Like everyone else, I have been watching the build up and release of P3D V2.0 for the last few days. I have not downloaded it myself at this point but I am sure I will very soon. I have been a Flight Sim fan for more years than I like to think about. This release is no different than all the others. Some happy and some not so happy and as usual their are a few who have found one or two problems and will just not shut up. There is one thread that goes for pages and the ops complaint is that he can not buy a disk version. It just boggles the mind.!!! There are a couple of points that some how got lost in all the noise: (1) If one goes back and reads the info that LM ga…

Hi all I've just bought and set-up REX for p3d and am getting a massive hit on frames at EGKK at the moment, albeit the weather is awful! Wondering what others experience has been like and if there are any tips or tweaks to improve performance. Thanks JJ

I can go out and buy a decent new computer with a top of the line video card and enjoy P3D v2 on day one. This wasn't possible back in November of 2006 and has only recently became somewhat feasible two years ago with FSX. We lost many simmers and developers because of this and the community split. Now we have one sim that on release day anyone can use and you don't need a $3,000 machine to get there. In my book LM has done an outstanding job if by nothing else delivering a product that works. Now we can say like other releases of FS before FSX, "you might have to update some hardware to get the best out of the sim" but to flat out not have that hardware available and/or …

I haven't had time to benchmark different shadow settings. Which shadow settings affect performance most and by how much? (I did see one post about the terrain shadow casting being costly.) What are your preferred settings on higher-end systems?

I dunno just yet. There's some issues with P3D and noticeable delay in panning and aircraft controls that make it almost unbearable right now, even with 30+ FPS, but it has a nice aura about it, see screens. Then again, I dunno if it's just some "SweetFX" kinda settings going on either, definietly a better bloom than my SweetFX settings on FSX. I have the settings very comparable. FSX is set to all full, LOD at 8.0, textures 2048, autogen at max. P3D at full distance, textures 2048... I did turn off shadows and volumetrixc fog too, big FPS killers. Interestingly enough the Autogen setting on P3D is set top High but it has less trees? Anyway, it's tough right …

Hi, I'm getting good results in FSX/DX10, but I'm interested in P3DV2. I have an i7 2600k o'clocked to 4.8, and a GTX680 Classified 4GB, running three 22" monitors 3840x1080, via Matrox Triplehead. Has anyone with a similar setup experience in P3DV2? Thanks, Jim

Used this in FSX and during Beta. One of our customers and community members at A2A created this little free-ware app, its dead easy to use and can be mucho fun to use in sims (works for all as its out of sim program). I'm happy to promote the little freeware app here as I've found for me personally it adds a little bit of extra immersion and I guess it could easily do the same for many others. Details; http://forum.avsim.net/topic/426844-my-take-on-voice-activated-checklists/ And video of the app in use in our C172 but it can be made to work with whatever you wish. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xCrUuuhdENw#t=312

Ive been asking around with no real definitive answers, but Im hoping I can get a clue here. All of my payware aircraft arent certified (from what Ive been able to find) for installation to P3D 2.0, and Im wondering if anyone was able to port their aircraft over from FSX to P3D. Mostly, its al of Iris' air force series (F-15E, A-10, F-22), Razbams Harrier set, Aerosofts F-16 (and anything that is relatively that old), Milviz T-38, and anything from SSW. I have a bunch of payware aircraft that are a must for me to port over to 2.0 if I am to purchase. If they can be ported over, what are the procedures for installation? Ive not seen a P3D installer for any of these a…

I finally managed to install my Saitek yoke and other panels, but when I start a flight (default King Air) the aircraft veers off to the left. YES the yoke is calibrated and it shows up in the P3D controls panel. I use SPAD and do NOT have FSUIPC installed. I remember I had the same problem in the beginning with my 1.4 installation but I don´t remember how I fixed that. Any suggestions?

As quoted from the email I just received: btw, they have a black Friday sale on as well. -------------- We support Prepar3D V2 Starting today, all our products installers have been updated to support the new Prepar3D V2 sim, without having to do any conversion or manual install procedure. Just download the updated installers, they will detect if you have Prepar3D V2 installed, and will prompt if you want to install there. There's no additional cost or different licensing required to use our products in Prepar3D, your existing license is still valid.

YES! Now we're talking!!! I'm in! I'm sold! I'm a believer! First thing I did this evening was turn on Aero (which, how funny, I had turned off for performance reasons LOL). And yes, Vsync works now! What a incredible difference it makes! Now I can finally see everything in all its glory! It's amazing how much autogen there is, as far as the eye can see! Although, which has to be said, this also depends on your weather settings: when I set visibility to unlimited I do see autogen poping up in the far distance. But with normal (and imho realistic) lower visibility, everything is there as if it's always been there. I said it before P3D was released and now that I've got…

I've been reading almost all topics here but oddly enough I (still) can't find any information about the new autogen 'system' which should remove the annoying popping up of autogen. TELL ME! How is it? Does it work as advertised???

The only A2A statement that I know of, is Lewis on Nov 20th "V2/.../ is not officially supported at the time of this post". So we're kind of on our own... Any experience the P40 and P51 with Accusim working in V2. What about the joystick configurator ? That would be a deal breaker for me if they don't

I have to say that I am a big P3D fan and have used P3D Version 1.4 and have been extremely pleased with it. So it should come as no surprise that I was sitting at my computer Sunday night waiting to download Version 2.0. After an incredibly long download, 22 hours I installed P3D and starting playing with it. My initial reaction? Disappointment. Big disappointment. I read different forums and saw mixed reviews. I have an Intel I7 920 2.66 CPU, unclocked and a brand new GeForce GTX 760. After making various adjustments with sliders I felt defeated and shut down my computer for the night. I read the forums today for some insight into what was going on with this new version…

The title sort of sums it up. If I'm not mistaken Flight One products are currently prohibited for use by the EULA and if so I am assuming that the CS DC9 would not be authorized for use in P3d but I'm not sure what kind of agreement or lack thereof exists between Cool Sky the producer, F1 the distributor and P3d. Looking for the "official" stance only and apologies if the topic has been discussed previously. Thanks, Robert

I just need the media in my hands just in case something happens like what happened to MS Flight. With physical media being sold the future is not dependent on LM an example would be people can still buy FSX from Amazon although Microsoft is long gone from the project. I'm not a big fan of the cloud or crazy long downloads. LM please package this thing properly and offer us the boxed option.

Gentlemen, it is not possible to change setting of change the aircraft or wetaher end so one without getting a fatal error.
