What can you say about the best way to install, using the Estonian Migration Tool, an add-on for FSX that has the options to be installed on FSX Acceleration or FSX + SP2? When installing to Prepar3d should I choose Acc or SP2? Thx for any ideas / suggestions ;-) P.S.: yesterday I have successfuly installed the b377 COTS v2 into Prepar3d without any problems. It will take it's time before I get used to the complexity and accuracy of the modelled systems, but so far it appears that everythins is running as it was suposed to. The installer prompted me to choose between FSX Acc or FSX Sp2. I chose Sp2, but I could probably have chosen Acc (?)

If so, how do I install in P3D if FSX is installed as well? (I don't want to install it in FSX)

A2A's Captain of the Ship b377. I've been looking at it since it was released in it's firts version, long ago. I decided to get the p51d Civil first, and it the model I "fly" the most in P3D for short morning circuits before leaving to work :-) This b377 is so good, so detailled, that I believe I'll have to carefuly set my simming schedules to be able to enjoy, the two PMDGs (744x and 737NGX) and the two A2As (p51d Civil and b377 COTS).

Hi all, After a year without FSX (hard drive crash and lack of will to re-install everything--so I tried, and liked XP-10), I've loaded up P3d with Rex Essentials and Just Flight's Traffic 360 and am happy to have a AI traffic and "full horizon" simulation option again! (lol....I do love just looking out of the "passenger seat" during cruise and look at the far horizon--which is very nice with REX). Anyway, my goal is to keep P3d pretty simple--including having just a few tubeliners and photo-real ortho scenery. I'd like to go with a mostly Lockheed and Airbus lineup (and leave the Boeing 737 to XP-10) So far in P3d I've flown: Just Flight Connie (default) …

I should have done this a long time ago. Sure I lost a few hundreds of dollars worth of add-on because the developers don't allow it (some actually update the software to prevent it use in P3D, that's just bad taste) but the ones that I am allowed are more than made up. The sim experience is way better than FSX. 30 FPS in P3D is not 30 FPS in FSX. P3D is much smoother. I am looking forward to DX11 support where I expect the main memory usage will be much lower. Thanks and above thanks to Paavo for the migration tool!

I am so pleased that I am absolutely beside myself ...at my weight that would Sink a pretty good sized troller...oops, We are flying here... okay sink a pretty good Sized Cessna 172... I now have flying, wonderfully well, my ???? 999??X, controlled by my Thrust Master HOTAS Warthog, hereafter simply referred to in the P3D vernacular as "hog", with bunches of Linda assigned switches, and twirlly thingamabobs on my MCP and center console, like my AP SPEED, ALT,thrust reversers, and fSUI PC governedy axes and calibration...quite a breakthrough for me, due to Robert McDonald's catalytic Tutorial on the HOG as set up through Linda for the ??x. So, kids, say Thank y…

Hi So I'm enjoying my switch to P3d. I have a question. The RXPs do not work in P3d (the professional version does) Does anyone know of a realistic gps unit for p3d? Doesn't matter what kind as long as its well simulated. There's a realistic KLN90 for fsx isn't there? Does anyone know where that is available and if it works in P3d? Thanks Lee

Hi everyone, I seem to have accidently screwed up my scenery.cfg for Prepar3d . everytime I start Perpar3d, I get a message that reads "Prepar3d cannot run without a valid scenery.cfg. Please uninstall and reinstall Prepar3d" I checked several forums to find a solution but was unsuccesful. Please, is there any way to repair the scenery.cfg? Reinstalling Prepar3d with all addons would take me days because I´d have to download all of them again, finding my serial numbers etc. Thanks in advance !!! Regards, Fabian

I am using NI 1.6.9 with P3D. I only have the AA part modified, and use Anisotropic filtering from the Display menu of the simulator (set to Anisotropic), with app controlled in NI. I am limiting the FPS withing the simulator too. What do others use?

