In answer to a question in the Prepar3D Forum about P3D Ver 2.0 being backwards compatible QUOTE: Aircraft and scenery build for 1.x should work fine with 2.0. We will have a new model format version with some added capabilities though, so models built for 2.x won't work with 1.x unless they are exported seperately in the 1.x format. There might be some visual issues with old FS8/9 models that worked in 1.x. (Some models are marketed as FSX/P3D models but still use the the legacy bgl opcodes for rendering.) Once again been away from FSX for a while, but I'm planning to start playing it again on frequent basis whenever I can (in the weekend). So I noticed this long awaited product has been released around two months ago. I saw some product features and I quite impressed but I was even more impressed when I saw a video review about it saying that these claims/features were actually true. I'm just curious what opinion others have on this product. Is there really no FPS loss at all? What about the night lightning? Is it worth it? And oh, how come it's so cheap? Greetings! I have grown weary of having a most excellent flight in FSX die for no apparent reason 4 minutes from landing. I have grown weary of FSX taking a dump on me just sitting on the tarmac setting up aircraft for flight. Just color me weary from having two of three flights die for no apparent reason. And no, I am NOT re-installing FSX. So, I made the switch to Prepar3D. So far I have migrated my beloved Orbx terrain over, my REX (all for 5 bucks!) textures, and my Opus weather engine, all with resounding success. After completing new build I am installing my addons. So far have installed GEX and UTX. Number 3 is ORBX PNW and when I select and apply the ORBX region in FTX central I get the following Unhandled Exception error. ANd when I start the SIM it is the default scenery where the ORBX scenery should be. You may remember that in the FSX.cfg file there is a [TRUSTED] section but this does not appear to exist in the Prepar3D.cfg file. This means that every time I run P3D I get a warning "The module Flight1SoundStreamP3D.dll has not been tested for compatibility with the FS version you have installed." Is there a way to prevent this annoying message from Flight1 Sound Stream? Thanks

This has never happend to me before on any other airports... I was at FTX S45 - - Images tell the rest... By the way about that little quick tip and stuff, I was flying with the mouse because I'm away from home... No Joystick/Yoke/Pedals anything... I looked at other airports and they were all fine.

Hi Guys, I don't know if its me or is anyone else facing this problem? I installed the Orbx global and i started getting pixellated skys and runway textures. I installed it as mentioned but i have no choice to revert back to original textures. It's quite expensive so if anyone says a fix or advise to fix this problem, would appreciate alot.

Hello I have the orbx airport collections YMML,YBCS,YBBN etc etc on all of them I have blurrey taxi lines, see below so its really hard to see where im taxiing. It maybe a scenery layer problem as I also have the red,gold,blue,green packs too any ideas or help ?? cheers

This afternoon, I decided to fire up PNW and take off from 7WA3. I headed the amphib towards the Pacific coast and arrived about 25 minutes later, skirting the river valley, so as to keep around 2,800 feet all the way. Coming out over the bay area, I noticed a well-detailed (all comments are with Global at my default Very Dense setting) refinery and ship moored at the 1/4 mile out-to-sea (shallow bay waters...) dock system. IS it possible to have both the PNW AI Traffic by ORBX installed next to World of AI, but I understand that it's best used with only one active, is there a way I can have both installed but only activate one of them? Meaning if I were to switch a file or something I would get WOAI, and the other one I would get the ORBX Traffic. I really don't want to uninstall all the WOAI for this, I would like to be able to switch between them...

so i just bought and installed an new gtx 670, any suggestion on tweaks and NI and what not? when i first ran prepar3d after the installation all of the fonts and everything else were blurry. this is my first nvidia card so id love to get some help on how to get the best performance possible.

I have heard that not only is there no uninstaller if I change my mind, but that it also overwrites some basic FSX files so there is no 'going back'..... can anyone clarify this? If true Im definatly passing, tks

So, here is what I do not understand, if somebody can please clarify before I buy....... I have used ORBX Australia scenery, and love it. I also purchased FTX England, but uninstalled it due to a number of issues. So, does FTX Global replace England / Scotland / Wales etc? Do both run together, and if so, what are the pros and cons? I've been unable to find any info on this on any forum, including the FTX ones. Can somebody advise me please? Many thanks, Andrew.

As I said I would do this (since nobody was welling to do so) I went to Simforums and asked Nick some questions raised by some members here about his bible and the way he conducted himself in it in regard to other developer(s). I could not think of everything or every questions raised here but it does look like (from his reply) he's welling to answer me and possibly other fellow simmers if their questions are legitimate (look like he won't put up with any bull ****). Hi, I just installed (hopefully corect) some of the carriers/carrier ops offered by the AVSIM Library into P3D. I also installed a free T45. After reading docs, I can't figure out how to actually start/launch from the carrier so I can do a quick flight around the boat. Could anyone help me out. Thanks.

Hey Guys! For a long time I had FSX but then i changed to Prepar3d because i heared only positive things about this Sim. Now everything works great but only the AirbusXExtended won't work... I installed it and it works fine. A flight within 1 hour is ok Stable FPS... But after 1hour it starts to get instable from 5FPS to 34FPS :-( That's very bad and I want to fix it! Is that possible? That would be very very great! My System: Intel core i5 3,10Ghz Nvidia GeForce GTX650 8GB RAM So guys I hope for answers and you could help me! Thank you :-) Wishes, Roland

I've been trying to figure out how a combination of: - prop_on_roll - p_factor_on_yaw - high_alpha_on_yaw - high_alpha_on_roll - thrustanglepitchheading.N with a payware aircraft, but also with the default Mooney and Maule, and honestly I see no noticeable differences, specially when applying the last one which, in my believe should cause some evident pitching / yawing moments (?) Comments / suggestions welcomed! P.S.: I confess I used most of this in the past, but it was on FSX, and I really can't recall how it worked :-/ I recall somehow that at least setting "thrustanglepitchheading" was perfectly useless, but I'm not absolutely sure if it doesn't…

I never bought a Carenado when I had FSX or FS9. By that time I used to hear // read the worst about their models regarding flight dynamics and systems modelling / functionality, but when I tried X-Plane 10 I decided to try the Carenados available for that platform and was very positively surprised ! I believe having Dan Klaue behind the models for X-Plane 10 is the same quality certificate we have when I hear / read Bernt Stolle is the FD designer behind the FSX / P3D models, so, I am really decided to get one. I have ORBX YMML my airport runways and taxiways have very blurred taxi lines etc and the surface looks more brown sand colour than concrete, would anyone kindly advise what I need to do to fix this?
