulusX! will have to wait for a P3d-compatible version... 2) Yes, under some circumstances I can see hig…

  4. Good Day, Looking for some help from some Prepar3D experts…. Have posted this request for assistance on the Prepar3D, Orbx Prepar3d and Avsim forums in hope that someone may have a solution……. Having major freeze up on all menu screens once they are selected in the simulation…. Installed Prepar3D as instructed, opened it the first time as administrator and the program seemed to open without issue…. First indication of problems was attempting to open menus to make adjustments…. Initially seemed to work OK then started to lockup every time I opened a menu… Only way out was CNTL/ALT/DELETE and exit via the task manager….. At times I can open a few menus make my chang…

  5. Hi, I commented on my throttle issue with this bird elsewhere, as suggested I'm starting a thread. I have 2 brand new Saitek quadrants, I'm not using the Saitek software, but I do use FSUIPC as I have all my aircrafts setup this way with controls disabled in the sim. Following the AS recommended procedure in their forums, it does not work, both levers will not move together and never be in the same mode together ie. CL etc. What am I missing here? alternative methods of doing this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

  6. Confused....why does this happen " not responding "on: May 2, 2013, 09:45 I have been using p3d for a while and I have reinstalled it several times. I have a recurring problem, Every time I go to the menu I get the ( not responding )" message in the tool bar at the top of the page sometimes. the program stalls or waits or seems stuck for a few moments and then the "not responding message" comes up in the top bar. The program just sits there and does nothing. I looked in the task manager and there is no process running that is stalling the program I tried reinstalling, . I have p3d on its own ssd drive and it just makes no sense to…

I understand that AI Carriers2 works in P3D, but I also have read on the aussiex forum that for those who do not use FSX there is a special process to install AI Carriers. Problem is, if there is a special install procedure, I can't find it anywhere! I tried installing on my own, but get an error message that certain ships are missing. Also, I am unable find a way to activate AI Carriers in P3D, so I uninstalled everything. Has anyone, using P3D exclusively, been able to install AI Carriers 2? If so, will you kindly share how you were able to install it? Thanks!! :Big Grin: Todd

  8. If you are thinking of adding a really great chopper to your P3D sim it would be very hard to go past the payware Virtavia Seaking. Virtavia do not certify for P3D but it flies very well and is at least as good an aircraft as the UKMIL Chinook. Cheers, Mac

I used CumulusX! with FSX Gold, and now I am also using the latest version - 1.9 - with LM prepar3d. Although not advertised as compatible, the programs works perfectly and so does de WinchX! module. The only thing we have to do is to disable aircraft labels from the Traffic Tab in Prepar3d because otherwise we will see each cloud generated by CumulusX! with a label :-) Ah! And the birds, introduced with v1.9, aren't visible in Prepar3d, or at least I was unable to see them ...

The four best add-on I ever got for FSX, now Prepar3d: A2A's b377 Captain of the Ship, A2A's P51d Civil, PMDG's b737NGX and Aerosoft's AirbusX Extended. I would like to start by pointing out that I can't really order any of these in terms of preference when I use flight dynamics / systems / graphic quality / smoothness for criteria. They are all Top! Of the four models I confess I have spent the most time so far with the p51d, maybe because it is also my preferred add-on for DCS World and A2A was able to bring it to a level of quality that is certainly impossible to get any better in the ESP-derived platform of MSFS, but the b377 is closely following it, with it's…

  14. Dear All, Is there a way to minimize the "fish eye" effect on a 3 screens nvidia surround set up i.e. the distortion that appaers on the left and right screens ? Despite it being impossible to completely solved it unless when you 3 separate views (which kills the fps unless one use 3 computers), I was hoping for a way to minimize it. Thanks a lot for your ideas. Best

Well, after experiencing this - http://forum.avsim.net/topic/404770-considering-a-move/page-2 I was able to localize the issue. P3D works flawlessly on my system (sorta), but it seems that once I had completed a flight or was simply messing around, I'd hit the escape key. That would cause the sim to crash. Why it did and continues to do this I have no idea whatsoever, however, I can live with using the menu bar to exit, it's not a big deal just rather frustrating. One issue remains though. For the life of me, I can get P3D recognize my slider/throttle on my stick. Any ideas on this aspect?

I downloaded my 3 .zip files during which, my ISP required a top-up before it could finish. I'm following the instructions but I can't get it to install. Just on this, for a minute. I'm not your average computer user. I've been around these thing for a long time. The install process of this program is way too convoluted. There should be a dvd purchase option with its own installer for those of us who don't want to stumble around forums looking for answers. Ok, so I'm expecting the problem to originate with me but LM needs to pay attention, here. Is there and way to re-check checksums after the files have been downloaded? Would an AV program like windows security essen…

I have a question about how to use REX and Simlauncher in P3D: I want to startup REX (latest version) to inject realtime weather at my departing airport/location. It seems that the only way to get real weather to properly load is to specify the airport and press the "fly now" button. However, I prefer to use SimLauncher to specify all other settings, such as my aircraft, starting location/setup and season/time of day. What is the best way to use these two get get (1) real weather and (2) to allow Simlauncher to load all my variables properly? (I realize this question my stem from my own ignorance, so thank you for your patience in advance).

I've kinda had it with FSX as it can be a bit flakey and all. In fact, I'm re-downloading FSX via GFWL yet again following a unfixable scenery issue relating to FTX England. Ugh... I'm primarily concerned with what the Student version entails, if it's basically FSX without all of the RTE headaces and associated issues. I understand a lot of addons currently work, which is of course a primary concern to me as well, and I like to know if there is a site/info that details what is functioning and what isn't. Thirdly, I'd also like to know what are the drawbacks to it, if any that is. Any insight and or opinions on Prepar3d would be greatly appreciated. I'm kinda on th…

Hi there First time posting It seems that at my ORBX airports ( CANBERRA, MELBOURNE, BRISBANE, CAIRNS ) At night there is no taxiline lights! So when I land at YBBN it looks normal but when you try and turn onto the taxiway you can't cause there is no lighting on the taxiways! There runway itself on the runway centre line has lights so I can physically see where I'm going and where the centre line is on the runway but you can't see taxiway centre line lights Does any one no why this is? It's only ORBX scenery that has this problem Jason

I came across this post in another thread here. Doesn't this imply that V1.4 and earlier products as well as FSX products will not be compatible with V2.0 unless they are changed? Does it also imply that V2.0 products will not be compatible with FSX?
