Hey guys, I haven´t flown for quite a long time now (was very active in here before my break, maybe some know me from back then) and try to start flying again. First attempts to fire up my massive 60 GB FSX installation failed greatly, it somehow stopped wirking upon loading the flight with the RealAir Lancair over Friday Harbour. FSX is now about 7 years old, maybe it´s time to retire that and switch to Lockheed Prepared. So far from which I understand this is basicly FSX with an new UI and bug fixes being backwards capable to all FSX addons (would be verry important to me as I´ve spend a lot of money in addon). Hey! I have installed P3D and PMDG 737NGX and 747X into the P3D! It works great but the 747 has a little Problem. If I entered some things into the FMC and plan my route, the Cockpitview lags and has low FPS. Outsideview and sideviews a normal, but only the forward view has lags if there is a route inside. Has anyone an idea what the problem could be? Regards!

Occaisionally all 4 cores jump to 100% usage while the video card usage remains around 20%. No problems are caused when this happens but I am curious about rumors. Is there any substantiated info that P3D (next ver) will have some load transferred to the video card? Are there any LM comments? Do not need references just looking to see if I need a new CPU or if I need to overclock it. Gets hot in the summer if overclocked. Need water cooler then. i5 2500 3.3ghz 16mb memory nVidia GTX 550 1gb memory

I wanted to ask some questions about P3D before moving to it so it would be great if users of it can answer. 1. Is there a significant FPS gain compared to FSX with the configuration done same as it? 2. Can I install PMDG 737 with P3D with moving fsx.exe into the folder? 3. I know that REX and probably FTX Global will work with it. What about UT2 and UTX products? 4. Do I need to reinstall all the scenery products or can I just move them inside to it? 5. Do I need to reinstall all the ORBX products or can I just move them inside to it? 6. Is there any compatibility problems with DX10 airports or is it still a DX9? I also know that there is a 2.…

Can anyone please advise whether or not this product is required/beneficial if you already have another 3rd party mesh product? I use FS Global 2010, is there any point installing the Holger mesh? Thanks!

Hello, I'm looking for a native P3D traffic tool. So at the moment I can only consider MyTraffic X and Traffic 360 from Justflight. I owned MyTraffic X a few years ago, and I was disapointed by the AI-models and the user interface. So, the AI-models of Traffic 360 are said to be much better, but one can read many negatives about this product AI-behavoir related. So what do you think, which one would be the better choice? So far, I just tried the free demos, so before buying ORBX England, Wales & Scotland (latter hopefully coming soon!) I have been trying to find out how it will all fit with payware FSX airports I already have. But in spite of time spent Googling and searching this forum I don't really have an unequivocal answer. Sorry if my search skills are at fault there. I don't have that many FSX addons for the UK, as I fly mostly FS9. But I would certainly want to keep Aerosoft's 'Mega Airport London Heathrow' and UK2000's Gatwick Xtreme for instance. I am wondering why, when flying over ORBX scenery, the autogen keeps popping up almost right under my user a/c. Nothing seems to sit still for a second: a thin copse suddenly thickens into a dense forest as I approach, a sparsely populated village, a thriving town. I am used to this happening out in the middle distance, that's how FSX/FS9 work, but the effect is pretty awful when the whole scenery is continuously changing right next to one's aircraft. No such thing occurs on the ORBX demo videos. So what's wrong? I have a good PC which maintains with ease my fixed frame rate of 30fps. Made the switch to P3D yesterday and flew around a little bit with the default aircraft before starting the installation of my stuff from FSX Now when ever I ever try to select an aircraft it will freeze for about a minute then crash. Most other menus will work fine until I try to click Ok, then sometimes it will work, sometimes it will freeze then crash. Any suggestions? Running Win 8

The ATC interface in P3D is absolutley terrible, no doubt about it. I understand it (OOM's etc) to be related to bringing up the ATC window, how it shifts between the 3D application to the menu interface, and basically dumps the buffer. That said, is LM actually working on fixing this problem? The reason I ask is becasue the last time I checked, it was still an an issue as of August of last year.

