Hello, Under FSX undocked views always appears with a two pixels border that can't be removed. Using Prepar3d, do we have the same behaviour or is it possible to remove the border of the undocked views ? Thank you ! Paul-Henri

Hi - I'm looking to find out how P3D handles AI traffic. Specifically, in what format does the simulator tell the graphics processor how to display what pixels. In a nutshell, we are attempting to create a rudimentary TCAS system, and while we might be over our heads, I thought I'd try here first. Does anyone have any experience working with AI traffic? SDK developers? Thanks in advance, I really appreciate it! - Colin

Hello John Venema, It's difficult to reply to your message if you have that thread deleted 5 mins after posting your message to me? Your team has had ample time to fix DX10 issues and using someone's vacation as an excuse for not yet having addressed these issues is beyond lame! The mere fact that I'm able to fix the static aircraft black box shadow issue in less than 30 mins as a non-developer shows just how little Orbx cares to help the DX10 community. Your whole library system is a total mess and from what I could see, your individual developers just add their static aircraft models willy-nilly, there is absolutely no consistency in how shadowing is handled…

Hello everyone It seems that I need the help of the community for this one, as hours spent on google did not show one similar issue. I currently run Prepar3D 1.4 with FTX Global 1.1 and REXE OD SP2. At night I get this weird bright brown ground texture surrounding buildings. This is usually visible at airports or sometimes even in cities and is always to be found around buildings. I have tried numerous reinstalls however was not able to get rid of the mars texture. The pictures show the buildings at Frankfurt EDDF (stock). I’m grateful for any hint you may share with me Many thanks and greetings from Switzerland harddisk_ripper

Are any of the default P3D planes worth flying? How do they compare to FSX default?

With the new rendering engine and opportunities that come with it, do you think 3PDs will develop (or would you ever want) rain on windows while flying like these other sims below produce? I think it would add to the immersion especially when tracking the glide slope with limited visibility. Train Simulator Euro Truck

Sim720 released Oban (EGEO North Connel) today as an independent developer. I posted screenshot at OrbX and it got deleted without notice. O asked about in the general forum and it got deleted as well. Not a very nice attitude towards your customers. Why not tell just what happened. Anyway Oban by Sim720 is a nice addition to OrbX SCO and compatible with default and Horizon as well. Look here.

Here's another post from the official P3d message board: It will be nice to not have to mess around with the CFG file and then hope that you didn't add a typo that causes a CTD.

I've been testing this package for the past week or so and it is very nice. The GPS package will be released this Friday on Mindstar's website. Projected cost is $50USD, which includes both units with crossfill capability. So far, I have used the gauges in the MilViz Cessna 310, A2A Cessna 172, Aerosoft Twin Otter Xtended, and the RealAir Turbine Duke. The navdata for both gauges can be kept current using a separate AIRAC subscription from RealNav. WAAS will be added early 2014 and there will be no charge for the upgrade. All of Mindstar's products are compatible with P3D v1.4 and v2.0 (and FSX, as well as FS9). Todd

...that it is developed by a big company that's only open during office hours so we never ever get information or an update on progress or a new blog during the weekend. That sucks. Here I am, sitting behind the PC all the time and all that is being posted is the same old news and speculation (and some crap) and that's it. Other than that... all is fine.

I have grown tired of all the talk of, you know who. So please don't bring it up in my thread I'm very excited about the upcoming platform and have been looking at aircraft to fly on it. Two great aircraft that will probably take up the majority of my flying time, A2A's C172, and Majestics Dash 8-Q400 Pro. Both of these aircraft are as good as anything else out there, or even better. Not only do these aircraft bring an incredible amount of systems programming, but both come with improved FDE. Accusim for the Cessna and an external FDE for the Dash 8. Why be happy with 95% accuracy when you can have nearly perfect? These aircraft are THE very best add-ons for FSX or P3D pe…

In FSX I never felt much need to subscribe to a Nav service to keep cycles up to date, or for that matter, my charts, because actual FSX runway headings were firmly fixed in 2005. I know that there was some update or workaround at one point, but I understood it was not a 100% solution, seemed like a pain, and I never got around to it. Is there any provision in P3D to keep these things up to date or is it pretty much just same story as FSX?

