Hi folks Tooltips does not work when using DX10 in FSX and I was wondering if P3D V2 supports tooltips in DX11 when displayed in full screen? Cheers Brent

Is anyone else using OPUS in V2 and getting no GRIB data? It doesn't load in the flight plan report and isn't injected into the sim. Asking here since it looks like the OPUS devs are on hiatus for a few days. Anyone have a solution?

So I had a problem with my original account on the P3D website linked to my e-mail address. I forgot the password -- requested to reset -- the e-mail never came. Created a new account, and bought P3D -- however in the purchase information I put my e-mail address linked to my original P3D website account. Now I can't download P3D (even though I have a paid license!) because I can't log to the username associated with my e-mail address! 4 hours later, my password still has not reset. I am getting frustrated. Does anyone have direct download links to the academic version so I can get started with the 10 gb? I was planning to install this tomorrow :-/

I have 2 SSDs on my dedicated flight sim PC. One for Win7/FSX, and the other for the photo scenery. I originally set it up this way without any prior research. It just seemed "right" to me to do it that way. This time around, I'd like to draw on everyone's experience... Is it better to install P3D on the same drive with the OS, or the scenery? - Gavin

After some initial disappointments and some initial happy moments I think that I can say P3D could be a keeper (because 1. the autogen doesn't popup anymore (yihaaa!), 2. texture loading is clearly better, 3. VC shadows are great (better than with the DX10 Fixer in FSX because they are more clear and obvious, which I love) and 4. if performance is good (and my settings are moderate), it is utterly and totally smooth)... ...BUT... there is ONE thing that's spoiling the entire experience at this moment: the lack of Vsync. It just won't work on my GTX580. And I don't only have terrible tearing but also the associated 'wobbling' of everything I see down there. It's bl…

Seems no matter what I try I've got "muddy" textures around me and blurry textures just beyond that. :( FPS are fine, airplane sharpness is great. Have a GTX 670 on board with 2GB. Anybody out there sharing my misery? Would just throwing a Titan in there solve this or is it something else?

Hi everyone, I'm looking for some advice about a gpu as the title states. I'm looking at the middle of the road processors since I cant afford a 780 or a titan. In particular, i'm looking at the gtx 660 or 760 both with 2gb. Questions are as follows: What benefits would I gain with the 760 over the 660? Also, what type of limitations would I be looking at with only 2gb of ddr5? I realize its kinda early in the game since p3d2.0 just released, but any advice would greatly appreciate it

Hi all, I am trying to use a second monitor that has a low resolution 1024x768 (this is actually the monitor of the vrinsight CDU II). Unfortunately, it seems that Prepar3d V2 has a minimum resolution of 1024x1280x32 for the second display. I've tried to edit the config file with: [DISPLAY.Device.NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680.0.1] Mode=1024x768x32 But prepar3d simply ignores it and reverts back to the original 1024x1280x32. Does anybody know what I should do to have Prepar3d recognize the lower resolution? Thanks p

I went to the REX support forums but I'm waiting to be verified there so I can't comb the P3D support forum there. What I have seen posted elsewhere is that there is a $4.95 licensing fee. Where do can I buy one? I have Both REX Essential + Overdrive and REX Latitude and would like to use both in P3D. Not sure if Latitude is compatible or not but if it is it'll be interesting to see if my flying scores will improve by using P3d which feels a little smoother for me than FSX.

Hi, I post my question here as the p3d forum, since Monday no answer and others get upset. I want something more constructive. During installation of P3D v2, I receive an error message regarding the declaration of P3D in the registry. Win7 UAC is disabled and I launched the setup in administrative mode. The antivirus is also disabled. I tried to repair the installation, but nothing works. I do not understand where the error occurred. I tried the solutions found on Google. But I can not unlock the registry. What to do? Thanks.

I currently own: REX Overdrive Aerosoft: 320 Extended, Beaver. Carenado: 58, 185, 208, 200. Level-d: 767 PMDG: 737 I'm thinking Obrx FTX: Global. Would this be best, or am I missing something others find critical?

