With all the new lighting, shadows, and water quality.. The default scenery has never looked so good. Prepar3D has changed the default scenery a lot since FSX but not really until v2 did I start to actually enjoy default scenery. For those who don't have Prepar3D one of the first things they did after acquiring it was go after scenery tiles. They upgraded some 10 million tiles early on... Anyway.... Am I the only one finding a new love for default scenery? It's by no far on Orbx levels etc but. For most anything East of the Rocky Mountains.. It's not too shabby... P3D -Migration Tool for Orbx Scenery - besides Global. So I was over on the Orbx forum and read the latest and see that scenery and airports may take as long as 12 months before they are ready for P3D. Bummer They also state that if you use a Migration tool there will be no support. So I can not ask there I suppose. That is a long wait and I wonder if anyone else is thinking about trying something like Estonia? Or is that a bad idea? I never tried my PFJ or PAKT in DX 10 so not sure if they worked with that version - and maybe not any chance in DX11....? Hi, I just tried to add the Level-D 767 to Prepar3D and I get a CTD. This was my portover. 1. Copied the FSX/Level-D Simulations folder into the Prepar3D/Level-D Simulations folder.2. I think there is a reason why setting of AI traffic only has a very small impact on performance.... Note that all Boeing and Cessnas and handfull other aircraft taht also are used for AI traffic in FSX are gone. I tried to crank up AI settings at Franfurt airport. A setting of 20% airliner only mad one aircraft appear, icreasing it to 50% only made one additional aircraft appear. FinnJ

The more I use P3D the more I like it. I wish that the above Flight Planners were compatible with P3D. I have v2. I understand that previous versions contained a FS.exe that made FSC compatible. All I see in here is praise and performance praise in default Prepar3D. Who plays their flight sim like that? Some have Orbx Global installed and state that alone already hurts performance. There are plenty of freeware airports out that kill frame rates. Why no one is doing stress testing of this new sim, I'm unsure. Only reason I'd consider buying P3D is if there is a large performance gain at similar FSX visuals. So I put to you, if I see 10fps at my usual settings in busy airports, will I see it increase to >17fps in P3D?

When the T7 is released for P3D, I'm wondering if it will be allowed and will work in 1.4.

Is it best to put downloaded user flight plans in the missions folder or the documents folder? Thank you

I have been running a medium to low end quadcore pc overclocked to 3.4, 8G Ram and a GTX560 Ti. It had been my goal to build a new pc from scratch in the hope that I would get much better performance out of "old faithful" (FSX), particularly with regards to blurriness, niggling stutters and autogen problems. Like any old school sim addict, I just had to press the buy now button and rush home to install this baby. My first thoughts? No need to build a new pc now! Buttery smooth and better graphics than I can achieve with FSX. Needless to say I can't push all the sliders to the right just yet, but I don't care at the moment. I have a 670 OC, quite enjoying it, but am wondering what you lucky 780 users are seeing? Can you use shadows on buildings & vegetation? Have u tried a more complex plane and are seeing mid-20's. I"m ready to pull the trigger if you can convince me! I just tried the CS727 @ KSFO (flightbeam) and only saw 15fps at one point. I'm guessing I'll get 50% more frames with a 780. Opinions welcome (sort of, in a way I don't want an excuse to blow another 6-700 bucks!) Thanks

Hi, Does anyone know if P3D brings a solution to the VAS issue in FSX and P3D V1.X? I do not know if V2 is a 64bit code, I doubt it is but in case anyone got a spec about it? IMHO if the 4GB virtual memory limitation is still there in the engine, the DX11 rendering tricks or any visual boost not only are not enough to make V2 fly far but will bring it even more down to its knees with the complexity of add-ons :-/ Cheers Michel

Anyone know how to install the latest AIRACs? Can it be done the regular way, through the installer, or will I have to modify certain files?

Comparing equally as possible visually, which will give better frame rate at heavy, busy airports? Aside, in above situation, which is less likely to OOM?

My UKMIL Chinook with added gauges, including the Garmin 530 in the 2D, is flying just fine with FSXPilot for the AP.

Ok, here goes I have Prepar3d v2 Academic ver installed on a Windows 8.1 64 machine (i5 4430, 8GB ram, NV GTX770) with addons REX OD plus, Carenado C90, Carenado Jetprop, and a registered copy of FSUIPC 4.9.1.2f. Everything works fine until I add LINDA 1.13 over to the modules folder, then I get the error "Prepar3D has stopped working". See attached image and below event logs. I have tried this at least 5 times using no copied files from FSX modules, as well as using the FSX files copied over. If I delete everything out of the modules folder, then reinstall FSUIPC 4..9.1.2 f clean, by itself, it works fine...but when I try to install LINDA, all hell breaks loo…

Today I had a few spare moments so was in a rush. I wanted to compare VAS and FPS with FSX. So I closed P3D and as soon as the screen had cleared I double clicked on FSX. Up popped the message that told me FSX was already running. Clearly P3D had not completely finished closing down. The same was true going in the opposite direction. As I say it means nothing just an observation.

OK, I'm not giving up on my OOM problems. I've spent the evening doing test flights with similar (but not identical - it's impossible) settings in P3D1.4 and P3D2. Here are my findings: Settings: No bloom in P3D1.4, but HDR lighting enabled in P3D2; Maxxed out scenery and autogen (mesh reduced to 5m); Identical high traffic settings (aircraft 59%, airport vehicles medium, road 25%, ships 100%, boats 5%); No water reflections (unrealistic, so I have no desire to use them at all); No shadows in P3D1.4, but cockpit shadows cast and recieve in P3D2; The usual tweaks in P3D1.4 (BufferPools=0, TEXTURE_BANDWITH_MULT=80, TextureMaxLoad=18, FFTF=0.12, ForcedWindowedVSynch=1, LOD…

The compatibility thread say that FTX Global needs a new installer for LM P3d... where can I get it? I don't want ro redownload 4gb of data if I don't have to? Thanks

I am intrigued and curious how effective is this Estonia migration tool ? It claims to be able to migrate all legit FSX add-ons to P3Dv2. I see that Reality XP is incompatible but has anyone tried migrating Reality XP with this tool? I am also using Flight 1 UT2 for AI traffic in FSX. Can anyone confirm if UT2 can be migrated to P3Dv2 using this tool? Thanks
