  2. Hi all! Just bought another(!) two ORBX addon airports (Felts and Jefferson County) and have a few issues with both of them: - KSFF (on top of NRM): white bushes (long grass?) beside the runway which stay white throughout the year (season doesn't matter) - 0S9 (on top of PNW): Café/Restaurant missing; people sit at tables which have no legs (talking of the tables, lol!), on a veranda with NO 'Goose' café behind them Chances are, I screwed up the installations. My understanding of installing ORBX scenery so far has been: - install regions from default scenery. That is, when installing further regions, I have to switch scenery in FTX Central to 'default…

  3. Started by jetsmell,

Trying to get into ORBX Forum is like trying to get into Fort Knox. I'm sure the Administrator has his reasons which he feels is acceptable, but come on! I have at least thirty forums in my bookmarks and none of them come close. Make it easy for people who haven't purchased the product so they can get their feet wet. AVSIM was easy getting in and it's one of my favorites. I bought three DVD'S with a support problem and have to stand on my head to get help. Thanks ORBX, I'll post my problem here where I can get the help that I need.

  4. I have been somewhat concerned because of the lack of new screenshots of FTX Global. That was until a few days ago. There are now many new screenshots of the upcoming product that have hit the new screenshots page within the last few days. I am so blow away from what I am seeing. http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/forum/7-preview-screenshots-and-videos/

  6. Last week a Canadian trucker had too high a load and brought down part of the Interstate #5 bridge that crosses the Skagit River just south of Burlington Washington. Orbx has recreated the municipalities of Burlington and Mt. Vernon, as well as all the bridges in a wide area surrounding the Skagit Regional Airport scenery to an uncanny level of fidelity. If you go on Google Earth you will see just how realistic and near exact the ORBX PNW world is to the real one. Although not strictly photoreal the landclass is so well done, that at first glance it is hard to know which is which. The first is FTX, second Google Earth and the last picture is a screenshot of the doo…

For some reason, Prepar3d likes to keep switching on the user aircraft label. Is there a way that this can be forced off? Thanks

I downloaded the ORBX England DVD. When flying there I noticed the scenry is FSX, not ORBX. Any ideas?

Although not strictly Orbx, these three bush strips are designed to slot seamlessly into Orbx' PNW. They are payware but at A$19.99 (about 7/6 real money) they are excellent value. Give them a look HERE. There are links to PC Aviator US and Aus. Disclaimer: I have no connection with the developer other than as a satisfied customer.

  14. Started by jonss1948,

I have done as the Pundits have recommended and stabilized my P3D install, tweaked the graphics, amended the .cfg file and balanced the program. With ORBX Gold, REX 2 weather and graphics, flying over Sydney (YSSY) in the NGX I'm pulling around 17 fps. On approach it drops to around 14 fps. It's the smoothest 14 fps I've ever experienced, though and quite flyable. The assumption I was talking about is this. Even though I have a good graphics card and a 6 Core CPU, the only way I'll achieve higher frame rates is to OC the CPU. Fair assumption? Jon

  18. Once again, Mr. ORBX has let me down again, this time for NOT deleting my account. I'm a bit sick and tired of how they treat their customers, me included, and I'd rather them not know my email address. So I posted in their forum (there was nowhere else to post it) how I wanted my account deleted, and after about a week, still no deleted account, and in fact they deleted that topic without batting an eye. Which brings me to the question: Why can't ORBX even RESPOND to such a simple request? I find it quite rude how I didn't even get a response, instead just ignoring my very, VERY simple request. So how I can I get them to at least respond? You can't conta…

I've installed FTX AU Blue Temperate South as well as their Melbourne airport scenery. The installation was fast and successful. However, the sceneries have not been added to the scenery library in FSX. The sceneries appear to be okay, but do I still have to add the sceneries manually?

  23. Hello, I'm new to this forum, so I apologize if I say something stupid. I was banned from the ORBX forums... well not really banned, but given an "official warning" for "abusive email behavior", then banned, so I've heard this is the place to go. Anyway, about a year ago I bought "ORBX AU blue", and just after it was installed, all airport buildings (and not just the ones in the ORBX region), ALL airport buildings in FSX were were moved into different spots, so I now commonly see AI aircraft partly inside buildings or buildings in the middle of the runway. I decided to try and get help from ORBX, and soon realized that they didn't have technical support, only a forum. And…

I am looking at taking the dive into Prepar3d from FSX, one feature that I cannot find to much information on is Prepar3d's ability to depict weather. What I am talking about is displaying accurate rain/thunderstorms/snow instead of just "turning the rain on around the aircraft". I plan on using REX for my weather engine. Thanks for the info.