Shhhh! Say nothing to anyone! The Accusim p51d handles beautifully in P3D, and my Aerosoft Madeira airport and Lukla do as well, and Flight1's PC-12 ;-) There is some weird sensation though, specially with some aircraft, and although I fear it may well be some kind of placebo effect, or over-enthusiasm (you know me :-) ) with the great results I am obtaining with this clean and smooth simulator - P3D - but the fact is that sometimes, for instance during high power climbs, takeoffs and even when weather conditions are more challenging, something feels better / more realistic in P3D than it did in FSX Gold (?) Can it be an effect of the smoother (stutter-free) …

I was curious about how P3D was getting Visual Studio support with DX, so I did some digging (actually not much) and found the very same DX wrapper I use ... SlimDX. SlimDX is a 3rd party open source tool that provides a managed wrapper around DirectX so that one can use Visual Studio technologies like .NET framework (VB, C#, etc.). It's a really cool tool ... you can read more about it here: http://slimdx.org/ I thought that was kinda interesting. SlimDX can't make old code better but it's a good place to start and move forward with ... that and a 64bit code path -- given that I can make P3D OOM faster than FSX especially if I turn on Bathymetry. Ro…

Hi. I want to run FSX and P3D on the same computer. I have Win7 64-bit and FSX on one SSD. I was going to install P3D on a second SSD. Would it be preferable to put another install of Win 7 64-bit on the same drive as P3D and basically have a dual-boot system or can I use the same install of Win7 for both FSX and P3D without messing up FSX? I have a Raptor for scenery, etc. Thanks, Jeff

I am willing to "Invest" on a good helicopter for P3D. It's been a long time since I used DODOSIM 206 on fs9, and I never bought the fsx version, but maybe there are other alternatives, compatible with P3D ? Any suggestions welcomed!

Hi I'm trying to download the migrator tool from Orbx. Both v1 and 1.3 but the download has an unexpected end of archive error. I've tried around 5 times. Anyone know if something is up with their servers? The link for the google download is a 404 too. Any tips? Lee

Well, another very positive result with Prepar3d and an add-on which is now fully Prp3d-compatible - AS2012. I am probably a weird simmer, but the fact is that I find P3D's interface very clean and easy to use, specially for someone coming from FSX, I like to start in the way P3D starts, and then jumping to where ever I like and choosing the aircraft I want to take for the ride... I really like to fly with the smoothness it provides even when using a complex add-on like Aerosoft's AXE, so, I was afraid of ruining my experience by introducing some other add-on I was accustomed to use in FSX - a weather injector. Also, I must say I am perfectly satisfied with the de…

Just started using P3D a couple of weeks ago and love it. I'm running into a few problems with SimLauncher and am hoping I can get some explanations/answers. 1) Sim time is always set to Fall 2011 when I launch SimLauncher. I can easy change this by clicking the box next to the current date below the calendar, but is there a way to set it so every time I launch SimLauncher the date displayed is the current date and time? 2) Whenever I choose to start a flight at a gate, after clicking fly now, I always end up about 29 feet away from where I should be. 3) SimLaunchers appears to not recognize some 3rd part airport add-ons. I added a freeware airport and when…

While I am aware that some of you find it important to be able to start P3D as you did with FSX, or even better using a well know app, I myself like the way P3D starts - using always a default situation. One of the reasons I like it is probably the fact that I am an ELITE user, and in that sim that is the way I have always started my flights. OTOH even in FSX I used that same method and even disabled preload, because just as most of you know some sophisticated aircraft should be started using a cold & dark CESSNA start situation. In P3D I have set it to start with the default Piper Cub, engine out. Then I decide: 1) Where to go should I prefer not to start fro…

Hello, I just purchased P3 this evening to see if if would run better on my system. Unfortunately, with everything on maximum, I am only getting 6 fps out of the gate? In addition, the game will not let me adjust the display resolution. I selected the proper size yet nothing happens. My cpu is only showing around 22% usage and my graphics card around 25%. Could I have a corrupted install? If you see the picture below, everything looks out of focus. In addition, the menu goes in and out of focus.

Hey guys, Is anyone running the new updated Active Sky 2012 that is compatible with P3D? Not sure if I'm one of the rare ones but some how I managed to get P3D and vatsim working a few months ago. Only thing missing is the weather. Vatsim fails to inject the weather into P3D. I was wondering if active sky will solve this problem, I just don't want to spend the $$ to find out it doesn't solve the problem. Thanks guys I enjoy the P3D forum here! -Jon CFI/CFII thats my gravitar for Battlefield 3, C4rlyRaeJepsen. Not sure why its linked with the forums here lol
