I've read lots of discussion and seen many pix of FTX-G, but so far no screenshots taken at low level (say 500 - 100ft). Not that I fly around at that height all the time, but I do like my scenery to look real when I'm landing/taking off. I currently have GEX (EU), and that works very well in that respect. Could someone possibly post some low level pix of FTX-G to compare ? Thanks in advance.

This may have already been answered, but I couldn't find anything. I know the FTX Global user guide says it is compatible with UTX, but I'm concerned about the terrain.cfg file. UTX modifies this, but so does FTX Global. I've installed FTX Global and they add some entries to the available landclass types list, plus they may have added some entries for the new roads and lights. If I install UTX USA, will the terrain.cfg get replaced, or will UTX's entries just be added to it? Does anyone know? Thanks a lot.

I asked this over at the official forum, but has anyone run into issues where water is a green tent and I have had a costal section in Germany that had a small patch of Caribbean color to it. I use REX, however I thought I read somewhere that FTX uses its own set of water textures as they are tied to the seasons..... LW

Does anyone know if there's are certain settings for P3D or can I use the exact same settings from my FSX profile? Since I am using DX9 in FSX and I think P3D is DX10, I'm not sure if it's optimal to do so.

Fellow Fly Guys 'n Gals, If you have FSXG installed, head over to the great state of California for some FSXG 'love'. Take a flight from KSAN (San Diego) to KOAK (Oakland) and see how California is doing with FSXG. I think you will like the result.... A high-wing Cessna is the ticket...rubber necking is to be enjoyed without pesky wings in the way...lol. LOD 5.5 or 6.5 is really nice if you stay in the air for any reasonable amount of time.... Have fun.

Will these add-ons work for P3D. I already have them installed for FSX, Do I need to install another copy or can I simply point P3D to the FSX's installations? This will save me time and hard drive space if I can do the latter.

I have black squares on the autogen scenery? It appears to be on top of the majority of buildings. Any ideas?

Anyone know if FlightBeam airports work with 1.4?

Before I purchase a migrator tool for my FSX -> P3D installation. Which out of these 2 works better? I heard from other's that I'm able to even get UTX/GEX installed with one of these tools. Would like some advice from those who have used both on which one to get. I want to be able to install PMDG planes, GEX, UTX, EZDok Camera, OpusFSX, REX, GSX, FlyTampa Scenery, MegaSceneryEarth, etc. Will these tools allow me to do that quick and easily? Thanks.

Without having to install another copy? I have FSX and P3D installed on the same HDD. Since I already have REX and most of my other addons like UTX, OpusFSX, EZdok Camera, FS Global Meshes, is there a way I can make P3D use the one's installed for FSX? I would hate to have to install everything twice as that can get quite big and take up a lot of space. So for those of you who have both FSX and P3D install, what is the best way to accomplish this?

Does anyone know how to install FlightBeam KSFO into P3D? I just bought it and the installer doesn't give an option (I realize it's an older addon). I read where the procedure to install is posted somewhere but my searches on these forums turned up nothing. Any help is much appreciated! Todd

Is FTX Global compatible with scenery tech landclass?

Congratulations are in order for Orbx and their brilliant FTXGlobal texture set. These Aussies have managed to turn Texas into the lush green paradise that we who dwell here always knew it could be! Hello, I've been an FSX user from day 1. Like most of you, I've amassed a fairly substantial collection of addons. Today, I was uninstalling an addon airplane using Revo uninstaller to make sure I got all of the files and registry entries. Well, It got everything, including my FSX installation. When I have to do a full reinstall, it usually takes weeks to get everything back to where it was. The question I'm facing now is, is this the time to make the switch to P3d? Is there enough of a performance boost to justify the added expense? What addons will I lose if I go this way. For anyone interested. I've just moved my ORBX scenery files to a separate SSD drive, outside of FSX and created 'symbolic links' to the files. Loading is faster and flight is smoother. Well pleased;-)

Today I flew into KBFI and noticed I am seeing double. Two control towers (identical) right next to each other on the west side of runway 31L near center field. My question is whether anyone else sees this or do I have a bad install? My FPS in this area is lower than it used to be also so it really makes me wonder if I have an issue with the PNW install. I had computer issues after a hardware upgrade so had to reload all FSX and addons. Before this happened I don't remember seeing multiple towers but may have just overlooked it. Don't know. I have win7 x64 with FSX Gold & FTX PNW loaded. I also have patch PNW005 which I believe is the latest along with ORBX…

Hi Guys, I have hardware hooked up to my P3D, Throttle Quad, Yoke, rudder pedals and what not. I completely deleted the button/Axes commands from within P3D, P3D no longer controls these hardware devices. All my hardware is controlled via FSUIPC 4.90. What file or files would I have to backup in order to save these assignments?. I hate having to redo FSUIPC after a P3D reinstall. Thanks

Sorry if this has been covered here already . I have sifted through ORBX forum and here . First of all I will be looking forward to ORBX's upcoming LC packages . I just added UTX due to the fact that FSGlobal does not have road/highway data , only ground texture replacement . I also think that it is recommended that we turn off UTX lighting . Question : How much of the rest of the options in UTX's configurator should we retain and what else should we disable ? This is for those of us who will be using the ORBX's LC's when they come out .
