posted this on P3D so thought I would post here too. Have we any inclination as to what this is going to cost yet? with possible upgrades to your CPU or GPU, I don't see much change from £500 for those alone, so would like to know what sort of price we are looking at. It could be the LM are watching these forums very carefully to gauge response and possible sales before they set a price. Its simple supply and demand, If your the only vendor selling water at a rock concert, your gonna up your prices, lots of vendors, you keep your prices down. I am going to start a " not going to buy P3D " campaign (tee hee), in an effort to drive the cost down. anyone with me? (sounds…

Has LM changed or otherwise altered the core physics engine.? Given that accurate ground, flight physics and turbulence modelling has to be added to FSX with the likes of A2As Accufeel, there is a need to include this in the core of the simulation platform. I don't own XP10 nor have I used it, but one aspect of Xplane that always looked good was the accurate suspension modelling of aircraft. It would be awesome if this was incorporated as part of the new build.

Hello, I currently use FSX on one PC with 3 displays: one for the front view (from cockpit), one for the left side view (rotation of -60 ° from the cockpit view), one for the right side view (rotation of +60 ° from the cockpit view), The resolution of each display is 1280*800. I'm about to switch to Prepar3d, but I don't know whether this configuration is supported or not. Can somebody help ? Thank you ! Paul-Henri

I was really enjoying the positive, optimistic, and exciting discussion regarding P3D V2. I am so frustrated that these threads keep getting locked due to a few trouble makers that are getting their wish by ruining all are fun with idiot posts. THOSE POSTS ARE NOT WELCOME ON THIS THREAD. I created this thread because I'm drinkin' the P3D coolade and I love how it tastes. Those of you who want to participate. Grab a cup and come on in...

Just went over to LM P3D forums and there are no forums. I'm logged in and can get to a few of their other areas at the site but no forums. Is anyone else seeing this? Could it be the government shutdown has might actually affect P3Dv2 release?

Hi all I'm thinking of buying ftx global but was wondering if I should buy some sort of mesh as I think I'm only using the stock fsx mesh. I already have a few ftx scenery areas but don't know if they come with there own mesh or not, I have all UK and PNW. What is considered to be the best mesh out there at the moment Thanks

Looks as though DD designs has spilt the beans of P3D v2.0 entering beta - http://drzewiecki-design.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=3408&sid=4d1c2c64f0af0ebe15c7b8d991a2d268#3408 I also noticed that LM are asking for input on what should be seen on a startup screen - http://www.prepar3d.com/forum-5/?mingleforumaction=viewtopic&t=1541.11 Both are making a little giddy - looks like there's some good stuff just around the corner!

Quick question (probably stupid as well), since the FSX guys are getting all hyped about DX10, are we able to do the same over here?

I have a similar thread running in the MS Scenery forum but tonight I discovered a new problem and I want to see if it ORBX and the KDAL airport addon I am using are fighting for supreme control of the FSX universe. Problem: Ever since I installed Doug Adkins's KDAL v1.5b there has been a problem with the airport at the Northwest end of the airport where Bachman Lake is located, right at the end of 31L/31R. When I take off in that direction shortly after lift off at that end of the airport the game freezes for 2 seconds then comes back to life. The lake turns white and all the ORBX textures around the lake turn black for a second then all the textures are resto…

LM have stated that the autogen popping issue in FSX will no longer be a problem in P3D v2.0. From WBard at LM while we don't alpha fade, we do some rendering tricks to fade in the autogen so they don't pop in like they used to. good request! request received and implemented Software Manager - Prepar3D® Team

Admittedly there probably this isn't an easy answer for my question, if there is one yet. Having skipped the 737NGX from PMDG in favor of the iFly 737 with an installer for P3D, I'm considering purchasing the upcoming T7 from PMDG and using the migration tool that's been used quite effectively for the NGX. PMDG doesn't allow this but doesn't prevent it either. Does anyone know if a preventative measure will used by PMDG to disallow the installation of the T7 in P3D. If so, I may be exploring X-Plane sooner than I had originally planned, and go for the Vmax 777-200. My intentions have been to stick with one sim, but I simply must have at least one of these 777's in my han…

