I just wanted to start a thread for people to post their PC specs and results they are getting. This should give people a rough idea of how their hardware will run P3D V2.

1. Is there a limit to how often you can download the files? (Time limit and/or amount limit) 2. Can you download the files to any computer to use them on another computer? TIA!

Just finished. FYI when it installs it looks like its at around 98% and then it takes a long time, after 5 mins I open the LM install file W7 was showing 73 files at that time, after what felt like another 5 mins and showing 120 Items the install finished. So just a HU that don't panic at a shown 98 ish %. Right posted this before even looking at it, so am off now

First after installing I got the cannot find MFC100.dll error. I found out that I had to install the 32-bit C+ file "vcredist_x86" not the 64- bit version. Of course download.microsoft.com sucks so the best speed I get is 20 kb/s so it takes 25 minutes for me to download the 64-bit then another 25 for the 32 bit. Now I'm getting an error that I don't have Direct X 9.0c installed. I have no idea how to install that because when I go to download it it says that I have to have XP or earlier edition of Windows. I have Win-8 64-bit. What a great first day P3d. Who'd ever thought that someone with a Win-8 64 bit pc would ever buy your product in 2013, must be a shock to…

Hey, Since I have a Quad core system only i5-750. I did notice that by default P3D2 (this sounds so much like R2D2..) uses 3 cores on my system - Affinity mask 14 (it is not on the prepar3d.cfg), but I had to put Affnitymask to 15 to get all cores working to get little better performance on my old system. Joystick issue is there with Windows 8.1. Lockheed Martin needs to pressure Microsoft to release a fix for this joystick disconnect crap. I will do more testing this week (but with thanksgiving right around the corner, and work picking up)...this is going to one crazy week for me. Keep you posted on further tweaks and developments, Skywolf

I have been flying ins FSX since it came out, but now it's old and out dated. Currently I am looking at P3D, because it is FSX and more. I am currently in a predicament, P3D or FSX. I just recently got a new PC (64-bit, lots of RAM, ect), but FSX can't use that to its fullest potential, and I am just sick of all the issues I have been having with it now. What is holding me back is all the payware I have for FSX. I don't want to loose the $100+ I spent on making the sim as real as possible, and the biggest lose will be PMDG's aircraft. I have heard of the migration tool, but will that work with all my sceneries, aircraft, ect...(even the NGX)?... So is it worth me getting …

Below you will find the questions that we passed on to Wes Bard, Program Lead for Lockheed's P3D. These questions were culled from those submitted by the community over the last week. Enjoy the read! 1. What new features will third party add-on developers be able to take advantage of in P3D v2? Hi Tom. Thanks again for the opportunity to speak with you and your readers at AVSIM Online today. I really appreciate it. This question is one I would hope you would ask. While v2 does feature a new rendering engine, a new license for military training in Professional Plus, a new user interface, and a new suite of mission creation tools in SimDirector, some of the m…

As we all wait for tomorrow to arrive, and several members said that it feels like Christmas . . . Twas the night before Prepar3d, when all through the house Not a keyboard was stirring, not even a mouse. The joysticks were hung by the computer with care, In hopes that Lockheed’s sim soon would be there. The flightsimmer’s were nestled all snug in their beds, While visions of dynamic shadows danced in their heads. After hours of debating which version was best, We had finally settled our brains for a long winter’s rest.

Hey guys With the new sim imminent now, I was wondering what type of install is everybody gearing up for? My fsx is on a dedicated 250GB SSD which is half used up and I don't want to install P3Dv2 there. Ipresume like fsx you will want to install it in its own dedicated drive? 250GB or even 500GB SSD?

Hi, I'm trying to figure out the best way to utilise multiple screens for my P3D installation. Since I play mostly in windowed mode, I have tried the obvious solution of simply resizing my window to cover multiple screens. However, there seems to be some upper limits on how wide the image can be within the window where it simply stops scaling any further (only slightly larger than the width of my largest screen). I have no problems getting the window to span multiple displays, the simulation image will simply not fill the entire window. Having recently upgraded to a new GeForce 780 I decided to try Nvidia surround with three screens. The problem with this approach is th…

I received an email from The Flight Sim Store telling me there was a new version of FTX Global available so I went and downloaded it earlier. Unfortunately there is no changes file so I have no idea whether I should install this over my previous v1.1 or not? Is this purely adding installers for p3D? Is it worth an FSX user installing it over the top of the previous latest version? Does one uninstall the old version of FTX Global and then install this version? Would have been nice to have some sort of instructions/change log in the zip file!

I just want to make sure I have this straight. The Professional Plus Version 2.0 of Prepar3d contains military training for weapons systems. But does in contain everything that is contained in the Professional Version of P3D Version 2.0. I don't intend to purchase the $2300.00 version but am considering the $20.00 per month license. This gives me the option of the Professional license, the military weapons training, and the ability to do developer work. With all three options I think it presents the best value. Anyone else considering this option? Tom Kellogg

Whew,... I have never met such a bunch of cry babies!!! We ALL knew that PMDG is not licensed for P3d.But nooo, some of us went out anyway to buy it, found it did not work & blamed PMDG, LM & the ghost of Xmas past, & said 'we will never support LM/PMDG/Microsoft. Guys, dont try squeeze something in where it is not supposed to go! READ the EULA's for what you bought!! I saw that the 777 was not licensed for P3d. I did not get onto the forums & cry. I got something else that would keep me busy with my training. If I REALLY wanted it, I will get it for my FSX. The world will still turn, the heavens will not open, & Tom will not need to moderate p…

First of all let me explain, that I have been using FSX, since 98, going through all the trials and tribulations, and all the tweeking, and all the new hardware and software to keep up with each new edition of flight simulator. Finally after all these years, my computer is running fsx pretty good. Recently I also moved over to dx 10, and Steve's dx10 fixer. In reference to Prepar3d, the screenshots, the graphics, look totally awesome!!!! Everything here, sounds too good to be true. Now I am concerned, here we go again, is it time to upgrade my computer again, are we going to have to do tweeking, etc etc. To be perfectly honest, all this new technology i…
