Hello, I'm talking about installing the dvd verslons of the orbx scenery into P3D WITHOUT having to install FSX! Plan is to install P3D v2 on a brandnew harddisk (including a fresh installed OS). Can anybody help me with that? Luc Brusselmans Belgium

Hello all! I just saw the news on Avsim that P3D v2 will be out THIS MONTH! () With DX11 engine in place what are we looking at for compatibility of major addons? Im talking about the PMDGs, Flytampas, Aerosofts (scenery and airbus x), GEX's, REX's, ORBX etc.... Will we be seeing updates and patches or should we see backwards compatibility with P3D v2? Also I like flying with FSinn online and I was also wondering about that. Im excited for this! will buy right away!

Will P3D be affected? Another blow for our flightsim community?

What with everything that's coming out I'm getting overwhelmed with it all. I've become a collector of everything Orbx just to have it. Like a drug addict. Don't get me wrong I think Orbx makes great scenery but lately I find I have too much on my plate. It's time to go into rehab. I am dumping the whole thing...everything...and starting over again. Only this time without my eyes being bigger than my stomach. PNW, PFJ, CRM, NRM, SAK, and when they come out SRM and NCAL will be it. Just flying Orbx regions and airports should satisfy my appetite and leave room on my computer for my other two sims; Microsoft Train Simulator and FS9 with California Classics …

Hello everyone, I need your input since I am very puzzled. I’m an IT guy and I believe I have enough information to deal with software/hardware issues and be able to solve most problems and conditions. But, this one is for Sherlock Holmes! In a brand new installation of Prepar3D and without any add-ons at all, I fly one of P3D stock planes, Mooney Acclaim, to from a nearby airport distance to JFK. At about 20 miles distance from touchdown, the FPS begins to drop dramatically, to the point of having the system display the OOM condition. From time to time when I land at a major airport like KSFO, KSEA, or CYVR among the airliners at the gates I find a pure black MD-83. No windows, no doors, no markings. Just a pure black airplane. I have my ai airliner traffic set at 100%. My only ai aircraft at the moment are the default airliners and the two Orbx NA ai packages. I find all the default ai MD-83s that are supposed to be there like Soar and Pacifica, etc. But I have no idea where the black one comes from. I have no third party airliners installed. I've been through the textures and aircraft.cfg files for the default MD-83 but find nothing amiss. Anybody got any ideas? Noe…

Hey guys I just wanted to know if these ORBX airports will work in Dx10 (w/Fixer) properly, I'm going to buy them from FSS but I wanted to make sure they are work in DX10 because I hear ORBX compatibilty is hit or miss sometimes with DX10. Hi Everyone! Looking for some opinions/suggestions/advise: I plan to migrate from FSX to P3D I notice on P3D's website that I have the option of 3 licenses. I want to try out P3D, first. Will the $9 license for developers give me full access to the P3D that is similar to that of FSX? And if I load Airbus X Extended, will it fly like FSX? Or must I purchase the Professional license that costs $199 to do that? Will using Windows 8.1 - 64 bit be an issue? Also, is the version 2 already released? I've read elsewhere that should you purchase the preceding version that you would have to purchase an entirely new license. Is there any truth to that? Thx for y…

I like IFR flight but I don't want to have to make 0 - 0 Take-offs all the time. I have starting porting over my FSX files to P3D. Here is my problem. When I started with the POSKY planes, the Airbus's went without a squabble but I am having a heck of a time with the Posky 777. I cannot see outside the 3D cockpit. 2D is fine but 3d is borked until I go to Afternoon, Night, and monrnig modes then I can see just fine. I think unless someone can tell me different it is an Alpha Channel issue with the daylight file for the VC. My problem is I cannot find the darn file that controls that use. I am anxiously awaiting the release of 2.0 however, I have a question regarding video cards. What will happen to those of us who have not yet upgraded our video cards to ones with DX11 capabilities?

After woring in P3D editing aircraft, I find that I cannot access the aircraft menu of the program...P3D just crashes...this appears to be the only problem...the program starts fine... the default flight can be flown....missions can be flown with different aircraft...an airplane used in one mission can be used in another, but without accessing the aircraft menu.... I tried deleting and saving my main P3D Config file and re-starting but no luck ...the problem persists.... Hopefully this a problem is an easy fix... but if not, and a reinstall of the program is required (I am using Ver. 1.4), is there a "repair" option?....if not, will the new install …

I downloaded and installed the Orbx Iceland Demo and I have to say it is an outstanding piece of scenery. This morning I cruised around the Reykjavik-Keflavik region and was impressed with all the detail. I have never been there so I can't comment on the accuracy, but it is a beautiful piece of work. One anomaly. The Keflavik Airport (BIKF) is on a small plateau that rises above the terrain. I don't know if it's because I already have all the Pilot's FS Global Ultimate mesh packages installed and there was a conflict the same mesh included with Orbx Iceland or it comes that way. However, using Pilot's Aerodrome Flattening Mesh utility I got rid of the plateau…

Hello, I am new in Prepar3d, I am struggling to get this brake issue , see attechement, under Options / Controls / "Buttons and Keys", to see what joystick buttons might be assigned, I delete all the brake, but still, I can not get the brake away, can someone tell me what to do? thanks in advance John Liem

Wierd lag issiue. I got Prepar3D yesterday thinking its going to be better than FSX, well, im right. Its awesome, one problem I don't believe they have yet to fix, I lag in prepar3D with a KSAN heavy scenery addon. Now, usually this would happen in FSX, but I'm really wanting Prepar3D to be able to take full capability of my PC. 10-15FPS on the ground. 20FPS in the air (my limit of FPS) Alright, when I turn my camera around in the air to look back at the airport, it has to load?!?! Before I get to my point, let me just say: I'm not here trying to instigate a flame war or some other pointless act against Orbx. The FTX stuff is excellent and I fly over Orbx scenery exclusively. My views below are based on the EU Regions, not new releases (regions and airports) of other parts of the world. But, after more time spent flying around FTX ENG and WLS, I'm becoming more and more disappointed with the lack of overall polish they both exhibit compared to the previously released FTX regions. Hi, Having a first run at P3D and cannot get my 3D Pro throttle to work. Each aircraft appears to have max power set all the time and my throttle does nothing. Any ideas? Thanks

I have noticed that it is possible to tune some GPU's by selecting from a very long list of computer "games" when installing. So far I have not noticed that Prepar3D has received a mention. Can anyone tell me if P3D is on the "games" list for the GTX780? After all we know that the GPU is going to be the critical element in getting the best out of P3D. If there is not yet a mention for P3D, which "game" on the list would best align settings with Prepar3D Ver 2.0? I have ftx global and downloaded the iceland demo as well as the pacific nw demo. In iceland I noticed that there were areas of land where the buildings were under water. Then I tried my new flytampa st. marteen airport and there are a bunch of trees in the middle of the ocean and there is a ton of water covering the mountains. I have updated all the patches. Anyone have an idea of how to fix this?
