I purchased CLS MD 81 and installed it, works great. I used the migrator to install it and on the first fire up I thought I had wasted my money for P3D purposes but after I reverted Migrator back to and fired P3D up in native mode all was good.

That is SO MACKINAC ISLAND! You always see people who ride up from the town, on their own, or rentals...to take a break, and watch the landings and takeoffs. There is one 'aircraft type' missing though....a lot of people from the Greater Chicago Area fly to Mackinac Island in private rotors.... I always see a couple at the airport anytime I drive up there, and spend a few days... One fellow and his wife (he's a lawyer in business law) 'twirls' over to the island about twice a month, as his wife loves the feeling of going back in time to the 19th century with all the horse-drawn transportation, and only that allowed. I'm with her on that! Well..back to the …

I've read numerous posts about running P3d in Legacy mode. How exactly do you do that?

I heard Prepar3d supports more then one monitor/projector with built in blending/image correction with omnimap and easyblend? Anyone have any experience with this software to get >180 FOV? Thanks.

I am doing the flight planning for my around the world flight in a single engine light plane, the Quest Kodiak, a million dollar bush plane. I am actually reprising the flight I did it a number of years ago in FS2002. Then I flew the route in an Aviat Husky Amphib. It took about 3 months. I lost the flight plans but I still have the map. It’s a very circuitous route I planned. I fly 400-500 miles a day (the aircraft cruises at about 185 knots). VFR all the way. I leave from Roswell and fly south through Mexico and Central America and down the west coast of South America to the southern tip of Chile. Then back up the east coast of South America, across Brazil, up…

Since I'm going to be on this forum for a while I decided to update my profile. The picture is of a limited edition print by Robert Tinney for which I have permission to use as a thumbnail. It depicts a virtual pilot and copilot in a simulator cockpit flying in the real world through a monitor. It was very clever I thought, so I purchased a print. Noel

The only ORBX product I have is England, it was the first product I brought from them, and I was a little underwhelmed by it. I keep hearing really good things about FTXG so have been looking forward to this demo, so I could reevaluate my disappointment with my previous purchase. Not having flown in Iceland before I thought it best to fly around the default scenery for an hour or so and then load the demo and appreciate the difference. This I did for dawn, dusk, day and night. After loading, I couldn't resist finding out what the new vector lighting was like. Eek! It was a bit of a surprise. I should explain that I use Eyefinity at a resolution of 5760*1…

Hiya I did a scan with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware yesterday and it came up with 2 Trojan.Refroso positive hits for FSX\ORBX\Scripts\FTXLights_Day and FTXLights_Night. MS Security Essentials found nothing and Spybot also passed these files. I just deleted these two files and installed the Iceland Demo which reinstalled the two files and rechecking them with Malwarebyts they come up positive again. I'm sure ORBX wouldn't be distributing any malware but I find it interesting these two files (actually they are programs) get tagged. Google only shows up a couple of German posts about this. I was wondering if anyone else had encountered this before?

For a few years I have messed with FSX and always had in some situations received those flickering / flashing problems on textures and buildings (not just like the mosquito noise of what Land Detailed Textures causes, but I mean full flickering and/or shimmering). That was until I discovered the below document. I followed the below guide and installed a third-party tool called Nvidia Inspector, and basically copied his settings. http://#####.wordpress.com/fsx-software-and-hardware-guide/ I finally after years bought a new comp (nothing fancy, just i5 @ 3.1ghz w/ GTX 660 2g + 8gb System Ram), I was dissapointed at first because even though my frame rates were higher…

Maybe someone in this forum can answer a technical question. As far as I know a 32 bit application has an addressing space limited to 4GB. Now we know that P3D is moving a lot of stuff from conventional RAM to Video RAM. In my understanding, this doesn't mean that we will have more room for our textures, weather, models and so on. Hopefully we will get some improvements due to the fact that we will see a better load balancing between CPU and GPU, and that the GPU will be able to process stuff from its own memory, which should be a lot faster than moving things from main memory. I'm not expecting to solve a VAS problem tho. Am i wrong about this, under a technical poi…

I performed a reinstall the other day and tried to load up my saved flight plans (made using FlightSim Commander 9.x). The flight plans didn't load. After a little research I read that for each saved flight plan, FlightSim Commander makes somthing like 6 different files stored in various places. Is there a simple way to "export" the plan or somehow save it so that if I have to reinstall in the future I don't have to rebuild my flight plans from scratch?

Hi Guys, Just ran a six hour flight from KSAN to PHNL. It's nice not having the CTD or OOM (as I would get in that other sim ) after spending so much time setting up and flying the route. Nice to finish off a six hour flight with a dusk descend into PHNL. Aloha

How fast does it take you to start up FSX? How are your framerates? I just reinstalled everything clean after running out of room on my 500GB SSD. I bought and installed an additional 250GB SSD to hold my mesh scenery. My system is a Dell XPS 8500; Intel Core I7-3770 @ 3.4GHZ with 8GB RAM. I have only FSX and my Orbx scenery on the 500GB SSD including FTX Global. I have all the Pilots FS Global Ultimate meshes on the second 250GB SSD as well as the backup files for FTX Global. My C drive is a 1TB standard disk drive. My startup time when starting FSX is 3 min 11 sec. That seems a bit long. While flying my frame rates (locked at 30FPS) run ab…

For you 1.4 users...other than ORBX stuff with dual installers, can you please tell me what I might expect to need to do, to purchase and use v2.0 when it comes out? Can you just 'install' once more most of your scenery and 3rdP planes? I can't imagine that nothing that I have now running and using within FSX, could not be merely (programs, planes, scenery, etc) layered onto V2.0. I do not have any user experience with other than the FSX engine, and do not know. Can anybody that is running 1.4, perhaps please tell me/us what their experience in third party properties is, and the true deal between FSX/P3D regarding their 3rd Party scenery/plane portfolio. Wou…

I have been using FSX for many years, flying on line with Vatsim and have a vast library of scenery and planes... I am considering moving to Prepar3d but before I do I want to get a better understanding of the licensing. For an experienced of user of FSX which licence option should I take and is this a one off fee? Thanks Andrew

Does anyone know if LM has fixed the 180-deg wind shift bug that has been present in every version of MSFS since FS2000? In each FS release, Pete Dowson has had to do his magic with FSUIPC to get control over winds that seemingly randomly shift 180 degrees. Is that behavior still present in P3D? Cheers

Hello, I got the tree problem to my FTX North America. The Orbx forum gives a list of ideas how to remove them, but nobody seems to really know what's it a ll about. How about here? I don't have the Global thing but all US regions and a couple of airports with UTX. The trees appeared only lately, could it be one of their own library updates that did this?