Hi, I bought an installed ORBX England yesterday, and if I'm honest with you, I'm disappointed. If I max out everything, it looks okay, nothing like as good as they show on their website if I'm honest. However, at max everything my FPS drop off massively, fine if I'm flying IFR, but then why would I be looking at scenery? So to make it acceptably smooth (considering my laptops performance) I take the sliders back a small amount and then the scenery looks terrible, I mean, I appreciate that its not photo-real, but to me, this is pretty poor considering how much people rate this software. See photo attached for a view over Harwich port. Yes I know I'm flying…

Any more discussion of the Lockheed P3D EULA here are banned. We have had it. If you have questions about the EULA, want more clarity, or want to arm chair lawyer jawbone it, then take it to the LOCKHEED P3D forums. They have answered the question a thousand times. If you are having angst about it, go ask them directly. Do not do it here. Messages posted about the EULA will be immediately deleted AND the poster will be suspended. Do not go there again.

Hi, I am using MTX and have a few ORBX airports which come with traffic bgls and had a question. Does P3D look in a specific dir for the traffic bgl's i.e. Scenery/World/Scenery, or can a traffic bgl go in any dir that has a name of scenery? Does it know to look in specific directories based on what is in the scenery.cfg? I have installed different traffic bgls and really see no difference in the traffic even when speeding up the simulation to make sure nothing is showing up over time. Is the name of the bgl stored or referenced in another file that is read by P3D? Just need to know how it works so I can do some testing. Bob

I am starting a separate thread for this. If you know a particular addon/vendor products from FSX works in P3D or does not work, please post and let us know. IF it works, and it requires a seperate install specific for P3D or if you can simply direct it to an already installed FSX directory, please state which way this is done. If a specific addon is not included in this list, please free to add them. Categories: (Cat) ========================================================= a) Works by simply linking to an exisiting directory that was used for FSX (this way both sims (FSX and P3D can use the same folders). b.) Copy over the old FSX folder to …

With the continuing advancement of P3D by Lockheed Martin, more flight simulation enthusiasts are experimenting with, if not adopting entirely, this flight simulator. However, there is considerable confusion over which third party products currently available can be used, without violating your EULA or other restrictions, within P3D. Questions such as: Does my existing End User License Agreement (EULA) allow me to use my add-on in P3D? If not, do I need to purchase another license to install it in P3D? Assuming my EULA allows me to, will my current product work in P3D? And there are many more. We recently have had some incidents within the forums that arose …

Just saw these posts on Prepar3d.com concerning a start up screen and licensing by WBard from Lockheed Martin. Startup screen WILL be in V2! http://www.prepar3d.com/forum-5/?mingleforumaction=viewtopic&t=853.0 "Anyone can buy and train or learn with Prepar3D, or join the development network and use the free SDK to develop for Prepar3D." Well, PMDG as in "Precision", is really worth the designation. It costed me **only** $4 to re-activate my 2007 download and get that wonderful "Queen of the Skies" add-on back to my daily simulation thoughts / reading / virtual practice. What a detail / accuracy / quality in all sorts of aspects it provides!!! As a previous Aerowinx PS1 user, since day 1 of it's release and until I got Win7 64 bit on my system and gave up on the clumsy techniques required to make it run on this platform, all I can say is that I feel perfectly confortable and at home with this PMDG 744X. In some aspects the PMDG Queen goes even further into the depth of details than PS1! My recen…

The loss of engines Two blondes were flying to Miami from Cleveland. Fifteen minutes into the flight, the captain announced "One of the engines has failed and the flight will be an hour longer. But don't worry we have three engines left". Thirty minutes later, the captain announced "One more engine has failed and the flight will be two hours longer. But don't worry we have two engines left". An hour later the capain announced "One more engine has failed and the flight will be three hours longer. But don't worry we have one engine left". One blonde looked at the other the other blonde and said "If we lose one more engine, we'll be up here all day"