I may have this wrong but did someone mention that in P3D v2 there will be the option to deliver weapons? If so, what with?. I only know of the RAZBAM harrier that can drop weapons in P3D at the moment so are LM going to supply a platform to do this from or is that just for the military side? Gingerterry

I fly for pretty much most of the time over photo-scenery, MSEv2 USA to be exact, with bright sunshine and little cloud. I don't really have the autogen slider that high as there are no objects to be seen other than near the airports, which all come with the airport packages I have. My question is, If you don't need to see autogen buildings, trees etc, do you really need that good a GPU or is a mid range one adequate. What really tests your GPU? is it photoscenery, autogen or both. Thanks.

I find it rather ironic that a lot of us are so looking forward to the fog effects that we see in the screenshots released the other day. Fog is a pilots worst nightmare and I imagine that there are many real flyers that would not even contemplate going for a jolly, if on arrival at the airfield, he couldn't see his horizons. And yet, I expect for many of us, this is going to be our first flight upon release, I know it will be mine. Fog+mountains+fast jet = seat of your pants flying, Oh yes. I would also like to know, about the 'DEBUG' option on the menu bar in the screenshots. what does this do? is it for us or is it just in the BETA as a tool for the developer…

About what I thought of the CEO of Orbx can be found in post # 14 in the link below. http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/65425-is-there-an-official-stance-yet-on-dx10-by-orbx/ I have said it all before, and he still belittles his customers on his forum. If I was the recipient of his comment, It would be the last time I went there.

I've been using the ORBX FTX Central and I've been experiencing very bad framerates on approach to Calgary. I just did a 200 minute flight from Memphis to Calgary Intl in my SimCheck A300B4, and I had a steady frames of 6.0 on approach. I managed to get the bird down, but it felt like I was watching a slideshow of FSX screenshots. I like to fly out in the country with my An-2 and Lancair Legacy... frames are fine out there, but when I get to Calgary, I watch the frames get in the low teens, and sometimes in the single digits. I've flown to Calgary before, with the PMDG 737NGX and the Aerosoft Airbus Extended X. Both flights, I experienced low frame rates... which is d…

Ok, I'm wondering if three is a setting someplace to change the time display on the G1000 (specifically for the Mooney Acclaim) so that it displays UTC instead of Localtime. I looked in the gauges directory and didn't see anything jump out at me. Any thoughts would be appreciated --Paul

... to get access to the REX forum (a fair membership Verification issue, which is in hand). My question affects P3d users who have FSX installed as well, AND use REX Essential (or variant). I suspect many of you guys will have solved this issue, or can put me straight. I have my P3d setup pretty much how I want it, with REX installed, in combination with Opus. But, unable to try the new PMDG T7 I re-installed FSX. So far so good. But when I tried to install REX to FSX it only gave me the MRR Options (Modify, Repair, Remove) referring to my existing P3d installation. This seems normal enough, but my question is: Is it legitimate / possible to dual-install REX t…

Just wondered where LM would generate the most revenue from for this, and in fact, other releases to date. I tried to google how many there are but its tiresome to trawl through them all and find out which ones would actually use P3D as a tool for there training. I can imagine there being an interest from the military and your large carriers, as, with the slimming down of the worlds airforces over recent years will mean that the natural progression from military flying to civil once the pilots service has ended after say 25 years, means that there just wont be available, the next generation of pilots coming through in the future. This means that a lot of the airlines ne…

I left Norway because I don't want to get tired of flying there before FTX Norway South has been released. I reinstalled England and flew there a little but (sorry) most parts of England are a bit boring... So I flew up north, near Scotland, where there are some er... higher hills. Things looked more interesting there so I started thinking about buying FTX Scotland, mainly to keep me entertained until Norway has been released. (Yes, I also have FTX Global but although it's great, it doesn't give me what the regions give me. Simple as that.) Now I read quite a few times that Scotland is 'one of the best' and 'better than England' and I wonder in what regard this is? I…