Hi there, I've been desperately trying to get access to their support forum, but after I log in everything is empty. No threads, no titles, nothing, just the banners are working. There are 6 subforums when I'm a guest. As soon as I log in they disappear. I have a white page. I already sent 2 emails to their admin, but I never had a reply or a fix (first mail was sent on 28th May, the last one on 6th June) for this. Can anybody help me and tell me who can I mail to and fix this issue? Is this because I changed my email address, and now it's different from the one I used to purchase the sceneries? Do I need addon terrain mesh such as fs genesis to fly the orbx areas or is terrain mesh incuded in there orbx areas? Would it be ok to remove my addon terrain mesh?

I have Orbx NA Blue and many of its airports. But when I install non Orbx addon scenery I am supposed to switch to default (textures), install the addons and then switch back to NA. But I have not been doing that.. My Orbx is always set for NA and I keep installing other addon sceneries without switching back and forth. I have not had any issues with it. I have no intention of ever using default.... Even though I have Orbx AU I don;t fly there often Would I run into issues? I know the autogens have been giving me some grief. I need to figure a way out to add the xmls and psb. IF I do buy Orbx EU sceneries....Can I not switch back and forth brtween NA a…

Anyone tried it? I know I can use it in FSX and transfer but I'm really wanting to remove FSX from my system. Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere. Thanks for any help or ideas!

I did a massive reinstallation of FSX and all my add ons recently and have noticed something in ORBX England that I never noticed before, I have these strange patches in England. They're hard to describe, so I've outlined them in a screenshot. I'm guessing it's some kind of conflict or problem with the scenery or I've done something wrong with the installation! If anyone can help I'd appreciate it! Thanks

I wonder if anyone has figured out which Blue Sky tiles meet up fairly seamlessly with the edges of CRM? I'd like NOT to over-ride any of CRM but it would be nice to bring some of the photoscenery as close to the boundaries as I can get - at least until SRM is released :-). The border zigs and zags a bit, so it's a bit hard to tell what fits where. If no one else has tried this, I'll try to do some matching from the Google Earth and Blue Sky maps, but I was hoping that perhaps someone had already blazed this trail. Thanks in advance, Scott

After many experimentation, with different aircraft and weather scenarios / scenery areas (denser / softer), I have came to the conclusin that the best overall performance I can get results from: - In simulator texture 4096, LOD 4.5, AA OFF, AF bilinear - Nvidia Inspector: AA set at 8xSQ + Transparancy Supersampling at 2xSGS, AF 16x, Vertical Sync - use app settings. I haven't set VSync in P3D and FPS set to UNLIMITED in the simulator. Have a single monitor running at 1366x768, a Geeforce GTX 650 Ti 1GB DDR5, Intel i5-2500K @ 3.130GHz Runs smooooth as silk! I LOVE THIS SIM!!!!!!

In FTX I can get close to 100FPS (Fraps) but the same location/flight in P3D is around 40FPS. Sliders in similar settings for both programs. The other odd thing is that FTX has high GPU (video) usage at around 80 to 90%. However, P3D is around 30%. I set P3D to same nVidia Inspector parameters as FTX but no change. I5 3.4ghz, GTX550 1gb, 16 gb ram driver 311.06

Just a heads up chaps. I noticed that Flightsim store in Australia is selling out the last of the ORBX boxed DVD's as in future these products will only be available as downloads. I picked up England FTX for AUD19.95 which isn't a bad deal when compared with the standard download price if you don't mind waiting a few days for arrival after purchase Cheers Dave

Has anyone managed to run FXAA with no problems on P3D? It's a great little tool and I used it with FSX but the problem I'm having is the FXAA settings are getting lost when the P3D main window loses focus to the ATC window. A little annoying that the scenery suddenly loses it's nice look when ATC cuts in. It's fixable by re-maximising the P3D window but I would much rather it not happen at all. Any advice would be much appreciated.

It never asked me where I wanted the Orbx installed. I generally do not addon sceneries other than airports sceneries in FSX Drive. All my Mega scenery etc goes on a seperate hard drive. When I installed PNW, it just went about installing on my FSX drive without even asking me where I wanted Installed. Especially when I go SDD, this is totally unacceptable. Any ideas how I can install/move the Orbx around? Thanks Manny
