Hello, I've been using the professional version of Prepar3d for a little over two weeks now. So far I've successfully ported over two of my FSX add-on planes: the PMDG 737NGX and the Lotus L-39. I installed the Lotus L-39 into P3D via the regular installer, while I manually copied my PMDG NGX files from my FSX installation. I run P3D in legacy mode (renaming the .exe) to accommodate EZCA and Tileproxy, both of which work fine in Prepar3d. Both the NGX and L-39 load fine and seem to function correctly while running P3D in legacy mode. First, I have given up after several attempts trying to get any sensible information from the FTX forums themselves. I registered, validated the account as asked and finally, after lots of errors, managed to sign in. I am taken to a welcome page where I am supposed to post first, but as far as I can see you have to buy something before you can access so you can put your purchase number.. is there no possibility of pre-purchase questions? Hi I want to install both Ultimate Terrain X and ORBX FTX Global in FSX. Which one Should I install First?

before i install can i just get some advise please? i just dont know what i should do. i have all these other scenery addons such fs global ultimate, gex,utx, and megascenery x. which ones will i wont need anymore and/or should keep after i install? and i just started reading about landclass as well, what is is for and what does it do in relation to ftxg. can i just get some help please so of all what i should do to get the best out of this product? ps: im using Prepar3d if that makes a difference Thanks, Brad

Hello everyone, I was wondering if others had this issue as well. In the USA, where the land tends to be "dry" such as Nebraska, and other midwestern states are having the square of "green" land. Perhaps I missed a few steps, but beyond that the product is amazing!!! Here's a picture of what I'm talking about. If anyone has any idea, please feel free to let me know. Best Regards

Well, my current FSX install has become bloated and has acquired a few 'quirks' that I'd like to get rid of. Before loading FTXG, I think I'll bite the bullet and do a complete re-install of FSX. A fresh start, you might say. Any pointers on what I need to do to completely uninstall FSX Acceleration? Also, are there any FSX system files or folders that I should keep as back-up or for reference when I re-install FSX and begin the tedious process of re-loading my favorite add-ons?

I have Ground Environment X North America installed.... Do I need to uninstall this before installing FTX or will they work together?

I'll be honest. I'm waiting for DX10 to be fixed in FTX global before I buy. But I've now seen many pictures and some videos that look outstanding. I personally am interested in the night lighting aspect. I KNOW I can run pretty much everything cranked up to max except water and autogen at 1 notch down with GEX and UTX and run them SMOOTHLY. That is with ActiveSky 2012 clouds, 45% airline traffic, UTX night lighting and vehicle traffic ( thanks Steve, Paul, etc and DX10). Every video and picture I've seen with Orbx FTX global has been void of any traffic. My question is can anyone point me to a video or screen capture with traffic showing or does anyone, who is now using …

FTX Global is excellent and I know I'm beating a dead horse here but I wish someone could come up with road traffic that has little to no FPS impact. Somehow FTX did it with night lighting but now I wish we could have dense road traffic. Just a rant....well done ORBX ! Tony

While I am really enjoying FTX-Global and am a many time happy ORBX customer, the representation of the American West/Southwest including many parts of my area (Colorado) are far too green and lush, and the hues are much too "purple" - and a flight over the Grand Canyon area in particular was a bit of a surprise, as it almost looked like the Canyon was buried in a sort of greenish snow (which I think was meant to be a "sage brush" type of texture - screen-cap a post down now), and the reddish/brown coloring of the desert was really no where to be seen. okay so i just installed ftxg and sceneryteach into Prepar3D (i already had UTX aswell) but i have no idea if i did it right. i went to socal to see a difference between megascenery and its self and saw no difference! what did do wrong!?!?

Hello fellow flyers, My grandson recently purchased Global for me by a company called Orbx and I must say I am very disappointed with this product. I did not tell him this of course at it would have upset him to see that I was disappointed, but of all the flight simulation accessories I have had for Flight Simulator, this one was the most expensive and also the most disappointing. Ground textures seem to be highly off in many areas, especially in the southwest. Is there any way to get a pre selection screen like in FSX upon launching? I can't stand how it always preselects a location and airport to start at. I much rather prefer if I can choose my own settings before the flight.

I'm upset that sweetfx doesn't work with P3D, is there an alternative thats just as good or better?

Hi i bought FTX Global and it really feels like a new sim! However i noticed that whenever i have an airport or a city add on the night lights from FTXG will disappear leaving the area wihtout any lights example Fly Tampa Hong Kong. Hello all, I recently installed Longview Ranch and Elstree on my computer. My FPS in the air around the airports is in the 30-40 FPS zone. If I turn towards the the airport, my FPS drops to 8. On the ground, my FPS is good when looking a certain direction, but when looking at another area, my FPS will also drop to about 8. For example, at Longview Ranch, When I look at the hangar area, my FPS is in the mid 20's, but if I look at the runway, my FPS will drop to 8. I have no idea why this happens! Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, Is it me, or does the improved autogen, especially in big cities, provide for a more realistic and plausible arrangement of buildings and roads! Not only that, but doesn't it also give a more realistic sense of proportion for buildings, and therefore a better sense of real heigth and depth when looking down? Did i say 'again'? i meant 'for the first time' ... it's like i am flying over a real world for the fist time in FSX. it's incredible. Yes, i know that a lot of autogen objects are not there in real life but who cares as long as the arrangement of obects looks so much more convincing than the default fsx objects. I have UTX + GEX + Mesh. If i understand it correctly, FTX Global replaces GEX. But i heard that FTX Global works best with landclass, and i thought that GEX and Global WAS landclass? So I'm a bit confused now... Will FTX Global work with UTX? What do i need to disable other than lightning? Does FTX Global replace roads and the like? Sorry for another FTX Global thread, but i didn't want to hijack one. If someone could post some shots around EKAH, i would be happy :-) Thanks.

I have been looking at buying FTX Global but looking at video on youtube, the beaches look like they disappear. Has anybody installed it and does anybody have some screenshots of the beaches.

Hi, I am using FTX global and UTX, I was just wondering if I am supposed to turn some things off(besides lights) in UTX. My performance is terrible since I loaded FTX so I am thinking that I have both FTX and UTX running at the same time or something. I want to get the best performance with this new product. I have other orbx products and never had the frame rate hit I have with this. I have i7 2600k,etc etc, I was running at around 30 fps now its down to 6. Thanks for the help Anthony

This morning (in flight, paused) I took off from Detroit Metro, enroute to Thunder Bay, Ontario, and am right now at my cruise altitude of FL180. John V, your Global graphics are outstanding! Whether at 1,800 feet, or 18,000 feet, the graphics (cities, towns, counties) all look the right size, scope, and scape. I am at FL180 and the towns and cities I am flying over have got to be the most life-like renderings I have EVER HAD in a flight simulation product. This is amazing. The new lighting system is spot on for what you see at my altitude. I don't know if you had to 'scale' your graphics in house for to look life-like and natural as per the flight altitude, or FSX…