Discloser: Not a P3D user. Just a curious bystander at this point.... What do you folks think of the default aircraft in P3D V2? I've seen some nice screen shots and I've seen at least a few aircraft that I don't have in my FSX hangar. How do they stack up against the default FSX aircraft or FSX Add-ons? The cost a quality good add-ons for FSX could easily cover the cost of getting into P3D V2 if their aircraft measure up.

A follow up to my earlier post. My PC has an Intel Core 2 Duo 3Ghz CPU, 4 Gb RAM, an HP w1907v monitor running at1440 x 900, and a GeForce GT 520 with 1Gb memory.the operating system is windows 7 home Premium 64-bit. I have installed P3D, FSX and FS9. All out -of-the-box with the as-installed default settings.. For comparison I chose the common default Beechcraft Kingair and Heathrow airport. I got the following initial values for free VAS using the VMMAP utility FS9 1.59 Gb (out of 2 Gb) FSX + Acceleration 3.18 Gb (out of 4 Gb) P3D 2.53 Gb (out of 4 Gb)

Hi All, As the topic suggests I've spent, since the day of release, many hours (some of which were frustrating) trying to get the best out of P3D2 but must say that I'll be sticking with my FSX FX10 config for the foreseeable future as P3D2 simply isn't anywhere near as good. It may be down to the hardware I have, lack of Orbx V2 regions, etc. Don't get me wrong, I'll be monitoring very carefully and will certainly be dipping my toe in every now and then but for now FSX is King...for me anyway. I installed it this evening. Well, I was reminded just how awful the default scenery and default flight models are. . Thank God we don't have to live with that. That aside, i tested it for about an hour tonight... I experienced no CTDs thankfully, so from that perspective it seems fairly stable on my system. The autogen density at max is amazing, but it's def a performance killer at those levels so have kept it mid range and I definitely still noticed autogen popping, particularly buildings - although much further in the distance than with FSX. The shadowing and HDR lighting is an amazing shift from FSX, so much more immersive. I can definitely see …

I have a GTX580 (3GB RAM) and doesn't matter what I do I have always fully load on my GPU. So far I'm glad I have (mostly) no spikes, but I wonder also if there's no possibility if this could somehow be reduced in a way? I tried several settings without any effect. Is there anybody else with a GTX580 whcih doesn't have 99% load or should this be accepted as "normal" now? thanks Guenter

For those who are thinking about buying some (older) Orxb add ons: JV posted on the Orbx forum that they are considering to do a December sale. JV asked if everyone would like it or not and made clear only 'legacy' products will be on sale, so not FTX Global and new release from the coming month. He also said he is asking his customers if they would like this because of what happened back in 2011 with the Xmas sale. He acknowledged he said way back then there wouldn't be any more sales but he now posted that this is the only way to give something back to his customers. (And of course sales are simply important for any business!) I think it's 99% certain the sale will …

I never ever touched missions in FSX but just now I had a talk about MS Flight and I thought back about that great mission where you had to search for a lost kayaker. I noticed that P3D 2.0 comes with a few missions so I gave one a try where you had to search for a lost pilot. I was surprised to hear people talking and giving orders and showing me around... in all honesty if was a very er... game-like experience... and I loved it! Unfortunately, when we found the lost pilot and tried to land where he was I crashed... Anyway, I was wondering if this was an old FSX mission or if this was a new SimDirector mission...?

Lewis from A2A posted this on their C172 forum: So apparently LM needs to fix something... or all devs need to make their planes compatible...? That may take a while...!!! I see a lot of planes are marked 2.0 compatible in this topic: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/426926-p3d-v2-master-compatibility-list/ but that topic mainly tells you how to get the planes installed: more often it seems that once installed, there can be various problems. As I said elsewhere: making the installer P3D 2.0 ready doesn't make the addon itself P3D 2.0 compatible. It's a shame, really... I will have to keep on flying the default planes a while longer, I suppose.

Has anyone else tried ******* 'Bojote' Altuve's tweak? http://www.venetubo.com/fsx.html It will also tweak the P3D CFG file. I found it gave me a substantial performance gain Chris
