Hi All, new here although I have been a Sim Head for years. I decided to wait on the version 2 release and just purchased, however I purchased the Academic Version and its currently downloading. I think I already regret not buying the Pro Version. I'm a licensed pilot who has been inactive for several years and I use Flight Sim to keep the brain active. Does anyone know if you can upgrade from Academic to Pro? BTW 170kb on my download speed, serious throttling going on..

Firstly well done to LM on bandwidth, I was able to download at full speed in less than an hour. Also the autogen is great in terms of density and transistion. One problem I've run into that I've not seen for an age is regular stutters. In FSX DX10, with Inspector and all, the stutters were virtually gone and then just once in a while. However particular when I'm looking over the wing to the left or right they are occurring frequently. Frame rate is locked at 30fps and it stays at that, Vsync is checked and I don't see any tearing. This look for all the world like the stutters I had in FSX until Nvidia fixed vsync in their driver. Something to do with 1/2 monito…

Hey, Everyone check out the General Performance Tuning Section. They really have very few tweaks listed and they provide a very clear explanation about the core uses (which one can change if he/she desires to). For me one thing is certain (user to user it may vary) is that P3D2 settings are very different from fsx/p3d14. Did anyone play with Time Preview - this is awesome when seeing time change in seconds (I wish I can hide the preview dialog window). Awesome eyecandy Later, skywolf

Hi all, I understand there is a beta file available to make it compatible for P3D. My question is, are we able to have EZCA work for both FSX and P3D? I want to keep both versions and need the ability to go from FSX to P3D. Not too sure how to go about it.... Thank you in advance John.

I got a nvidia surround setup supported by two gtx 580 1,5gb gpu`s. I know that p3d is not supporting sli at this point, but still.. i am getting very poor performance whit a average of 10 - 20 fps whit all the eye candy either off or way down. Btw my cpu is running @ 4,6 ghz whit HT off. Anyone out there who have a good stable stutter free experience whit triple monitors? I am in that case curios to hear what hardware and in game settings you are using. I was hoping to take advantage of 3D vision to, but that is unfortunately not working at all.

Ok so I exited p3d V2 after its first use. Later when I rentered the sim it was running but I was just seeing black. The only fix I found was to delete the cfg and let p3d build a new one. I tried again changing settings and got the same result on the start ups past the first with the new cfgs. So I started trying every graphics setting building one on top of the other thinking that one of the settings was the cause but it wasn't. I finally found the cause and that is exiting in full screen mode. So if you have this issue comming back to windowed mode everytime before you exit will keep this issue from appearing. My video card is a GTX660TI running the latest certif…

We need solid, quantifiable performance numbers for P3D v2. I don't know if P3D can open the same situation files as FSX. If it can, just use FSXMark 11 for now and we can work on an up-to-date benchmark for P3D later.

Is the professional version such that you can still install it and use it even if LM decides to pull the plug for some reason (not meeting profit targets, corporate restructure, etc). I guess I mean is it activated once and that's it, so I could keep using it on the same hardware?

Does this happen automatically in P3D with Vsync set to on or do I have to enable 1/2 refresh rate in the nvidia settings?

Today I received an e-mail from LM releasing me from the NDA agreement when we at RAZBAM joined the Beta Test. Today Beta 4 was released. It is the final beta before production release and we are now authorized to post pictures and talk about Prepar3D v 2.0 everywhere we want to. The main news is that Prepar3D will be released in November. The Prepar3D website will be updated on Nov 18th. Gotta go. I'm downloading the Beta 4 as I type this.

I give, what's the real difference? It seems like mission-building might distinguish pro and academic, but it seems a bit cryptic. Any ideas?

Hello Just wanted to post that if we show the menu bar in window mode (to use my 5040x1050 res, because in full screen don't let me use it) I have a frame drop. Big one. Once I press the Alt key.. it is gone.
